Celebrity SAS Who Dares Win: What do they actually win?

The Special Forces are officially back in action for another series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Win as the Channel 4 reality show kicked off again last night [3 August], seeing 14 famous faces put through their paces in a series of difficult challenges. But if they make it all the way to the final episode, what do the celebs win? Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Win is in it's seventh season and sees 14 celebrities pitted against each other in a series of challenges designed and executed by former SAS staff, who are on site to guide and instruct the contestants. This year the cast includes drag artist Bimini, Love Island's Tasha Ghouri and winner of The Traitors' season two Harry Clark, and the group head to Wales where in the first episode they were challenged with diving into freezing cold water and then throwing a grenade at a 'hostage filled' building. But after they've completed all the challenges, reached the end of the series and eventually win the show, what is their actual prize? Here's what we know. Well ironically for a show called 'Who Dares Win' there is no actual prize for the winners of Celebrity SAS. Unlike other reality shows featuring celebrities, there's no cash prize for a charity of their choice such as is in the upcoming Celebrity Traitors. And unlike in I'm a Me Out of Here where the winner is named King or Queen of the jungle, and receives a crown and sceptre, the winner of Celebrity SAS literally just gets told they've passed the SAS process. The one exception to this is the first series of the celebrity version which was done in collaboration with Stand Up To Cancer and was done to raise funds for the charity. However, it does seem the pride and achievement of passing selection is the prize within itself for many celebrities. Georgia Harrison, who won last year's show, said of her win in an interview with the Daily Mirror: "It made me a lot stronger and it was almost like an actual turning point in my life to really overcome all the trauma and challenge I've been through the year before. "I'm like, 'Right this is my time to come back fighting, come back stringer and move into a whole new era of my life.' I've definitely felt a shift in my energy, my vibration, my ability to handle things." Though they don't win a cash prize, the celebrities are paid for appearing in the show and over the years there's been some very large salaries. Katie Price was reportedly paid £120,000 for her appearance on the show in 2020, Matt Hancock was said to be paid £45,000 to take part in the show back in 2023 and last year, despite being in the show for less than 24 hours John Barrowman was reportedly paid £30,000. Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver Fighting in ‘Marriage Story' Is Being Used by the USDA to Scare Off Wolves and Save Cattle: ‘They Need to Know Humans Are Bad'

A new report from The Wall Street Journal reveals that audio of Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver screaming at each other in Noah Baumbach's 'Marriage Story' is being used by the United States Department of Agriculture to scare off wolves from killing cattle and scaring livestock on farms across the America. The fight scene is the most emotionally volatile moment in Baumbach's 2019 drama, which earned both Johansson and Driver Oscar nominations. Per the WSJ: 'Riding to the rescue are drone cowhands, whose quadcopters have thermal cameras that can reveal any wolf lurking in the darkness and bathe it in a spotlight. A loudspeaker broadcasts alarming sounds like fireworks, gunshots and people arguing. One recording is of the fight between Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver in the movie 'Marriage Story.'' 'Wolf hazing,' as the practice is called, also uses loud music like AC/DC's 'Thunderstruck' to scare off deadly wolves. The USDA has relied on drones because gray wolves had long been on the federal government's list of endangered species. The process seems to be working. As the WSJ reported: 'Drones were deployed in the Klamath Basin of southern Oregon after 11 cows were killed by wolves there in a 20-day period. Over the next 85 days when drones were on patrol, only two were killed.' 'Marriage Story' stars Johansson and Driver as a couple going through a bitter divorce and custody battle over their son. The movie earned critical acclaim after premiering at the 2019 Venice Film Festival. Variety's Owen Gleiberman named 'Marriage Story' the second best movie of 2019. 'Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson, in spectacular performances that work together with searing intimacy, enact the anger, pride, despair, and passion of a couple who tear their relationship apart, and their souls too, even as they both struggle to remain whole inside,' Gleiberman wrote. ''Marriage Story' tells the story of divorce in our time, and in doing so it earns a place next to those harrowing and heartrending texts of separation, 'Kramer vs. Kramer' and 'Scenes from a Marriage.'' Marc Maron on ‘The Bad Guys 2,' His Reaction to Colbert's ‘Late Show' Being Canceled and Why Barack Obama Is His Dream Pick for Final ‘WTF' Guest

Marc Maron says his dream guest for his final episode of 'WTF With Marc Maron' would be Barack Obama. The former president appeared on a previous episode of Maron's show back in June 2015. 'Ground us a little bit.' In June, Maron made headlines when he and producer Brendan McDonald decided to end the podcast that launched in 2009. Maron made the announcement in an episode with John Mulaney as his guest. After recording more than 1,600 episodes, Maron said that the podcast will air its final episode in the fall. Coming off the heels of announcing the end of his podcast, Maron shared his reaction to the report on CBS cancelling the 'Late Show With Stephen Colbert.' 'The timing was bad,' he said. 'It seems that there was a political element, at least in appearance. To a certain degree, the message is that if corporations are going to buckle to the whims of an autocrat, an authoritarian, then all of art and what we know as freedom of expression is compromised. The writing is on the wall for late-night in general because people don't watch TV like that. I felt like a mixture of both. I don't think it's a complete fabrication that it was a business decision, but the other part of it, in terms of trying to appease this monster president, that should not be done.' When asked about how new mediums and digital platforms will shape the future of TV, Maron admitted that he was unsure of what's next. 'Show business is shrinking,' he said. 'People are entrepreneurial and building their own show businesses that eventually get appropriated and used by what's left of mainstream show business and streamers. Hopefully, enough interest and focus will be put on original productions, film and television. You have to hope for the best, or everything just turns to garbage.' In 'The Bad Guys 2,' Maron reprised his role as expert safecracker Mr. Snake. After struggling to find jobs as ex-convicts and framed for a crime they didn't commit, the Bad Guys are forced to complete another heist with newcomers, the Bad Girls. In the Bad Girls trio is a wry raven named Doom (aka Susan), whom Mr. Snake falls smitten for, and is voiced by Natasha Lyonne. 'She has no problem being flirty, seductive and uniquely sexy,' Maron said about working with Lyonne. 'I opened up to it and became jello. That was good for Mr. Snake. It worked that we were able to spend so much time in the studio together.' Rounding out the cast are Sam Rockwell (Mr. Wolf), Craig Robinson (Mr. Shark), Anthony Ramos (Mr. Piranha), Awkwafina (Ms. Tarantula), Alex Borstein (The Police Commissioner), Danielle Brooks (Kitty Kat) and Maria Bakalova (Pigtail). According to Maron, Mr. Snake and Doom's romantic trope was almost buried underneath the other plots present in the film. 'Originally, the romance got lost in the chaos of the ending with everything else going on,' he explained. 'When I saw an early cut, I told them, 'You started this thing. You should land it.' They realized it was an oversight, and they closed the circle.' Maron said having an off-screen friendship with Lyonne created 'a safe space' for building the chemistry between their characters. 'We let it happen,' he said. 'We know each other well enough to let that happen in a safe space. We pushed it. It was interesting because she takes me for a ride, which I think would be seen as a betrayal by some, but Mr. Snake was impressed with it. I liked playing that a little bit.'
