‘His son does the talking' – Carlo Ancelotti insider reveals how Rangers-linked son Davide inspires superstar players

RANGERS fans will be excited at the prospect of Davide Ancelotti passing on what he's learned from dad Carlo if he's appointed boss.
But one of the duo's former players has opened up on the ways that Ancelotti Jr actually holds a lot of influence over his dad's teams.

Ancelotti Sr was a legendary boss well before Davide started his coaching career with him at Bayern Munich in 2016.
'Don Carlo' had managed the likes of Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris St-Germain and Real Madrid, winning three Champions League titles.
But after leaving Bayern and then Napoli, the Italian took the surprise move of joining mid-table Premier League side Everton.
He took Davide with him, and then-Everton player Alex Iwobi has opened up on his experience working with the pair.
Now at Fulham, Iwobi told the Filthy Fellas podcast about the atmosphere around the club when Ancelotti Sr first arrived.
He said: "I remember when he first got appointed, everyone was just eating lunch and he's walked in.
"Everyone's just chatting, but as soon as he's walked in, everyone was silent.
"Everyone was just looking, that was mad.
"We'd heard about [the appointment] but when he actually walks in, his presence was mental."
The 65-year-old is often praised for his hands-off approach to management, and Iwobi revealed that Davide is an important factor on the tactical side of the game.

Iwobi continued: "[Carlo] comes down and he watches training.
"He does have his say but it's more his son that does the talking, obviously he will have his input as well.
"If you watch the games, you'll see his son always chatting to him."

There has to be ambition from everyone – Brendan Rodgers sends contract message
Rodgers is entering the final season of his three-year deal and told principal shareholder Dermot Desmond and chief executive Michael Nicholson that he is not interested in performing a maintenance job. The Celtic manager reiterated he would be going nowhere of his own volition before his contract expires but his long-term future remains unclear. Asked about his contract situation ahead of Celtic's William Hill Premiership opener against St Mirren on Sunday, Rodgers said: 'Dermot and Michael and I had a conversation over the summer on where we were at. 'I said: 'I'm very happy here'. There's conditions we want to be able to improve and be better because I'm not the type of manager that's good at maintaining anything. If it's just something to maintain, I'm not the manager of Celtic.
