#SHOWBIZ: Amira denies wedding rumours: 'Just keep us in your prayers'

KUALA LUMPUR: While rumours have been rife about Amira Othman and Fattah Amin tying the knot at the end of the year, Amira insists they are just that.
In a news report yesterday, the 31-year-old singer denied that a wedding date had been set with the popular actor.
"If you're asking about a showcase date, God-willing, that I can share with you. That's the only date I can confirm for now. The showcase project (with Fattah) is still being finalised," she said in the report.
"If there's any good news to share, we'll definitely announce it. But at this moment, there's nothing more I can say. Just keep us in your prayers," she added.
On the upcoming showcase, Amira said that she and Fattah Amin Management are in the early stages of planning the special performance.
"This is still in the initial planning phase. Honestly, I've always dreamed of having a showcase, but I never had the confidence to pull it off as I was afraid that no one would show up.
"But now, with the encouragement and support from the management, I can't wait to see it happening," she said.
"While I'm excited to talk about it, I can't confirm anything just yet. We're hoping to have it in August, but everything is still tentative."
As for why she chose Fattah Amin Management to run the event, Amira said the offer came directly from Fattah himself, whose team has the expertise needed to handle such a showcase.
"Fattah approached me after hearing that I wanted to do a showcase. I agreed because I didn't think I could manage it alone. I really need a solid team to make this a success," she said.
Amira has also just released her new single 'Dalam Sujudku', which has also become the soundtrack for the drama series 'Dia Bukan Syurga'.

Fattah's directorial debut shows flair, confidence

FATTAH Amin's directorial debut with the telemovie "Noktah Dosa" showcases his creative touch and his 14 years of experience in the entertainment industry. Those who caught the gritty drama that aired on TV3 drew parallels between the artiste, whose real name is Abd Fattah Mohd Amin, and his cousins, Syamsul and Syafiq Yusof. One Netizen said: "Fattah is Syamsul Yusof's cousin. He would have quite a bit of experience behind the scenes." Another said: "There's certainly 'class'. Fattah's touch is brilliant. He could soon follow in the footsteps of Syamsul and Syafiq." A fan said: "Fattah can go far as a director. The storyline is interesting, and it's also down to the solid cast." "Noktah Dosa" is one of the telemovies on TV3's Dari Lensa Ke Layar slate, an initiative to nurture local talent and give actors a chance to direct. Others who received this opportunity are Zahiril Adzim, Siti Saleha and Janna Nick. "Noktah Dosa" centres on Hafiz (Nafiz Muaz), a postgraduate sociology student researching prostitution. His work leads him to Kamelia (Datin Elvina Mohamad). He attempts to rescue her from her situation, but the presence of Madam (Jasmin Hamid) complicates Hafiz's task. Fattah expressed his gratitude for the chance to direct and for being entrusted with a meaningful script. "My first telemovie highlights a clear message. We shouldn't be quick to judge, even if someone is in a profession that appears sinful on the surface. "Guidance belongs to God and can reach anyone at any time." Produced by Anomalous Films, "Noktah Dosa" can be streamed on Tonton.

#SHOWBIZ: Bell Ngasri approached for autograph by parking warden in NZ

KUALA LUMPUR: Award-winning comedian Bell Ngasri was recently featured in a viral video from Auckland, New Zealand, where he had an unexpected encounter with a parking warden. Fortunately, the warden wasn't there to issue a parking ticket, but to ask for his autograph. Bell, whose full name is Ngasrizal Ngasri, 44, looked genuinely surprised when the warden approached him for his signature. He'd initially thought she was about to fine him for a parking offence. At the time, Bell was standing on a pavement with fellow actors Fattah Amin, Amira Othman, and Irfan Haris. "Sorry for my parking offence," Bell quipped to the warden, who turned out to be a Malaysian woman. The video proved highly popular with netizens, many of whom jokingly remarked that Bell had overtaken Fattah in terms of popularity in New Zealand. "Wow! Looks like Bell is a hit in NZ too, and Fattah has a very strong competitor," one netizen commented. In fact, Bell, Fattah, Amira, and Irfan were in New Zealand to film the drama series, 'Poskad Cinta Dari Auckland', which also stars Datin Paduka Umie Aida, Datuk Remy Ishak, and Nora Danish.
