Gardai hunt youths who set up elaborate hoax in cruel roadside stunt
The incident, which happened in the village of Milford on Sunday night last, left a terrified motorist thinking they had hit a real person.
The shocking incident occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday on the R245 at The Pans, Cranford at around 12:30am.
The motorist jumped out of their car and made a shocking discovery.
After getting out of the car the driver found the body shaped object was dressed in dark clothing that had been stuffed with bags and covered in ketchup.
The driver and passenger of the vehicle were left shaken following the bizarre incident.
Damage was also caused to the car as a result of the collision.

A Garda spokesperson said 'We are following a definite line of enquiry in relation to this incident and we are anxious to speak with anyone who may have travelled in that area and who may have observed a white car with three young males on board parked up nearby.
'This car is believed to have been in the area around the time of the collision and then immediately left in the direction of Carrigart'.
Anyone who may have travelled along that route with a dash-cam between midnight and 1am on that date is urged to make the footage available to Gardaí.
'If anyone travelled within the Carrigart area between 12.30am and 1.30am with a dash-cam, we ask them to get in touch with us also,' Garda Doherty added.
'We are very anxious to progress this investigation and we appeal to the males in question to make contact with Gardaí in Milford on 074 9153060. As already stated, we are following a definite line of enquiry and all available CCTV is being sought and examined. Those involved in this very serious matter are advised to make contact with investigating Gardaí."

Grieving mum of drowning victim Freya Tobin thanks community for their support
The grieving mum and nanny of Freya Tobin, who died after getting into difficulty in the River Suir two weeks ago, have thanked the local community who 'rallied around' them in the 'darkest time of our lives.' Freya, from Newcastle, Co Tipperary, drowned after she got into difficulty while swimming in the River Suir on Friday, July 11 at around 4.20pm. It is understood that Freya along with another friend both got into difficulty swimming around the same time. Freya's friend managed to swim to safety and raise the alarm. A number of local boys heard the screams of the girls and dived into the water to help. A beautiful, dark haired little baby with the most beautiful, piercing blue eyes. I named her Freya, after the Goddess of love and beauty, and by God, did she honour that name. 'She instantly filled mine and my family's life with so much love. Her funny, happy and caring personality only grew stronger as each year passed. She was not only my daughter, but my best friend and my life. 'She shone a light even on the darkest of days,' Freya's mam's tribute continued. 'I was so proud of how much love she brought to everyone, no matter where she was, and I'll never forget the way that Freya would light up her room just by entering it, the brightness she brought would never fade.' Conor McGregor's pub on fire as emergency services battle to contain the blaze
Firefighters were battling to put out a blaze at Conor McGregor's pub in Dublin on Friday morning. The emergency services were called after flames and thick clouds of smoke were seen coming from the Black Forge Inn on the Drimnagh Road. Firefighters and a squad of police sped to the Dublin pub, which UFC star McGregor bought for close to €2 million in 2019. The Dublin boozer has previously been the target of a petrol bomb attack. In 2022, less than a year after McGregor reopened the pub after pumping millions into a renovation, Garda were called to investigate after two petrol bombs were thrown at the premises. A few weeks ago, American rapper 50 Cent partied with McGregor at the Dublin pub, which has also hosted the likes of comedian Kevin Hart and Arsenal legend Ian Wright. The fire at the Black Forge Inn comes after what has been a turbulent week for McGregor. Four women, one man arrested in pro-Palestine protests in Dublin
Five people were arrested in various locations this week amid a series of actions and protests related to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza . A woman was arrested and later released after protesters sought to block a car from leaving the Egyptian embassy on Wednesday. Three women and a man were then arrested on Thursday at a separate location in Dublin, said by the protesters involved to be the Department of Justice , and later released. The Wednesday protest at the continued closure of the Rafah crossing between Palestine 's Gaza Strip and Egypt took place after a public meeting at the nearby US embassy in Ballsbridge. READ MORE It is understood the woman who was arrested approached the Egyptian embassy to hand in a letter of protest. A spokesman for An Garda Síochána said gardaí were alerted to a public order incident and directed individuals to leave. 'One female, aged in her 40s, was arrested under the Public Order Act and taken to a Garda station in Dublin south central. She was released without charge to be dealt with under the adult caution scheme,' the spokesman said. Three women and a man were arrested on Thursday at a separate location in Dublin and later released. A Garda spokesman said the force was alerted to a public order incident on St Stephen's Green at approximately 2.45pm, again instructing them to vacate. 'Three women (30s and 40s) and a man (50s) were arrested under the Public Order Act and conveyed to a Garda station in Dublin city centre,' he said. 'They have all since been released without charge, to be considered under the adult caution scheme.' Sara White (39) told The Irish Times she was one of the four pro-Palestine protesters brought to Pearse Street Garda station. Ms White said the members of a 'rainbow coalition group' of activists were protesting at the Department of Justice when the arrests took place. They planned 'to deliver a letter to the Ministers demanding [the] recalling of the Dáil so they could put pressure to open the borders to Gaza and let aid in,' she said. 'We had posters, we had pots and pans, we made noise, we asked repeatedly to speak and hand-deliver our letter and were refused.' Ms White said the group was there for 30 to 40 minutes before gardaí came, after being warned that they were trespassing. Ms White said the four were placed in cells and released at approximately 6.30pm without questioning. Activist group Mothers Against Genocide shared a statement on social media on Thursday afternoon demanding the release of the four people who were arrested, which it said included one of their own members.
