Prince Harry broke this ‘cardinal rule' ahead of secret peace talks with King Charles' aides

Prince Harry broke a 'cardinal rule' in the lead up to last week's secret peace talks between his communications team and King Charles' press rep, according to a royal expert.
Royal commentator Charlotte Griffiths claims the Duke of Sussex breached a fundamental protocol by publicly discussing private matters concerning his estranged family, New York Post reports.
After Harry aired out his family's dirty laundry on several public platforms — including the bombshell 2021 sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey, his and Meghan Markle's tell-all Netflix series and his memoir 'Spare' — the king is now very cautious when interacting with his youngest son, Griffiths claims.
'I think he would be willing to meet his demands and it is a pretty simple demand, it is 'if I talk to you, can it not leak out on Oprah Winfrey or any other program?'' Griffiths said of the king's requirements for any future communication with the exiled royal.
'Harry really wants reconciliation and to be able to freely speak to his father, at the moment he cannot get through to his father, he has to go through his aides,' she added.
'What will definitely happen is some ground rules for communications. What Harry cannot do is repeat what goes on in private conversations,' she noted.
In an interview with the BBC in May, Harry said he would 'love a reconciliation' with his cancer-stricken father as the Invictus Games founder alluded to King Charles' health being far worse than His Majesty has let on.
'I don't know how much longer my father has,' Harry told the outlet, claiming the king 'won't speak' to him.
According to Griffiths, Harry's choice of words weren't received well at Buckingham Palace.
'Harry said 'we don't know how much time my father has left' and that went down extremely badly, that's why this story is so surprising,' she said. 'He broke the cardinal rule which was speculating on the king's health.'
Prince Harry's fuelling of public speculation about his ailing father was a clear violation of royal protocol, Griffiths added.
While reps for the Sussexes, Meredith Maines and Liam Maguire were spotted chatting to Tobyn Andreae, the monarch's communications secretary, the meeting notably excluded Prince William and Princess Catherine's communications team.
According to the royal commentator, the future king, 43, has no interest in mending fences with his estranged brother.
Griffiths added that the king's health woes might be the reason behind his willingness to reconcile.
'I think this is driven by the king's health in the respect that the king is very circumspect at the moment and is perhaps in a more forgiving place,' she added.

Charli XCX marries The 1975 drummer George Daniel after three years together

Pop icon Charli XCX has tied the knot with The 1975 drummer George Daniel in an intimate ceremony after three years together. The nuptials were held in London yesterday with all of Daniel's bandmates in attendance, except lead singer Matty Healy, according to a photo agency. Page Six reached out to Healy's representative for comment. 'Matty flew directly from the stag celebrations in Ibiza yesterday, to be with his fiancee, Gabbriette (Bechtel) last night in LA where has contractual commitments for her debut move,' a source told Page Six. Video from the wedding shared on X showed the happy couple as they posed for photos with their family outside of Hackney Town Hall. Only about 20 close friends and loved ones were reportedly present. Photographers revealed the wedding was so low-key that they were even seen walking to the venue. In true Charli fashion, footage posted to social media shows the couple smoking a cigarette in their wedding attire behind a large black van. Charli (whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison) wore a strapless Vivianne Westwood ivory wedding gown and held a bouquet of white flowers in one hand as she placed her other arm around Daniel. Her new husband stood tall next to her in a black suit and white boutonniere. Reps for the stars did not immediately respond to Page Six's request for comment. The 'Girl, so confusing' hit maker, 32, was first romantically linked with Daniel in March 2022 after they were spotted out together in New York City holding hands. At the time, Daniel was said to have been supporting the singer as she made her Saturday Night Live performance debut. Months later, in June, photos obtained exclusively by Page Six showed the pair getting hot and steamy while on their Italian vacation. Prior to their romance, they worked together as musical collaborators. In November 2023, Charli announced she and Daniel, 35, were engaged on Instagram, sharing a slide show of images featuring the lovebirds kissing and one of a diamond ring in a box. 'Charli XCX and George Daniel f**king for life!!!' she captioned the post. Charli's record label, Atlantic Records, confirmed the engagement news on X, tweeting, 'Major congratulations to @charli_xcx and George Daniel on their engagement.' The pop star later posted footage from behind-the-scenes of their wedding showing her bridal party dancing to cult noughties song 'Like A G6' by Far East Movement. The Empire State Building's social media account commented: 'The royal wedding,' while Amazon Music wrote: 'Hey Charli queen … so … where's my invitation?'

Harry and Meghan brutally skewered by Family Guy again

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been mocked by Family Guy as their marriage is compared to 'Hitler and the Crusades'. The newest series of the satirical cartoon takes a swipe at the pair in an episode where two beloved characters go back in time, reports The Sun. FOX aired the clip this week, which brutally mocks the royals by listing them with two of history's darkest moments. The dig comes during a time-travelling skit where characters Stewie and Brian meet American author Mark Twain. Brian says: 'Doesn't history pretty much suck? The Crusades, Hitler …' Stewie then chimes in: 'Prince Harry marrying Meghan Markle?' The episode then cuts to a cartoon version of the Duke of Sussex sitting on a sofa watching the show. He complains: 'Oh, again?' The character then turns to the audience and remarks: 'Oh like all your wives are so much better?' It's the latest pop culture roasting for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who've been regularly skewered by US cartoons since quitting royal life in 2020. After making the move across the pond for privacy, the couple splashed out on their Montecito mansion – which was also a point of ridicule for the pair. In 2023, Family Guy poked fun at their Netflix deal, showing the royals lounging by a pool next to their mansion. A butler handed them a cheque for 'millions … for no-one knows what'. Cartoon Harry sips from a champagne flute before muttering: 'Put it with the rest of them.' Then Meghan gets a ping on her phone and says: 'Babe, time to do our $250,000 sponsored Instagram post for Del Taco.' In an apparent reference to Harry's criticism of the royal family, he responds: 'I shouldn't have left the made-up nonsense.' Family Guy isn't the only comedy show that has taken a swipe at the couple. The royals were also torn to shreds by South Park, which aired an episode called 'The Worldwide Privacy Tour'. The cheeky episode began with a disclaimer saying all characters – even if they're based on real people – are fictional. But fans were quick to point out the Prince's red hair and his wife's floppy hat drew similarities to the Duke and Duchess. The episode mocked their constant calls for privacy while accusing them of endlessly chasing the spotlight. Fans were left in hysterics over the episode in February 2023, where the couple were seen holding huge signs begging to be left alone. The couple hang banners above their house demanding privacy – and hold loud 'privacy parties' in their front garden. Cartoon Meghan is shown in the same pink outfit she wore to Trooping the Colour. The pair also appear as guests on a talk show to talk about the Prince's book, named Waaagh, which gives a striking resemblance to Prince Harry's bombshell memoir, Spare. After the show aired it was reported that the couple were considering legal action. However their spokesperson has lashed out at the claims, and told Newsweek: 'This is baseless and boring.' Sources in California previously claimed Meghan 'was annoyed by South Park but refuses to watch it all'. After it aired, viewers joked that the representation was spot on. One said: 'South Park has seriously nailed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.' Another added: 'They are definitely ripping on Harry and Meghan.'
