Prince Harry and Prince William's Cousin, 20, Found Dead with Gun Nearby: Report
Rosie Roche, a cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry, has died at 20 years old.
Roche, who was the granddaughter of Princess Diana's uncle, died at her family's home in Norton, Wiltshire, on Monday, July 14, with a "firearm nearby," according to a report from The Sun.
The outlet reported that her mother and sister found her after she began packing for a vacation with friends, and a firearm was found close by inside the property.
A coroner in Wiltshire and Swindon has opened an investigation, which has been adjourned until Oct. 25, according to The Sun.
Coroner Grant Davies said that police "have deemed the death as non-suspicious and there was no third-party involvement," per The Sun.
Roche was a student at Durham University, and was working on her degree in English Literature.
A spokeswoman told The Sun that the royal family's cousin "will be sorely missed."
In an obituary published by the Yorkshire Post on Saturday, July 19, family members remembered her as a "darling" daughter, sister and granddaughter.
"Roche, Rosie Jeanne Burke. Died on Monday 14th July 2025," the obituary states. "Darling daughter of Hugh and Pippa, incredible sister to Archie and Agatha, Granddaughter to Derek and Rae Long."
"Private family funeral. A memorial service will be held at a later date," it added.
The news of the 20-year-old's death comes more than one year after Thomas Kingston, a British financier who was the husband of Lady Gabriella and former boyfriend of Pippa Middleton, died at age 45.
The Feb. 25, 2024 death of Kingston was described as 'impulsive" and "unexpected' at a pre-inquest review, according to the BBC. Kingston died from a catastrophic head injury, and a gun was found near his body at his parents' home in the Cotswolds, spokesperson for the coroner's office previously told PEOPLE.
In December, Lady Gabriella, who is a second cousin to King Charles, broke her silence during an inquest at Gloucestershire Coroner's Court, revealing the circumstances surrounding her husband's death.

In her emotional witness statement, Lady Gabriella, 43, expressed her belief that her late husband's "impulsive action" was likely triggered by medication he had been taking in the weeks leading up to his death, according to The Telegraph.
Roche's family and a spokesman for Prince William declined to comment to The Sun.
PEOPLE has reached out to the coroner for further details.

Police offer £20,000 reward for information over fatal stabbing
Police are offering £20,000 for any information into the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man in an east London park, a year after his death. Imran Maroof, 20, was killed on 27 July last year after reports of a fight in Plashet Park, Newham. Police officers arrived at the scene at 7.38pm to find the young man with stab injuries. Despite attempts by the emergency services to stabilise Mr Maroof, the Metropolitan Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene. A 16-year-old boy who could not be named for legal reasons was arrested the following month in connection with the murder, appearing later at Bexley Magistrates' Court, but he was subsequently released. A spokesperson for the force said the case against the teenager was then dropped. Detective Chief Inspector Samantha Townsend from Specialist Crime South said Mr Maroof's murder had a 'profound impact' on the young man's family, adding that the Met 'remains committed' to finding his killer. 'Imran's family and friends continue to live with the trauma,' she said. 'One year has passed since this senseless killing, and the Met remains committed to bringing those who killed Imran to justice. 'If you were in the vicinity of Plashet Park on the day of the stabbing or know anything that could help us, we need you to contact us.' Police have released a photo of the victim, with independent charity Crimestoppers offering a reward of up to £20,000 for information. Alexa Loukas, London regional manager for Crimestoppers, said: 'We know that some people may be reluctant or worried to speak directly to the police with information, which is why Crimestoppers is here. 'We are completely independent and guarantee you will remain 100% anonymous when you contact us. 'We offer a safe way for anyone to come forward and tell us what they know but not who they are. 'We are unable to identify any phone numbers or IP addresses if you are reporting online. 'Imran's family deserve answers, and we hope this reward will encourage someone to do the right thing and speak up with any information that may help the police.' Anyone with information is urged to call 101, quoting crime reference 6541/27JUL. Alternatively, to remain anonymous, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
