2025 season
The 2025 season promises to be one of the most competitive yet, with five rounds scheduled on the official UIM calendar. This increases the level of competition and boosts the stakes for the participating teams.
Sharjah will participate with two boats in this round. One of the most recent additions to the team's fleet is boat number 27, which was totally fabricated in Sharjah. It is powered by a four-stroke engine, indicating a shift towards more efficient and ecological technologies.
Boat number 18 will also compete, powered by a two-stroke engine and noted for its strong performance and significant track record in this racing category. This combination provides the team with greater versatility in terms of racing strategy and technical performance.
The Sharjah team hopes to have a great start to the season, depending on its drivers' skill and experience, boat preparedness, and the club's high-quality technical and administrative assistance. As it competes for the global title this season, the squad intends to make an impression from the start.

Images emerging from a recent sports event held in Abu Dhabi have shed another light on this humanitarian aspect in the UAE leader's character. The photos shared on social media showed Sheikh Mohamed talking with kids, shaking their hands and hugging them in tender fatherly gestures. Take a look: In a sign of appreciation and love to Sheikh Mohamed, some children placed a kiss on the leader's forehead The children, who wore sports attire, were participating in Abu Dhabi Summer Sports (ADSS); the Middle East's largest indoor sports festival, held annually at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi. Designed to provide a fun, safe, and healthy escape from the summer heat, ADSS includes events for sports like football, basketball, tennis, badminton, padel, volleyball, table tennis, cricket. Qatar launches self-driving robot taxi trials ahead of 2026 launch

Qatar has officially launched operational trials of self-driving robot taxis. The Level 4 autonomous electric taxis are a landmark initiative led by Mowasalat (Karwa) in coordination with the Ministry of Transport. The trials are currently underway in selected touristic and service areas and are a key part of Qatar's Autonomous Vehicles Strategy and broader vision for smart, sustainable mobility. Qatar self-driving taxis The pilot follows the success of previous autonomous electric bus trials and reflects the country's commitment to integrating AI-driven, zero-emission transport solutions into the national network. The trial will unfold in two distinct phases: Phase 1: Driverless trial runs without passengers, monitored by a specialised team to assess technical readiness. Phase 2: Full-scale public testing with passengers but no driver, running through the first quarter of 2026. Each autonomous taxi is equipped with six cameras, four radars, and four LiDAR units, enabling advanced detection, real-time decision-making, and safe navigation in complex urban settings. In addition to evaluating the technology, the pilot will support the development of regulatory frameworks and the necessary infrastructure to accommodate next-generation mobility solutions in Qatar.
