Bridgerton actress Genevieve Chenneour is speaking out about a terrifying encounter that left her with a concussion.
Chenneour, 27, who played Clara Livingston in Season 3 of Netflix's hit period drama, opened up about the February 8 incident during an emotional appearance on This Morning. Chenneour recalled the moment her phone was stolen from inside a Joe & The Juice café in London's Kensington neighborhood, and how instincts kicked in when she decided to fight back.
"I had a bit of a sixth sense that something wasn't quite right," Chenneour shared. "As a woman, you have that kind of intuition, and I could feel people moving around me in a different way. But I only became aware of it when the incident had happened and in hindsight."
The shocking scene was caught on security footage, showing the actress confronting the thief in an altercation that lasted nearly five minutes, and spilled out from the café onto the street.
"It just was an instinct," she said of her decision to chase after the suspect. "I don't know what came over me. I thought that was a normal reaction, but then I read all the comments and realized, actually, a lot of people would let them take the phone."
Chenneour said her fight training from working on set, along with growing up with brothers, helped prepare her for the moment, even if it came with real risk. During the encounter, she says one of the suspects threatened to stab her "multiple times."
"It became a matter of—in my mind—a matter of life and death," she recounted. "So I did things like, I remember kicking him back with my leg to create space in case he had a weapon on him. It was a life-changing, crazy moment."
The physical toll was real. Chenneour revealed that she suffered a concussion, and emotionally, the experience left a lasting mark.
"I didn't want to go outside," she admitted. "And as a woman, we already have our wits about us around strangers and random men, so to have this happen to me—while dealing with that base level that a lot of women have—made me quite acrophobic. Leaving the house was really hard."
One of the suspects, Zacariah Boulares, has since pleaded guilty. And he's no stranger to violence, having previously served time for threatening to behead Welsh singer Aled Jones during a Rolex robbery. Boulares, 18, is scheduled to be sentenced on June 17 for the assault on Chenneour and another customer involved in the same incident.
But the second man Chenneour says threatened to stab her won't be facing charges.
"The man that threatened to stab me will not be going to court and has been released due to lack of evidence," Chenneour wrote in an Instagram Story following the ordeal. "I know karma will get him."
Despite the traumatic incident, the actress expressed gratitude for those who helped her in the aftermath.
"I'm so grateful to the staff at Joe & The Juice. They were incredible during the incident and when I went back to see them after," she shared.
Chenneour also took a moment to speak more broadly about what her experience represents.
"London has become increasingly dangerous, and this cannot be normalized," she said. "I'm not just speaking for myself, I'm speaking for every person who's had enough."

Six years after his onscreen son died, Adam Sandler paid tribute to Cameron Boyce with his latest movie. Excuse me while I sob,' wrote one viewer on X, sharing an image of the scene with what appears to be Boyce in an episode of Disney Channel's Jessie playing on a TV. Sandler's 2020 Netflix comedy Hubie Halloween featured a tribute to Boyce, who was supposed to appear in the film before he died. 'In loving memory of CAMERON BOYCE,' the tribute read. 'Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day.' Boyce — who was also known for his roles in Descendants, Jessie and Mrs. Fletcher — died in his sleep on July 6, 2019. His family noted at the time that his death was caused by 'an ongoing medical condition,' which was later revealed to be epilepsy. 'It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron,' a family rep said in a statement. 'He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. 'We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother,' they added. 'Happy Gilmore 2' star Haley Joel Osment makes first red carpet appearance since arrest

"Happy Gilmore 2" star Haley Joel Osment made a rare red carpet appearance months after his April arrest made headlines. The former child star, now 37, walked the film's red carpet Monday, July 21, at Lincoln Center in New York City. He wore a floral shirt, and white pants for the affair, pairing the look with a matching jacket and slip-on suede loafers. "The Sixth Sense" star appears in "Happy Gilmore 2" (released Friday, July 25 on Netflix) — the brainchild of comedian Adam Sandler — as new character Billy Jenkins in the sequel to the beloved 1996 golf comedy. Osment's appearance at the premiere marked his first major public outing since he was arrested this spring and charged with disorderly conduct for public alcohol intoxication and possession of cocaine at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area resort in Mammoth Lakes, California. 'Happy Gilmore 2': The wildest celebrity cameos, from Travis Kelce to Ken Jennings Earlier this year, Osment apologized for his use of a slur in a statement shared with People and the New York Post April 18 after his arrest footage surfaced. The footage, shared by Page Six, shows Osment calling an officer a "Nazi" and hurling an antisemitic slur about Jewish people. "You'll wish you treated me nicer," Osment said to the officer. As he was escorted into the jail in handcuffs by two officers, the actor said, "Good luck." Osment told the outlets that "I'm absolutely horrified by my behavior. Had I known I used this disgraceful language in the throes of a blackout, I would have spoken up sooner." He added that "the past few months of loss and displacement have broken me down to a very low emotional place." Osment continued: "But that's no excuse for using this disgusting word. From the bottom of my heart, I apologize to absolutely everyone that this hurts. What came out of my mouth was nonsensical garbage - I've let the Jewish community down and it devastates me. I don't ask for anyone's forgiveness, but I promise to atone for my terrible mistake." Contributing: Saman Shafiq

Fans Just Spotted This Late Disney Star in Adam Sandler's 'Happy Gilmore 2'

Fans Just Spotted This Late Disney Star in Adam Sandler's 'Happy Gilmore 2' originally appeared on Parade. Happy Gilmore 2 just dropped on Netflix Friday, July 25, and it's already making headlines. The long-awaited sequel to Adam Sandler's 1996 classic brings back the golf comedy chaos, complete with cameos from Travis Kelce, Eminem, Post Malone, and Bad Bunny. But one blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment is hitting fans especially hard: a cameo from the late Cameron Boyce. In one scene, a character working the check-in booth has a TV playing in the background. If you look closely, you'll catch the Disney Channel alum in the lower right corner—wearing a blue shirt and holding binoculars. Eagle-eyed fans quickly recognized the footage as a clip from Jessie, likely the episode where Boyce's character, Luke, breaks his leg and spends his time spying on the neighbors. The reactions rolled in fast. 'Happy Gilmore 2 was great. The honoring of Cameron Boyce was such a cute and awesome Easter egg. Bottom right of the screen they're watching them on TV. Adam Sandler you killed it,' one person posted on X (formerly Twitter). 'WHEN I SAW THAT I GASPED SO LOUD MY DOG LOOKED CONCERNED,' another quipped. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 'I wasn't going to watch happy gilmore 2 but finding out about the nod to cameron boyce had made me so emotional I just might,' chimed in a third. 'It actually makes me so heartbroken to think about what an amazingly talented and kind soul the world lost when he passed,' someone else said. 'IM SOBBING I COMPLETELY MISSED THIS,' added another. The moment may be subtle, but it wasn't the first time the 58-year-old 50 First Dates actor honored Boyce. The two worked together on the Grown Ups franchise, where Boyce played Sandler's on-screen son. After Boyce died in 2019 from an epileptic seizure at just 20 years old, Sandler paid tribute to him in Hubie Halloween, with a photo and message in the credits: 'Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day.' Boyce's Descendants co-stars and collaborators continue to keep his memory alive, too. On what would've been his 26th birthday in May, Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, and Booboo Stewart all posted tributes. 'i still feel you all the time. catch you in the next life. happy birthday. i love you,' Cameron, 29, shared alongside throwback photos and a close-up of her tattoo honoring him. 'Keep dancing in heaven, my Cam. Earth could never be the same without you,' Carson, 32, wrote. 'Our Angel. Our Sunshine. Our Cam.' Stewart, 31, posted a photo of the two drinking milkshakes on his Instagram Story, writing, 'Love you always, happy birthday @thecameronboyce.' Director Kenny Ortega also remembered him on Instagram, writing, 'You are love, light and forever with us.' Boyce was honored again in 2024's Descendants: The Rise of Red, where his character Carlos appears in a framed portrait and is referenced by name. China Anne McClain's character Uma looks at the photo and says, 'It's what Carlos would have wanted... Do it in honor of him.' That makes Happy Gilmore 2 the latest to pay tribute—and fans are taking note. While Sandler hasn't confirmed the moment, it lines up with his track record of honoring the people he's loved and worked with. And this small gesture?
