Kobe Bryant's Sister Selects Top 2 Greatest Players Of All Time; Makes Bold Statement As Her Brother Gets Disrespected

Kobe Bryant's Sister Selects Top 2 Greatest Players Of All Time; Makes Bold Statement As Her Brother Gets Disrespected originally appeared on Fadeaway World. Kobe Bryant has gone down as one of the greatest players in NBA history, but there is much debate on where exactly he should rank in the all-time list. Ask some of Bryant's contemporaries, and they'd have him as high as the top 3, while some in the media would rank him much lower. Recently, Bleacher Report released their list of the top 100 players of all time, and Bryant ranked 11th on it. That unsurprisingly caused an uproar, and a family member of the Lakers icon has now seemingly reacted to the list. Bryant's sister, Sharia Washington, put out a bold statement on Instagram, claiming that her brother and Michael Jordan are the unquestioned two greatest players of all time. "The only TOP 2. Y'all can debate the rest!" Washington isn't the first to rank Jordan and Bryant as the top two. It's a bit of an unpopular opinion nowadays, though, as LeBron James is widely viewed as the biggest threat to Jordan for that GOAT title. Washington somewhat subtly suggested she doesn't agree with that, as she posted another story in which Bryant is seen shooting over James. It shouldn't come as much surprise, of course, that Washington is backing her brother. She would share another story of Bryant acknowledging the crowd the night he scored 81 points in a game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto Raptors back in 2006. Only Wilt Chamberlain (100) has scored more points in an NBA game than Bryant. He had many such sensational scoring outbursts, and it's a big reason why he is held in such high regard. Does Bryant deserve to be ranked ahead of James, though? Let's take a look at their respective resumes. Bryant won five titles, two Finals MVPs, one MVP, and two scoring titles in his 20-year career with the Lakers. A resume like that would get you the edge over most people, but not in this case. James has won four titles, four Finals MVPs, four MVPs, one scoring title, and one assists title. He is also the NBA's all-time leading scorer, and there's a good reason why the GOAT debate nowadays generally involves just him and Jordan. As for Jordan, he won six titles, six Finals MVPs, five MVPs, one DPOY, and 10 scoring titles. He got the top spot on Bleacher Report's rankings, and James needs to do a bit more to surpass him. Getting back to Bryant, a spot in the top two might be beyond his reach, but you can make a strong argument for him to be in the top 10. We showed why he deserves to rank above three legends who were placed higher than him. Bryant splits opinion like few others do, but at the end of the day, there is no denying his greatness. Magic Johnson called him the best player ever to wear that Lakers jersey, and Washington reminded everyone about that by sharing the clip on Instagram. Here is what Johnson had to say. "He is not only a great and unbelievable sports icon, but also he's the greatest to wear the purple and gold," Johnson stated. Johnson made this comment before Bryant's final NBA game. He signed off in style that night, scoring 60 points against the Utah Jazz in what was a memorable story was originally reported by Fadeaway World on Jul 18, 2025, where it first appeared.

Spurs Summer League coach drops blunt take on Carter Bryant's struggles

The post Spurs Summer League coach drops blunt take on Carter Bryant's struggles appeared first on ClutchPoints. As much as he's stood out defensively during the NBA Summer League, San Antonio Spurs first-round lottery pick Carter Bryant has struggled offensively. His head coach during summer competition, Mike Noyes, also serves as the franchise's director of player development. 'With our roster, we hope he competes for playing time,' Noyes said. 'He brings a lot to the table and it's not just on the defensive end.' Given Noyes' standing within the organization, it stands to reason he means the San Antonio roster as opposed to his squad now or the Austin Spurs, where several of the summer players will land. For many years, the franchise sent their draft picks to their minor league affiliate during those rookie years. That protocol has changed recently. Their highest selections in each of the previous three years have spent their first campaigns with the big club. There's expectation that 2025 second overall pick Dylan Harper will follow the footsteps of Jeremy Sochan and Rookie of the Year winners Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle. Even before the Silver and Black's Summer League competition began in the California Classic, Bryant's status posed a bit of a question mark. Regarded as more athletic than skilled, relatively speaking for a 19-year-old, it's natural to ask whether Bryant will join the paths of 2022 Spurs first-round picks Malaki Branham and Blake Wesley, who both spent time in Austin before they were traded this summer. In Las Vegas, Nevada games against the Philadelphia 76ers, Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz, Bryant has shot 3/24 from the field, including 1/12 from three-point range. They're numbers Noyes dismisses. 'I couldn't be less worried about it. He's gonna make shots. He is an NBA player,' the UConn alum said. 'His defense has overshadowed his offense because he's been so good at times defensively. Carter has a great offensive game. The nerves out of the way, he understands his role.' Spurs' Carter Bryant opens up about offensive struggles As much as he's struggled offensively, Bryant has excelled defensively. A possession in which he chased Cooper Flagg all over the court before causing the number one overall pick to turn it over made the highlight reel and social media rounds. 'You're gonna look back and enjoy your career much more than you would have if you're like, 'Damn, I only made two shots.' I think I shot like 0-for-7,' Bryant said following that win vs. the Dallas Mavericks. 'Who cares? I got another one. I get to go and compete. So I'm just grateful to compete.' Bryant has sandwiched five-point outings around his two-point contest vs. the Mavs. 'This shot's going to fall, this shot's not gonna fall. At the end of the day, I've been shooting a basketball the same exact way since I was four or five years old,' Bryant said. Bryant's confidence in his offense hasn't taken a hit. In fact, the 2025 fourteenth overall pick says he'll be near the top by the time it's all said and done. 'I believe that I'm gonna be one of the best shooters in this league. Zero for seven from three-point line. That's not gonna define what I am as a basketball player.' Missing detail about Toby Sexton called out after Bulldogs axing for Lachie Galvin

Former NRL premiership winner Matty Johns has leapt to the defence of axed Bulldogs halfback Toby Sexton after flipping the narrative around teammate Lachie Galvin on its head. Canterbury coach Cameron Ciraldo made the brutal decision to dump Sexton in favour of Galvin for last week's nail-biting two-point win over the Dragons. The move ultimately paid dividends with Galvin setting up the match-winning try in the dying stages after throwing a superb cut-out pass to Jethro Rinakama. But it was hardly a dominant performance from the star recruit, who showed flashes of brilliance but still struggled to help take the Bulldogs attack to the next level. Ciraldo has spoken about the need to evolve his side's attack and come up with ways to try and break down the best teams and defensive structures in the competition. It's why many believe Ciraldo made the right choice by replacing Sexton with Galvin, after pointing out some of the unflattering attacking stats of the axed No.7. It was widely publicised before Sexton was dropped that he had not registered a single try assist in his past seven games. And critics also pointed out that he had the fewest try assists and line breaks of any of the halfbacks in the top four teams this season. Matty Johns takes aim at 'stats' after defending Toby Sexton But Johns said it was 'disrespectful' to discredit a player that had helped turn the previously struggling Bulldogs into a genuine premiership contender and said the stats don't tell the whole story. "One thing that does irk me a bit is the stat sheet that has been released to all the journalists on Toby Sexton," Johns began saying on SEN radio. "Saying 'oh look at this he's only got two this and that'. I just think that's so disrespectful given where Toby has taken that team. I just think he deserves a lot better than that. So it's pretty crook. "Stats tell a lie a lot of the time. And for Toby, yes he's not doing the same amount of try assists as Nathan (Cleary), those guys. But sometimes when you're in the halves it's the things you don't do that are really important. Like pushing your passes, overstepping your bounds and things like that. "Regardless of what he's done and try assists and what appears on the stats sheet, he has taken the Dogs - look where they were when he walked into that team - and look where they are now. And a lot of that is (down to) Toby." Ironically, some of the stats actually back up Johns' argument. One glance at the Bulldogs' win-loss record with and without Sexton, illustrates his influence on the team. Across the last two seasons, the Dogs have won just three of nine games (33%) when Sexton has not been playing, compared to 23 of 32 games (71.9%) when he has been in the team. RELATED: Major blow for Panthers as two players sign with Dragons Cameron Smith flags new role after missing gig to Kevin Walters But while former Bulldogs premiership winner Braith Anasta admitted that Sexton has done a sensational job at No.7 for the Dogs, he feels Galvin can ultimately take them to that next level to potentially win a premiership. 'It's not about winning right now, games, it's about winning the comp,' he said on NRL 360. 'That's the big shift here. They can win, they know they can win club games, and when it gets to the finals, we all know, the level goes up, it's elite, it's the best of the best, you've got to find another level. And they haven't found that for a while now, and they're looking for it.'
