NEW DELHI: Heavy rain lashed parts of Delhi-NCR early on Thursday, leading to major problems, including waterlogged roads, traffic congestion, and disruption to daily routines in several key areas.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the rain is expected to continue until 5 August.

Areas such as South East, East, Shahdara, Central, North East, South, New Delhi, South West, West, North West, and North Delhi may experience more rain and thunderstorms. This could cause repeated traffic issues and waterlogged roads.
The rainfall has helped reduce pollution levels in the city.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), July 2025 recorded the cleanest air in Delhi in over 10 years.
The average Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 79.

IMD officials have warned of potential waterlogging in urban areas like Gurgaon, especially if the rainfall intensifies midweek. Residents in low-lying localities or areas prone to drainage issues have been advised to remain cautious. On Saturday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 31.7 degrees Celsius, a slight dip of 0.1 degrees Celsius from the previous day, while the minimum rose to 26 degrees Celsius—up by 0.4 degrees Celsius. Rainfall was measured at 1.5mm, according to data from the KVK automatic weather station (AWS).
