I put three lip glaze that promise shine and hydration to the test – one will become your go-to

LIP glaze is your latest handbag must-have, replacing balms, glosses and oils, promising shine, hydration and pigment with no sticky residue.
This week I put three of them to the test.
4
Budget
Maybelline New York Lifter Glaze Lip Oil Balm, £7.99 for 19g, Boots
I was surprised by how pigmented this was.
With just one swipe I got a far deeper colour than I expected, which is great for a product at such an affordable price.
It has a nice, sweet smell and feels hydrating on the lips.
My only gripe is that the stick is quite hard but I found it went on more easily if I swiped it on the back of my hand first to warm it up.
Then I applied it to my lips for a more sheer finish that gave a gloss-like shine, but it works great as a tinted lip balm straight from the bullet.
Mid-range
Glossier Lip Glaze Hydrating Sheer Lip Oil, £22, 8ml, spacenk.com
Glossier makes some of my favourite lip products, so I had high expectations for this.
The formula feels soft and creamy, giving the slip of a gloss but with a buttery softness you might get from a balm – yet it's thinner than most oils or glosses, so it doesn't feel heavy.
I have chronically chapped lips and immediately felt the hydration from the apricot seed oil and shea butter.
We tried six lipsticks we'd never normally go for - here's what worked & what didn't
The pigment is extremely sheer, so it can pass as 'your lips, but better shades' and you won't need a mirror to reapply it.
If you want more colour pay-off, you'll need to layer it over a lip liner.
Luxury
Yves Saint Laurent LoveShine Candy Glaze, £38, 3g, sephora.co.uk

These promise the colour of a lipstick with the slick of an oil and, given that Maybelline and YSL are owned by L'Oreal, I thought the formulas would be pretty similar.
In fact, this balm was far softer and easier to apply.
It glides over lips like an oil but with a thicker, gel-cream consistency that stays put on lips longer, keeping them hydrated.
The pigment is also closer to a tint than a lipstick, which I prefer for daily wear as it doesn't go patchy over time.
This has quickly become my go-to.

Kylie Jenner's mini plus-one! Stormi joins mom and Auntie Kendall on canal ride after Bezos-Sanchez wedding

Doting mom Kylie Jenner is making memories with her daughter Stormi in the historic city of Venice. The seven-year-old joined her mother, 27, and aunt Kendall Jenner, 29, for an unforgettable ride through the city's historic canals on Saturday. A relaxing day with family seemed to be the perfect way to unwind after what was certainly a fun-filled few days celebrating Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding. The globetrotters were spotted enjoying a leisurely cruise through the city, with Stormi looking every inch the young fashionista in cool sunglasses and a velour fuchsia ensemble by Chanel. Kylie, clad in a black bikini with a matching skirt that clung to her curves, gently stroked her daughter's hair as she chatted with her sister. Aperol Spritz in hand, aunt Kendall bared her abs as she pointed out various points of interest. Kylie, who shares Stormi and three-year-old son Aire with her ex-boyfriend Travis Scott, revealed to her millions of Instagram followers that she was recovering post-wedding with a 'pool day.' She uploaded a selfie that appeared to have been taken from the canal ride, along with a sweet snap of Stormi embracing her in the sunshine. It's safe to say Kylie had quite the epic time at the recent star-studded nuptials. Prior to the pool day, the star was spotted celebrating in Venice with her family - and a wine glass frequently in hand. The energy Kylie served at the nuptials has earned praise from fans across various social media platforms - with one declaring her a 'vibe.' 'Kylie is a vibe!!' one posted in the comments section of a video of her at the celebrations, with another commenting, 'Kylie ate,' along with a fire emoji. 'King Kylie is back,' another declared as another insisted she 'will always be that girl.' Her drink of choice also sparked a buzz across social media - with one calling it relatable and another 'iconic.' Jenner sweetly stroked her daughter's hair It's safe to say Kylie enjoyed herself at the celebrations; pictured Saturday 'the go to glass of wine to the function is so me,' one TikToker quipped. 'how i want to be all summer drinking Rose unbothered happily wifed up,' that same TikToker wrote in another post. 'bout to dig out my rose all day tshirt from 2016,' she also posted. 'I love that Kylie always has a drink with her,' one posted with a laughing-crying and hand heart emojis. 'Kylie always drinking something...,' another posted with three laughing-crying emojis. The visuals of Kylie celebrating the power couple has also served as inspiration for those hoping to follow in her footsteps. 'May this life find me,' another posted in the comments section of a video of Kylie and her sister Kendall arriving to the celebrations. 'Manifesting,' another wrote. 'She looks so good,' another posted alongside photos of Kylie drinking wine. 'Kylie isn't Kylie without her wine,' another posted. 'Kylie came for the wine,' one Redditor posted. Described as the 'wedding of a century,' the 61-year-old Amazon founder and the former journalist, 55, exchanged vows in front of nearly 200 VIPs on San Giorgio Maggiore island in Venice, Italy, on Friday. Following the intimate ceremony, the billionaire couple hosted a star-studded rave. The Bezos wedding began on Thursday with the first of three days of parties in Venice – but impeccable sources reveal that the Amazon founder and journalist-turned-philanthropist Lauren Sanchez are already married. A source closely connected to the organization of the week's events said: 'They have been married for at least a month, more than a month. 'The marriage is fully legal and took place in America under American law.' The source adds: 'When they were planning the wedding, they were clear about the fact that they were already secretly married There is no application for a wedding license from the couple because it was not required. 'Whatever happens at the wedding on Friday, it will not be a wedding. Under Italian law, it will not be a wedding celebration, any vows said or rings exchanged will have no legal meaning.' The source added that Bezos had personally confirmed that he and Sanchez – who met when both were married to other people – are already legally married, and that they had also signed a pre-nuptial agreement to protect his $244 billion (£177 billion) fortune.
