A man has died after being found unresponsive with serious head injuries inside a car on the Gold Coast, with another man now charged with his murder. The 44-year-old man was found inside a car on Beale St, Southport at about 9.50pm on Saturday. Police allege he suffered the head injuries when he was assaulted by a 28-year-old man at a property on the same street about 20 minutes prior. Neighbour Sophie said she did not witness anything, but was horrified by the 'scary' news. 'I just woke up and saw the police tape and just knew something was wrong, ' she said. 'I didn't hear or see anything, I just woke up … and thought, 'Oh my god, this is real'.' Police were notified of the man's death early Sunday morning and launched an investigation. The 28-year-old man, from Stafford Heights, was taken into custody on Sunday. He has since been charged with murder and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward or contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Tributes have been flowing in for a father allegedly stabbed to death at his home in Brisbane's north. Greg Josephson, 58, was fatally stabbed during a house party at his home in Clayfield at about 8.15pm on Thursday. Police took a 15-year-old boy known to Josephson into custody at a nearby cafe and later charged him with murder. Josephson, a father of three, has been remembered by friends as 'the nicest guy' and a 'mate', with one friend recalling how they worked as DJ's together during their university days. The alleged attacker's case was briefly mentioned in Children's Court on Friday morning, with the accused not in attendance. No bail application was made. He is expected to return to court in September. Police say investigations are continuing.
