Browns Tied to Pro Bowl Tight End in Unlikely Trade Scenario
Browns Tied to Pro Bowl Tight End in Unlikely Trade Scenario originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
While the Cleveland Browns focus on the quarterback competition this offseason, there are other position groups that will require attention.

After the team shipped wideout Amari Cooper off to Buffalo last season, the team is short a pass catcher.
While there are rumors about a possible return of Cooper, the Browns could use another pair of hands.
That could be either at wide receiver or, as Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox thinks, tight end. Knox suggests a trade with the Atlanta Falcons, tight end for Kyle Pitts.
"The Cleveland Browns may also want to kick the tires on Pitts," Knox wrote. "They've shown a willingness to add promising players who have underwhelmed before — they traded for Jerry Jeudy last offseason —and could view Pitts as a potential long-term contributor. Cleveland did just draft Harold Fannin Jr. in Round 3, but David Njoku is entering the final year of his contract."

It's an odd suggestion because of their current tight end situation.
David Njoku is still under contract through next season with an $11.5 million salary. And the team just spent a third-round pick on Bowling Green tight end Harold Fannin Jr.
If the Browns make a trade for Pitts, it would likely mean the end of Njoku's time in Cleveland. Another potential issue is that Pitts, while playing well for four seasons in Atlanta, hasn't lived up to the hype after being the No. 4 overall pick.
After a Pro Bowl nod in his rookie season, the former Florida Gator hasn't been back since. There have been no All-Pro selections either.

Is that a product of his offense and lack of quarterback talent in Atlanta? Or is that on the player? We don't know.
But a trade for Pitts seems unlikely. On all fronts.

Brewers Send 5-Word Christian Yelich Message After Rockies Game
Brewers Send 5-Word Christian Yelich Message After Rockies Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Milwaukee Brewers designated hitter Christian Yelich is in his thirteenth major-league season after making his debut in 2013 at age 21. Advertisement Originally selected in the first round of the 2010 MLB Draft by the Marlins, he spent five seasons in Miami before an offseason trade sent him to Milwaukee ahead of the 2018 campaign. In Milwaukee he immediately elevated his game—batting .326 with 36 homers and 110 RBIs on his way to NL MVP honors in 2018—and transitioned that success into his current nine-year, $215 million contract that includes a mutual option for 2029. Yelich has said repeatedly he wants to finish his career in Milwaukee and his contract is indicative of that. Brewers designated hitter Christian Yelich (22)© Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports During Friday's 10-6 win against the Colorado Rockies, Yelich extended his hitting streak to ten games, collecting 19 hits—including eight extra-base knocks—and 17 RBIs over that span as Milwaukee has surged to a 7–3 record over those contests. Advertisement The team's official X account congratulated Yelich and wrote, 'This guy is a MACHINE.' Since joining the Brew Crew, Yelich has been named an All-Star three times (2018, 2019, 2024) and claimed a Gold Glove in left field before his transition to designated hitter. Over his career, Yelich has a lifetime .286 batting average, accumulating 219 home runs and 805 RBIs in 1,543 games. He has led the Brewers to six postseason appearances out of his seven Milwaukee seasons, but is still searching for his first National League pennant, falling just a game short in 2018. As Milwaukee eyes another October run, Yelich's bat and clubhouse leadership will once again be pivotal to the team's success. Chicago Sky in Disbelief Over Angel Reese Play Against Valkyries
Chicago Sky in Disbelief Over Angel Reese Play Against Valkyries originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Chicago Sky entered Friday night's game against the Golden State Valkyries with a 4-10 record during the 2025 WNBA season. Advertisement With a victory, Chicago would have consecutive wins for just the second time this season, and they would move into 10th place in the league standings. Chicago scored just 34 points in the first half of the contest, as they trailed 39 to 34 at the break. The team shot just 30.3% from the floor and turned the ball over six times (via Karli Bell). In the third quarter of the matchup, however, Reese got things going with an impressive three-pointer. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5).Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images After the shot went in, the Chicago Sky reacted to the made three-pointer on their social media. This was just the seventh make from beyond the arc of Reese's two-year WNBA career. Advertisement The team was not surprised that Reese made the shot, but that the All-Star forward was able to lull her defender to sleep before draining the basket while being guarded closely. "I'm sorry the PAUSE, SCAN, and THREE???" the Sky wrote. Reese was named to both the All-Star and All-Rookie teams in 2024 after averaging 13.6 points and a league-record 13.1 rebounds per game in her first season. In her second year, she is still leading the league with 11.9 rebounds per contest, and she is also contributing 11.3 points per night. She has eight double-doubles this season as well. After Friday's game against the 7-7 Valkyries, the Sky will remain on the West Coast for the second game of their road trip. They will take on the 5-11 Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. ET at Arena. Buccaneers' Pass Catcher Predicted 'League-Winning WR' in Fantasy Football
Buccaneers' Pass Catcher Predicted 'League-Winning WR' in Fantasy Football originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Tampa Bay Buccaneers wideout Mike Evans has been underestimated throughout his entire pro career. All he's done is exceed expectations each and every campaign since being drafted by the Bucs. Advertisement Even after missing three games last season with a hamstring issue, Evans continued his record streak of 11 straight seasons with at least 1,000 yards receiving. This season, while many may be once again undervaluing his season at the age of 30, he's expected to excel in your fantasy football league. Derek Brown of Fantasy Pros thinks Evans will once again surpass expectations in your fantasy league. "Mike Evans has finished no lower than WR13 in fantasy points per game over the last four years, and he didn't show any signs of slowing down last year," Brown wrote. "While he has dealt with hamstring issues in each of the last three years, he has never played less than 14 games in any season. Last year, Evans ranked 23rd in target share, fifth in yards per route run, 16th in receiving yards per game, fourth in route win rate, and second in separation (per Fantasy Points Data). Evans is primed to produce as a WR1 again in 2025." Advertisement Evans has tallied at least 11 touchdowns in four of the past five years while finding the end zone 57 times during that period. The former Texas A&M Aggies pass catcher has never caught less than 70 passes in a season and has been targeted at least 110 times in 10 of the last 11 years. The last time he averaged less than 14 yards per catch was in 2016. You can continue to underestimate Evans' value in your fantasy league, but it'll be your own fault if you don't draft him early.
