A FAMOUS UK theme park has closed its doors after serving customers for 100 years.
The seaside attraction has brought 'fun' and 'laughter' for holidaymakers for years, but now will be replaced by a major project.

Coney Beach amusement park in Porthcawl, Wales, first opened up in 1918.
It was reportedly built to entertain American troops in the UK, having been based on the famous Coney Island attraction in New York.
However, after serving customers for over 100 years, its owners - the Evans family - have decided to close the park.
The family took to social media to reveal the closure in a heartbreaking statement.
The statement read: "It is with heavy hearts we would like to share with you personally that this season at Coney Beach will be our last.
"We will be closing our gates for the final time this October.
"It's the end of an era. For over 100 years we and other showmen and their families have lived and worked in Porthcawl helping to make it a busy seaside destination bringing fun, laughter, and fond memories to so many.
"We will miss it greatly and while we are sad to see our time here come to an end we are forever grateful to have had the opportunity to have been part of so many generations of families' lives, young and old.
"Thank you for sharing our love of 'all the fun of the fair' and the legacy that Coney Beach leaves. The Evans family."
The Welsh Government has confirmed that it has successfully purchased sections of the 20-hectare site, which will be a key part of Bridgend Council's plan to regenerate Porthcawl.

As part of a mixed-use redevelopment in the area, a new housing estate, new retail business facilities, a new primary school and recreational and leisure facilities will be opened.
The news comes as the Welsh Government plans to ban popular lunchtime items for school children, in a bid to promote healthy eating.
Proposals for what can be served in schools from 2026 could see sugary cereals and white bread banned, as well as processed meats like gammon.
Fried chips could be served only once a week, while portion sizes will be adjusted to better meet the needs of different children.
The bans are being considered as one in four Welsh children are now categorised as overweight or obese.

Heartstopper's Joe Locke ‘thrilled' to make West End debut in Clarkston
The 21-year-old will appear in the play, written by Samuel D Hunter, alongside The Franchise actor Ruaridh Mollica and Welsh actress Sophie Melville when it launches this Autumn. Locke said: 'I'm thrilled to be making my West End debut in Clarkston. Samuel D Hunter's writing is so deeply human and honest that I immediately connected with the play when I read it.' A post shared by Clarkston (@clarkstonplay) Clarkston, directed by Jack Serio, tells the story of Jake, who is on a journey to discover himself when he unexpectedly meets Chris, a kindred soul working a night shift at a Costco in a rural American town. As the pair's bond deepens, so does their sense of adventure. Writer Hunter said of the play: 'I couldn't be more excited to bring Clarkston to London audiences, especially with this phenomenal cast and creative team. 'I've always adored the UK's theatre scene, so being able to share this play with audiences in the West End is truly a dream come true. 'This play draws from themes of the vast and isolated American West and the colonial past of the United States, but it's fundamentally a story about love and friendship in the midst of an unknown future, which is a prettyuniversal story these days.' Locke starred in all three seasons of Netflix's teen drama Heartstopper as Charlie Spring, a gay teen boy who falls in love with his classmate Nick Nelson (Kit Connor). The Manx star was nominated for outstanding lead performance at the Children's And Family Emmy Awards in 2022 for his role in the show. The actor has also appeared in Marvel's Agatha All Along miniseries and made his Broadway debut last year in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street. Further details, including ticket sale dates, are yet to be announced.

Online marketplace Apoc Store opens first shop in London
Digital fashion and art marketplace Apoc Store is opening its first physical shop. Having hosted several pop-ups in Paris, London and Berlin in recent months, Apoc Store is now taking the next step. The company announced on Instagram this week that it is opening its first permanent shop. It is located in the coworking and studio space Regent Studios at 8 Andrews Road in London's Tower Hamlets district. Apoc works closely with emerging creatives from the fields of fashion, art and design who offer one-off pieces and on-demand products. These include works for which old materials and everyday objects have been recycled and put into a new context. Fashion designers include Welsh designer Adam Jones, who also presents his collections during London Fashion Week; Izzy Du, a graduate of Central Saint Martins in London and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp; and the labels SF1OG and Sia Arnika, which have become an integral part of Berlin Fashion Week. The store, which opens on July 18, has no regular opening hours. It is accessible by appointment only, which can be booked on the Apoc website.
