Club World Cup Winners Stunned Over Sharing Stage With President Trump
The FIFA Club World Cup concluded on Sunday (July 13) with Chelsea sending shockwaves throughout the global football world by defeating the European champions in PSG. As Chelsea players celebrated the massive upset win, President Trump, alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino, handed over the Club World Cup trophy to the winners and was visibly instructed to step aside. Trump refused to do so, much to the confusion of the stars.
'I knew he was going to be here but I didn't know he was going to be on the stand when we lifted the trophy,' Cole Palmer said to PA Media in a post-match interview. Chelsea captain Reece James added, 'They told me that he was going to present the trophy and then exit the stage, and I thought that he was going to exit the stage, but he wanted to stay.'
James also said he spoke with Trump but couldn't make out what he was saying fully due to the noise in the arena.
'To be honest it was quite loud. I couldn't hear too much. He just congratulated me and the team for lifting the trophy and told us to enjoy the moment,' James politely stated. It was perhaps not the reception the American president expected, what with boos raining down from the 81,000 in attendance. It wasn't all negative, as some fans stood and cheered for Trump.
In another bizarre turn of events, Trump elected to keep the FIFA Club World Cup trophy for himself, with Chelsea receiving a replica. Cole Palmer did receive the Gold Ball for his exploits on the pitch. No word yet if Trump had one given to him by FIFA as well. The Chelsea club won an estimated $114 million in prize money.

And despite his best efforts at UC 302, he fell to division king Islam Makhachev. Nevertheless, he remains one of the best 155-pounders in the world. Vasquez-Imagn Images Over the last few years, Renato Moicano has evolved into one of the lightweight division's most entertaining fighters. However, his victories over Benoit Saint-Denis and Jalin Turner proved he was a top-10 talent as well. Being ranked means facing elite talent, and the Brazilian has gotten that in his last two bouts. Miley Cyrus is back with "Something Beautiful," a new, critically acclaimed visual album showcasing the pop star's many talents. In the new film and album, the 32-year-old embodies various roles -- a showgirl, a '60s European film star and more. "These kind of nuances were important for me, creating something that I feel is really modern and very now," Cyrus told ABC News. "But again, it's really honoring ... these kind of, like, you know, iconic women in film and in music." Cyrus describer her new project as an "ultimate fulfillment." "I'm just really proud of the outcome," she said. "I definitely hear myself and go, you know, I have a very distinct voice," she said. Cyrus has been in the spotlight for over two decades, and on a recent podcast, the actor and singer mentioned vocal cord issues that she's been dealing with. She told ABC News she's now more aware of how important her voice is to her. "I've always, you know, I've had kind of a unique texture, and I've gotten really used to working with what I've been given and training appropriately, giving myself boundaries, because I realized how sacred it is to myself and to what I do," Cyrus said. Aside from her vocal cord issues, Cyrus said there are other reasons she's not planning to do a major tour for "Something Beautiful." "It's really hard to maintain sobriety when you're on the road, which is a really important, kind of pillar of stability in my life," said Cyrus. She said she's also concerned about mental wellness as a touring artist. "You have so many thousands of people screaming at you, so dopamine, you're feeling a lot of love," said Cyrus. "And then you totally crash at the end of the show, and you start thinking that one person loving you is not enough, it needs to be 10,000, it needs to be 80,000." Cyrus said she will still perform, as she did with fellow megastar artist Beyoncé back in June, when they performed the "Cowboy Carter" track, "II Most Wanted," which they co-wrote. It's an experience Cyrus raves about. Schauffele determined to win Claret Jug back
Reigning champion Xander Schauffele said on Tuesday he is "looking forward" to winning back the Claret Jug at this week's British Open in Northern Ireland, after enjoying his title celebrations last year. The American landed the trophy 12 months ago at Royal Troon with a superb final-round performance to secure his second major title, celebrating accordingly. Advertisement "The lid, it barely opens. I had a little tequila there in Portugal," he said of the famous British Open trophy. "I've had wine out of it, but not too much. I don't drink a whole lot. I definitely drank more after a few championships last year. "It's a bummer to give up the trophy this year. Looking forward to trying to get it back." Schauffele has struggled for his best so far this year but showed signs of a return to form with a top-10 finish at the Scottish Open last weekend. But he has made a habit of peaking at the majors, making 14 successive cuts in golf's biggest events and winning the PGA Championship as well as the British Open in 2024. "That's where my biggest edge would be. I can lean on experience at other points in time, but I think the most fun and the biggest advantage I would have is coming down the stretch if I can get close to that lead." Despite only posting two top-10 finishes this year, Schauffele is still ranked number three in the world and has not missed a cut in a professional tournament since 2022.
