Has HYDRAA given exception to Akbaruddin, asks Bandi Sanjay

Hyderabad: The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs criticized the HYDRAA Commissioner over remarks that suggested he would not visit Akbaruddin College, which was reportedly built illegally on the land of Salkam Lake in the Old City. He described the HYDRAA Commissioner's comments as misguided and sought clarification on whether the decision was a directive from the state government or made independently by the officer involved.
Sanjay Kumar questioned whether Akbaruddin Owaisi enjoys any special privileges and why he should be exempt from regulations. He raised a series of pressing questions, asking why the official did not demolish the homes of thousands of poor individuals living in huts and small houses in the Musi catchment area. He emphasized that these people are human beings whose lives have value. Why, he asked, had no notice been issued to the management of Akbaruddin College regarding the construction on allegedly encroached land? Would it not have been adequate to issue a notice to vacate immediately and schedule the demolition for after the academic year? He questioned whether the value of life applies only to the Akbaruddin family while the poor are disregarded.
The Karimnagar MP also noted that Owaisi's supporters, who attack constables, seem to be rewarded for their actions. 'Are they rewarded for occupying government and private lands or for associating with those linked to terrorism? Is this the standard we are setting?' he asked. He demanded clarification on whether HYDRAA has granted exemptions for Owaisi's properties and whether his supporters can act with impunity. He insisted that the Chief Minister should respond immediately.
He recalled that both he and CM Revanth Reddy were jailed under allegations of leaking the Class X Hindi question paper and flying a drone, respectively. The Karimnagar MP also questioned why no action has been taken regarding the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) corruption, phone tapping scandal, irregularities in formula racing, the drug scandal, farmhouse irregularities, sheep procurement issues, and power purchasing scandals. He wondered if the law had become the puppet of BRS chief KCR under the Congress government.
Lastly, the Union Minister warned against targeted attacks on media freedom and the intimidation of journalists by the BRS. 'The Congress government's protection of such individuals exposes its incompetence. The BJP is prepared to defend democracy and support the media. Thousands of workers in Telangana will unite in this fight,' he stated.

Congress betrayed farmers, CM escaped accountability: KTR's scathing attack on Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], July 8 (ANI): In a strong rebuttal to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's public challenge, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) arrived at the Somajiguda Press Club on Tuesday at 11:00 am, fully prepared for an open debate on issues concerning Telangana's farmers, according to an official statement. The debate was originally called for by the Chief Minister, who had asked for an open discussion on what the Congress and BRS governments have done for the farming community. However, to the surprise of many, the Chief Minister failed to show up, reportedly travelling to Delhi instead. In a statement, KTR, accompanied by senior BRS leaders, elected representatives, and a large number of party workers, waited at the venue for nearly thirty minutes. Addressing the media after the wait, KTR accused Revanth Reddy of 'running away from his own challenge.' He said that the CM's absence only proves that the Congress government has no meaningful answers for the crisis facing Telangana's farmers. 'Over 600 farmers have died by suicide since the Congress came to power. Did the Chief Minister even observe a minute's silence for them?' KTR asked. He further slammed the Congress regime for failing to fulfil its promises made during the election campaign. 'Revanth said six guarantees would be implemented within 100 days. It's been 18 months and not even one has been delivered,' KTR said in a release. KTR stated that he had come to the press club with complete data -- including names and contact details of hundreds of farmers in Kodangal who haven't received Rythu Bharosa, a list of farmers whose loans were not waived, and details of those who lost their lives due to crop losses and neglect. 'I was ready to have a fact-based discussion in front of the media and the people. But the Chief Minister, who makes tall claims, ran away when it came to accountability,' he added. Criticising Revanth Reddy's governance, KTR said the Congress government has dragged the state back into the dark days of fertiliser shortages, transformer explosions, and long queues outside supply depots. He compared the present rule to an 'Indiramma Emergency' -- referencing both the emergency-like suppression of dissent and the betrayal of welfare expectations associated with the Congress slogan. KTR also questioned the CM's knowledge of Telangana's irrigation projects, saying Revanth lacked even a basic understanding of river basin allocations and water rights. Further, KTR accused the Chief Minister of functioning as a covert agent of Chandrababu Naidu, facilitating the diversion of Telangana's Krishna and Godavari waters to Andhra Pradesh. 'Revanth Reddy is betraying Telangana's farmers and sending water to his political master in Andhra, all while pretending to champion Telangana's interests,' he alleged. Taking a dig at the CM's rhetoric, KTR said, 'Revanth knows how to scream and abuse, but when it comes to debating facts, he disappears. He challenged me, and I came. But he ran. Even if he couldn't attend, he should've sent the Deputy CM or the Agriculture Minister.' Concluding his remarks, KTR offered Revanth Reddy one final opportunity. 'Choose the time, date, and place. We are ready for an open debate anywhere. Even Jubilee Hills Palace, if that suits him. But don't issue hollow challenges and run away. If you can't face a discussion, then apologise to KCR garu and to the farmers of Telangana for your lies and failures,' he said. (ANI)

Telangana High Court refuses to grant relief in Bathukamma Kunta lake land dispute

The Telangana High Court on Tuesday refused to grant any interim relief to a petitioner who claimed that land in his possession is now submerged and located inside the recently restored Bathukamma Kunta lake in Hyderabad's Bagh Amberpet area. While the petitioner contended that the disputed land was only a low-lying area that was dug up further and subsequently collected rainwater to form a lake, the court looked at recent photographs of the lake restored by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA) to refuse interim relief to the petitioner. Justice B Vijaysen Reddy was dealing with the petitioner's claim that the land measuring 988.49 sq m was never formally acquired by the state under the Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Act 1976 and that the acquisition proceedings under this Act remained incomplete. Despite this, the petitioner alleged, the land was unilaterally designated for public or conservation purposes in the master plan and a low-lying area has been dug up further to create a lake. The plea asked the court to set aside G.O. Ms. No. 363 dated August 21, 2010, and subsequently G.O. Ms. No. 120 dated December 2, 2010, but only to the extent that these orders affect the specific property. The core of the argument is that if the land was never legally acquired, the government has no right to alter its classification or ownership status in official records or planning documents. Appearing for the petitioner, senior counsel B Mayur Reddy said the state was wrongfully claiming that a lake existed at the place, and showed a photograph to this effect. He asked the state to formally acquire the land before declaring the site as a lake. The government pleader, opposing the petitioner's claims, argued that the entire five-acre land was now a part of the restored Bathukamma Kunta lake. He then submitted photographs of a water-filled lake to state that no land of the petitioner existed within the disputed area. Reddy said that if the court could consider a photograph with a lake, he could submit a photograph of the same place without a lake and also submit photographs showing bulldozers digging up the land to create the lake. Adding that the photographs do not reveal there is any land available on the sides of the lake, the judge asked the senior counsel to show the actual location of his land within the lake site before further proceedings. The case was adjourned for a date two weeks later.
