Super Bowl Snack Attack: L.A.'s Best Bites for Game Day
_YOU'D PROBABLY BE lucky to get a bowl of Chex Mix if you attended a house party for the first Super Bowl, held in L.A. in 1967. Today, some hosts knock themselves out, spending days preparing vast spreads of homemade treats or building miniature stadiums out of cardboard and chazerai.
'Super Bowl is usually chips and salsa,' says Chrys Chrys of Papa Cristo's, the legendary Greek restaurant and market that anchors the city's Byzantine-Latino Quarter. 'But then you've got people who want to show respect to their guests and show them a nice party.'We won't tell anyone if you substitute some of these takeout treasures in place of a scratch-made spread. All of it will likely be gone before Compton's own Kendrick Lamar takes the stage at halftime. And the beef from Baby Blues BBQ ain't gonna start a feud with Drake._
Jameson's Pub
WITH LOCATIONS in Hollywood, Santa Monica and Culver City, Jameson's Pub is not only a packed spot for Super Bowl watching, it's also a great place for takeout bites. The pub is famous for its mouth-watering prime rib sliders, which is our pick no matter what team you root for.

This BBQ emporium has been a favorite for grill fanatics, and now's the time to place Super Bowl orders. There is no beating the family platter — a delectable mix of a half-rack of baby back ribs and a half-rack of Memphis-style ribs — or any meat combo with two sides and dream-worthy cornbread.

Throughout the month of July, more than 70 restaurants in the Gables will offer specially priced lunch and dinner menus as well as other promotional deals. The list of participants includes culinary favorites like Niven Patel's Italian restaurant Erba, which was hailed by Esquire magazine as one of the best new restaurants of 2023; Thomas Keller's French Bouchon Bistro; the Michelin-recognized Asian spot Kojin; and the Michelin-starred omakase counter Shingo. Belkys Perez, economic development director for the city, said that the program aims to highlight the culinary talent in the area as well as help out restaurants that usually see business drop off during the long, hot Miami summer. 'Taste the Gables gives residents and visitors alike a reason to explore our restaurants, try new flavors and support local businesses during a traditionally slower time of year,' she said. The promotion is also way for restaurants to encourage locals to to try their cuisine. Lounge just launched a stunning collection of satin, lace and cotton dresses, and we‘ll be wearing them all summer
Listen, we love a good sexy lingerie moment, but when our fave brand for bras, undies and swimwear decides to expand into clothing, shoes, and accessories? We pay attention. Lounge's latest drop — the Al Fresco Collection — has officially entered the chat, and it's giving major La Dolce Vita energy. From summer dresses cut from gorgeous Broderie Anglaise to lingerie-inspired slips, sculptural corsets, floaty chiffon tops, and the brand's first-ever handbag line (hello, dream capsule wardrobe!), the Al Fresco edit is a sun-drenched ode to summers spent frolicking on the Italian coast. Shop Lounge's Al Fresco Collection 'This summer clothing collection is inspired by the Lounge brand itself,' explains Senior Product Designer, Hannah Brown, in a press statement. 'We love the soft, pretty lace and prints combined with details that emulate underwear, and we hope the capsule collection of lingerie-inspired dresses allows women to feel elegant and sexy all summer long.' Translation? It's that sweet spot between effortless and alluring. Dresses that slip on like a second skin but look like you spent hours getting ready. Structured corsets with just the right amount of stretch and silhouettes that make you feel like you're that girl. With every piece available in UK sizes 6–16, Al Fresco isn't just another capsule — it's the moment. And trust us: you're gonna want it all. If your summer calendar is filled with everything from rooftop drinks to wedding guest duties and perhaps a last-minute Amalfi getaway (a girl can dream), Lounge designed this collection with your Pinterest board in mind. Created by an all-female design team — we love — the collection is rooted in Italian elegance with a modern, wearable twist. Think: lacy fabrics, dreamy cottons, and liquid-like satins that remind you serving main character energy doesn't need to come at the expense of comfort. There's always that one piece that steals the spotlight. In Al Fresco, it's the polka dot maxi dress — and yep, it's already on our wish list. Tailored to perfection and steeped in nostalgia, the black-and-white number is playful without being fussy, and classic without feeling predictable. Pair it with barely-there kitten heels and a dainty bow for date night, or style with chunky walking sandals for a day of city strutting. Versatility? Check. Compliments? Guaranteed. And don't even get us started on the blue beauties in this edit. Lounge's signature baby blue hue shows up in flirty designs that are sculptural enough to make you feel like a walking work of art. It certainly does, and it's the highlight of the drop. Lounge has nailed lingerie, stunned us with its gorge clothing silhouettes and super-cute shoes (have you seen the gingham kitten heels?!) – and now, a luxe new accessories line is stealing the spotlight. Designed to pair seamlessly with the floaty silhouettes in the Al Fresco edit, these handbags are all about elevating your everyday. We're talking buttery leather, discreet foil logos, and just the right amount of gold hardware to whisper 'expensive' without going OTT. 'The aim was to design elevated, everyday accessories that enhance her wardrobe with a distinctive touch,' says Senior Product Designer, Georgie Beattie. 'We wanted every bag to feel premium, personal, and perfectly on-brand.' Whether you're headed to a garden party, a golden-hour dinner, or a spontaneous city break, these sleek, structured pieces go wherever you go — and instantly add that missing je ne sais quoi to your look. Once known for making the comfiest wireless bras and hottest lacy sets, Lounge is officially stepping into its fashion house era — and honestly? We're obsessed. Al Fresco is romantic but wearable, girlish but fierce, and with its mix of lingerie roots, dreamy fabrics, and detailed tailoring, it's basically your summer wardrobe in one pretty little capsule. Shop Lounge's Al Fresco Collection Follow Shadé on Instagram. Shadé (pronounced sh-ah-day) is the Senior Fashion & Lifestyle Ecommerce Writer at Cosmopolitan UK. Drake's New Shirtless Selfie Leads To More BBL Jokes and Tummy Tuck Allegations
Source: Cole Burston / Getty The rap beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar has had two very different effects on their immediate career trajectories. Kendrick dropped a new album in GNX , performed at the Super Bowl, and won five Grammys. But Drake just can't seem to shake an onslaught of criticism that only heightens with each social media post. His latest perceived misstep is a shirtless selfie he posted to Instagram showing off his abs in the mirror. The impromptu selfie covers his face and appears to have been taken near his bar, as a bunch of bottles of whiskey and tequila are shown on his shelves. Other photos in the carousel show him embracing the Texas lifestyle, like jogging on his property, a pair of sneaker-infused cowboy boots, and a rainy shot of his four-wheeler. In his usual move, the caption is some throwaway lyrics, which read, ' I'm wide awake for the nights that separate the type who get to it til they get it right from the type who just …type.' Drake showing off his gym gains is something he's done before, but since the beef reignited, unfounded allegations that he underwent liposuction or a tummy tuck are back making the rounds. Social media comments were hardly in his favor, with one writing, 'The untoned arms, but the super defined abs, Drake. I know what you are.' 'Drake fake abs look like the precut cookie dough squares omg,' another chimed in. Another claimed he could have just locked in for real results, adding, 'Access to the best trainers and healthiest food in the world, but chose to go to a plastic surgeon for fake abs. What a b-tch.' Kendrick even alluded to it on 'Euphoria' when he rapped , 'Let your core audience stomach that, Then tell'em where you get your abs from.' That even launched its side quest during the beef when MetroBoomin released the soulfully sampled 'BBL Drizzy' beat that Rick Ross instigated and created a $10,000 prize for whoever dropped the best freestyle over the beat. In an attempt to switch the narrative, Drake stole the beat for Sexy Redd's 'U My Everything,' reclaiming the nickname because he pays for so many BBL surgeries. Still, the jokes wear on. See how social media is reacting to Drake's latest Instagram post below. Drake's New Shirtless Selfie Leads To More BBL Jokes and Tummy Tuck Allegations was originally published on
