Justice will be ensured for complainants, says SP Ratna
Puttaparthi: District Superintendent of Police (SP) V Ratna on Monday assured that justice will be delivered to complainants by conducting thorough investigations within the legal framework.
Participating in the Public Grievances Redressal System programme held at the Conference Hall of the District Police Office, she received a total of 80 complaints from the public.
Speaking on the occasion, she stated that all complaints would be investigated thoroughly in accordance with the law and resolved appropriately. She instructed concerned officials via phone to resolve legally valid issues immediately and to ensure that complaints are not repeated.
She emphasized swift and just action, directing officials to act promptly and deliver justice without delay. The grievances received during the programme included family disputes, land issues, cyber frauds, and property distribution conflicts.
Along with the SP, Puttaparthi DSP Vijay Kumar, Women's PS DSP Adinarayana, and Legal Advisor Sainath Reddy, along with police staff, also participated in the event.

Odisha: Devotees throng Puri on fourth day of annual Rath Yatra
Puri (Odisha) [India], June 30 (ANI): On the fourth day of Rath Yatra, devotees gathered in large numbers to witness and be part of the grand event. The Rath Yatra began on June 27 from Jagannath Temple here. July 5 will mark the conclusion of the event, known as 'Bahuda Yatra'. Three devotees lost their lives and several others were injured in Sunday's stampede at the world-famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in Puri. Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan called the stampede 'very unfortunate' and said that appropriate action will be taken after the completion of investigation. 'The incident is very unfortunate. The state government has taken strict action and a senior officer will investigate the incident. We will take action once we get the report of the investigation,' Harichandan told reporters. He added, 'Mahaprabhu, with his wish, he gives darshan to his devotees. Tomorrow, the devotees will have the opportunity to offer prayers. I prayed to Mahaprabhu for the well-being of everyone.' Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep sorrow over the incident and announced a financial assistance of 25 lakh to the families of each deceased devotee. He also assured that strict action would be taken against those responsible and pledged to prevent such tragedies in the future. Following the incident, the state government has ordered a high-level administrative inquiry to be supervised by the Development Commissioner. Puri Superintendent of Police Pinak Mishra has been appointed in place of the previous SP, and Puri Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain has been replaced by Chanchal Rana. Odisha DCP Vishnu Pati and Commandant Ajay Padhi were also suspended for negligence of duty. (ANI)

Head Constable of Delhi Police suffers from chest pain after being caught red-handed while taking bribe
New Delhi [India], June 30 (ANI): A Head Constable of Delhi Police, currently under treatment at Burari Hospital, suffered chest pain after he was caught red-handed while taking a bribe at Burari Police Station. According to the Vigilance Department of Delhi Police, a head constable was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 and subsequently suffered chest pain requiring hospitalisation. The incident occurred at the Burari police station in North Delhi on Friday night. The team rushed him to Burari Hospital, and now he is under treatment, officials added. A team from the Vigilance department had laid a trap for the head constable after a local businessman complained about the officer demanding a bribe of Rs 75,000 to not remove the mobile tower from his terrace. The complainant was instructed to offer the bribe in three instalments of Rs 25,000 each. The head constable was apprehended while accepting the bribe, but he suffered chest pain and was rushed to the hospital. According to Vigilance, the officer is currently stable and will be arrested once discharged from the hospital. An investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the officer's involvement in the bribery case. Earlier, the Rouse Avenue Court had granted bail to a traffic cop on June 14 who was allegedly collecting bribe money through a man, being used as a helper, from transporters and other persons in the Samaypur Badli Traffic Circle. The helper, identified as Dalip Kumar, filed a complaint at the Vigilance Branch, claiming that the accused cop had been using him to collect bribe money for the past two years, though he was not aware of it. An FIR was registered by the vigilance, and accused Assistant Sub-Inspector Vijay Kumar was arrested red-handed on May 21, 2025, when he was receiving Rs 30,000 collected by Dalip Kumar. Special Judge Atul Krishna Agrawal granted bail to Vijay Kumar after considering the facts, including the custody of the accused and parity with the co-accused, who is enlarged on bail. The complainant has retracted his allegations in the complaint. 'Considering the period of judicial custody of the accused as well as the fact that the recovery whatsoever has already been effected, and also the fact that co-accused Head Ct. Surender has already been granted bail by the Learned Concerned Court vide order dated 06.06.2025, accused Vijay Kumar is admitted to bail on his furnishing a personal bond in the sum of Rs. 50,000 with one surety in the like amount,' Special Judge Agrawal ordered on June 12.
