Katie Price worries fans with appearance in family photo after explaining weight loss

Daily Mirrora day ago
Katie Price shared a family photo of herself beside two relatives this week and it prompted reaction on social media, following her having previously addressed concern from fans
Reality TV star Katie Price has sparked renewed concern over her appearance this week. It came after she shared a photo of herself beside two relatives, taken whilst enjoying some time with her family, in a post on social media.

The photo showed Katie, 47, stood beside her nieces in an outdoor area. The former glamour model was seen wearing a white top, a grey jacket, black leggings and white trainers whilst posing with her arms around her loved ones.

It was one of several "family time" photos shared by Katie on Facebook yesterday and she wrote in the caption of that post: "My beautiful nieces." She was met with concern on the platform, which comes after Katie revealed her weight last month amid people being "obsessed" over it.

Amidst trolling and jokes about her appearance, several people expressed concern in the comments section. One person wrote: "Katie you look painfully thin." Another said in their reaction: "Her legs don't look real." Someone wrote: "Wow, not much left of Katie. I don't know if this is a healthy look."
Others defended Katie against the commentary that her post had prompted on the platform this week. It included one fan criticising those who poked fun over her appearance, with them suggesting that the reaction was "hurtful".

The fan wrote in the comments section: "It's disappointing to see people making jokes about someone's body, especially when they don't know them personally." They added: "It's not only hurtful but also sets a bad example for children."
Defending Katie, another person wrote: "Wow these comments are vile this [woman] obviously struggles with her appearance. In a world where you can be anything be kind. All the hates she gets and this [woman] is still smiling."

It isn't the first time that Katie has faced trolling and concern over her appearance. The former I'm A Celebrity star has previously spoken about having lost weight in recent years and addressed the concern she has been subjected to.
As reported earlier this year, Katie shared that she had "wanted" to lose weight. She's suggested that it came after she gained weight whilst recovering from a broken foot a few years ago and then subsequently through IVF treatment.
On her podcast, the Katie Price Show, in January, she said: "Everyone's said I've got skinny and that." Her sister Sophie Price said: "You've got well thin." Katie said: "I know. But there's a reason. If anyone Google's me, I've always been skinny."

Katie added: "But people have to remember, when I broke my feet, I was in a wheelchair, not active - before that I was running all the time. Then I've gone through IVF three times [and] that pumps you and puts weight on - I haven't done anything."
She continued in the discussion on her podcast at the time: "Now I've realised when I was eating pasta, oats, or milk or anything, it bloats me. [...] So I've been avoiding stuff like that and not feeling so sluggish and tired after."

Katie Price reveals her family's fears about her weight loss as her stepdad Paul voices his concern

Katie Price has revealed her family are worried about her drastic weight loss with her stepfather Paul voicing his concerns. The former glamour model, 47, has sparked concerns among fans over her rapid weight loss in recent months, revealing she weighed just 7st 12lb back in June. Speaking on her podcast The Katie Price Show, Katie has revealed that her family have echoed the concerns, but she insisted she is 'happy'. Katie appeared on the episode with her sister Sophie and her stepfather Paul, who voiced his concerns about her weight. 'Look how thin them legs are, terrible they are, my hand can go round them,' he worriedly shared. However, Katie replied: 'They're obsessed with my weight,' before Sophie also voiced her worries, adding: 'You are thin.' Katie then insisted that she is 'happy' but Paul replied: 'No it's not right, it's probably that vaping c**p.' The TV personality admitted her parents have shared their concern that she might have an eating disorder - which she denied. Sophie then told Katie that their mother Amy had called her to share her worries over her continuing weight loss. Sophie said: 'Mum called me the other day and said I'm going to have a word with Kate because she's too thin. I think mum saw a picture on Instagram and she wasn't happy.' However, Katie again replied: 'My legs do look thin, but I like it,' putting an end to the conversation. Katie has an extremely close relationship with her stepfather Paul, who has been in her life since she was three years old and she now shares his surname, Price. She has a distant relationship with her biological father Ray Infield, who left the family when she was an infant. Katie's mother Amy has previously admitted she believes her daughter suffers from body dysmorphia amid concerns over the star's weight loss. Body dysmorphia, or body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), is a condition where a person obsessively worries about apparent flaws in their appearance. Speaking to Vanessa Feltz on her TalkTV show in 2023, Amy confessed that she 'absolutely hates it' when Katie goes under the knife. When Vanessa asked her for her feelings on Katie's surgeries, Amy said: 'I absolutely hate it and she knows it. 'I think she, and I got her to admit it the other day, "you've got body dysmorphia". I don't know what it is. 'You know you look all right but why do you think you need to tweak this, tweak that or have a tattoo or change her hair?' Last year, Katie explained that she has never been happy with her body while speaking on The Louis Theroux Podcast. 'I always said I haven't got body dysmorphia but there's definitely something, I don't know what it is,' she shared. 'I've never looked in the mirror and thought I'm pretty or whatever.' Katie has undergone an array of procedures over the years, including rhinoplasty, a silhouette facelift, 3D, veneers, a face lift, and lip fillers and Botox. But the media personality admitted that a botched Brazilian butt lift (BBL) remains her most painful and regrettable procedure to date. Opening up to Katherine Ryan on her What's My Age Again? podcast in June, she said: 'I tried that BBL abroad where they take your own fat and put it in your bum.

Jeremy Strong eyed to play Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network sequel

Jeremy Strong is reportedly the leading choice to play Mark Zuckerberg in the upcoming sequel to The Social Network. According to Deadline and Variety, sources claim that though no formal offer has been made, the Succession actor is the preferred pick to play the Meta CEO and Facebook founder in the Social Network Part II, alongside The Bear's Jeremy Allen White and Anora's Mikey Madison in unspecified roles. Aaron Sorkin, who won a best adapted screenplay Oscar for the first film, will write and direct the new entry after years of tinkering with a new angle to the story of Facebook. David Fincher directed the 2010 film, which starred Jesse Eisenberg as Zuckerberg alongside Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Armie Hammer and Rashida Jones. The Social Network Part II, confirmed to be in development this June, will reportedly not be a straightforward sequel to the story of Facebook's founding in a Harvard dorm room, but rather a follow-up focusing on recent controversy surrounding the social media behemoth. The new screenplay will be based on reporting by Jeff Horowitz for the Wall Street Journal in a series called The Facebook Files, which explored the inner workings and harm caused by the company. The 2021 investigation exposed how internal findings had been buried, as well as Facebook's influence on the January 6 riot and the mental health of teenage users. Deadline reports that White would ideally play Horowitz, with Madison – fresh off her best actress Oscar win this March – playing the whistleblower at the heart of the articles. Sorkin had previously teased more overt political leanings for the new script. 'I blame Facebook for January 6,' he said in 2024 on a special edition of The Town podcast, live from Washington DC. When asked to explain why, he responded: 'You're gonna need to buy a movie ticket. 'Facebook has been, among other things, tuning its algorithm to promote the most divisive material possible,' Sorkin said. He added: 'There is supposed to be a constant tension at Facebook between growth and integrity – there isn't.' The Social Network, based on the book The Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich, made $224m worldwide in 2010 and won three Oscars – best adapted screenplay, original score and editing. Eisenberg, who was nominated for his starring role, is yet to be attached to the project. In a recent podcast interview, Zuckerberg was critical of the film, which portrayed him as calculating and ruthless. 'It was weird, man,' he said. 'They got all these very specific details of what I was wearing, or these specific things correct, but then the whole narrative arc around my motivations and all this stuff were, like, completely wrong.' Strong received an Emmy for his portrayal of Succession's Kendall Roy on the acclaimed HBO series, among many other accolades. He was nominated for an Oscar this year for playing the fearsome attorney and Donald Trump mentor Roy Cohn in The Apprentice, Ali Abbasi's film tracing the young Trump's rise in 1980s New York. He will next appear on-screen alongside White in the Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me from Nowhere, playing the record producer and Springsteen collaborator Jon Landau.
