Gurgaon: The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) conducted the Common Eligibility Test (CET) 2025 over the weekend. Held in four sessions across 145 examination centres in the city on Saturday and Sunday, a total of 1,32,209 candidates appeared for the exam.
According to official data, 33,040 candidates appeared in the first session on Saturday, followed by 32,963 in the second. On Sunday, 33,108 candidates took the morning session, and 33,098 appeared in the afternoon session. To facilitate the transportation of Faridabad-based candidates to centres in Gurgaon, 135 buses were arranged in both sessions over two days.
Deputy commissioner Ajay Kumar visited examination centres on Sunday and kept a close watch on arrangements throughout the day.

Following the peaceful and successful conclusion of the examination, he extended congratulations to the police department, transport officials, GMCBL, and the entire district team for their efforts. Teams from administration, police, and civil defence also played a crucial role in helping candidates reach their respective centres efficiently.
The district control room assisted more than 1,500 candidates, reflecting the administration's commitment to a smooth examination process.

LIVE Blog HSSC Haryana CET 2025: Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) has successfully conducted the Common Eligibility Test (CET) 2025 on 6th July and 27th July, 2025 in two shifts, first shift was from 10 AM to 11:45 AM and the timing of second shift was from 3:15 PM to 5 PM. And now the exam is done, the commission is expected to release the answer key soon. However no official date has been announced yet. The commission will first release the provisional answer key and candidates are given time to raise their objections against the answer key and then final answer key will be released. The examination was conducted in an offline, OMR-based mode and will follow an objective, multiple-choice question (MCQ) pattern. It was held in both Hindi and English mediums. The test was a total of 100 questions carrying 100 marks, with a duration of 1 hour 45 minutes, which includes 5 minutes allotted for filling in the fifth option. Tara Murali, architect and activist, passes away at 75

CHENNAI: Architect and activist Tara Murali passed away at her residence in Alwarpet on Saturday night, at the age of 75. Tara was an alumnus of Madras University, where she pursued her bachelor's degree in architecture. She then worked for a Chennai-based architecture firm and was also the secretary of the Indian Institute of Architects. Tara was vice president of the Palani Hills Conservation Council, which was formed in 1985 by a group of ecologists, botanists and environmentalists to work towards sustainable development. The group petitioned the High Court of Madras against the state government's 1994 order that granted an exemption to the Pleasant Stay Hotel to construct a seven-floor building. In the legal battle, led by Tara, the PHCC obtained a stay from the Madras High Court, which also quashed the Government Order allowing the construction.

Over 58,000 aspirants appeared at examination centres across Chandigarh and Panchkula on the second and last day of Haryana Staff Selection Commission's (HSSC) Common Eligibility Test (CET). The exam conducted for the Group C posts, expected to see nearly 13.7 lakh candidates appear across Haryana and Chandigarh in total over two days. On Sunday, the exam was conducted in two shifts, from 10 am to 11.45 am and 3pm to 4.45 pm. The Haryana government provided free home-to-centre transportation for 53 differently-abled candidates in Panchkula district. (HT Photo) Out of 40,000 registered aspirants for 153 centres in Chandigarh on Day 2, approximately 37,500 appeared for the exam. In Panchkula, the second day of CET had approximately 21,000 candidates appearing across all 44 examination centres. According to the administration, forty-six buses ferried Panchkula candidates to Yamunanagar, while 256 buses brought examinees from Karnal and Kaithal districts to Panchkula. Deputy commissioner Monika Gupta detailed the extensive bus operations, ensuring timely arrivals and departures across shifts and locations. Adding to these efforts, the Haryana government provided free home-to-centre transportation for 53 differently-abled candidates in Panchkula district. With centres located in Chandigarh, the district administration arranged door-to-door pick-up and drop-off services. Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on X mentioned about successfully conducting the exam all over.
