For a long time now, rumours of trouble in Aishwarya and Abhishek's married life have also been making headlines. However, the two have not issued any clarification as of now.
Abhishek Bachchan has opened up about facing negativity in the showbiz world. In a recent interview, the actor talked about the criticism he gets and revealed what his wife, actress Aishwarya Rai, told him to deal with it.
Abhishek was speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India when he was asked about one of his previous statements – to keep everyone happy. The actor mentioned that he still holds that ambition and said, 'Yes. Time teaches you that sometimes you can be foolish. Don't be so idealistic. But I don't ever want to let go of that. The day I say yaa I can't make everyone happy, this is me, take it or leave it, for a film actor, it's very arrogant and it will be the death of you. There will be no more desire to improve. I understand that it's a lot more challenging than you say it."
Recalling his wife's advice, Abhishek added, 'But I still want to make everyone happy. I still pay attention to all the negative reviews and anybody who says negative things. Sadly, as human nature pays more attention to negativity than positivity. And Aishwarya always said, it's water off a duck's back. Why are you concentrating on the negative stuff? Concentrate on the positive, that so much outweighs anything else."
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai's love story began as friends while working together on films like Dhai Akshar Prem Ke (2000) and Kuch Naa Kaho (2003). However, romance blossomed during the filming of Umrao Jaan in 2005-2006. Abhishek proposed to Aishwarya after the premiere of their film Guru in New York. They got married on April 20, 2007, in a grand ceremony, and became the 'Bachchan Bahu" Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Aishwarya and Abhishek have a daughter named Aaradhya Bachchan.
For a long time now, rumours of trouble in Aishwarya and Abhishek's married life have also been making headlines. However, the two have not issued any clarification as of now.

‘Dialogue bolne aata nahi hai': Abhishek Bachchan recalls when Amitabh Bachchan scolded him on first day of Sarkar shoot

Jul 02, 2025 06:02 AM IST Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan shared screen space in the political crime thriller Sarkar. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Abhishek recalled how he was petrified on the first day of shoot, when he had to share the screen with his father. He later received a scolding from Amitabh inside his car, which left him 'destroyed.' (Also read: Amitabh Bachchan bows to son Abhishek Bachchan, praises him on completing 25 years in films: 'He is worthy of praise') Amitabh Bachchan scolded Abhishek Bachchan after a tense day on the sets of Sarkar. During the interaction, Abhishek recalled the incident and began, 'The first time we shot together was for Sarkar. Ramu [Ram Gopal Varma] said that we'll do some test shoots, and then I could go away and shoot Bunty Aur Babli. This was September 2004. First day, I was panicking and sweating. He says to me, 'Shankar', and all I had to do was turn around and say, 'Ji?' I was petrified, I was literally shaking. He has that effect.' 'Isiliye maine itne saal mehnat…' He went on to add that the shoot got over and he waited in his vanity van for a while to leave after his dad left the set. But that did not happen as Amitabh knocked on his vanity van and suggested they both go home together. Abhishek then described how that ride panned out. "The entire ride back was spent in pin-drop silence. He is just looking straight. When they pulled into their bungalow's driveway, the staff got out, leaving the two of them alone in the car. He's just sitting there, and then, in 48 frames, he turned to me. 'Isiliye maine itne saal mehnat karke tumhe padhaya likhaya? Dialogue bolna aata nahi hai tumhe (Is this why I worked so hard and spent so much on your education? You can't even say a line properly).' I felt like I had murdered someone, the way he looked at me. He just destroyed me,' he said. Abhishek recently completed 25 years in films. He made his acting debut with JP Dutta's Refugee. He will be next seen in Kaalidhar Laapata, which will premiere on Zee5 on July 4.

Abhishek Bachchan Opens Up On Living With Aishwarya, Amitabh, Jaya Bachchan: 'I've Never Felt Lost'

The Guru actor lives in a star-studded joint family that includes his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, father Amitabh Bachchan, mother Jaya Bachchan, and daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. Abhishek Bachchan, who recently completed 25 years in the film industry, is currently gearing up for the release of his next, Kaalidhar Laapata, premiering on ZEE5 on July 4, 2025. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, the actor opened up about his family life, approach to solitude, and how he maintains emotional balance while playing intense roles. While many actors immerse themselves in isolation to get into character, Abhishek calls himself an exception. 'I have never felt lost or the need to get away from everything. I am a people person," he shared. 'I have my moments when I need my solitude. It is very important and essential for an actor. But not for a longer time. I need someone to talk to." The Guru actor lives in a star-studded joint family that includes his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, father Amitabh Bachchan, mother Jaya Bachchan, and daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. When asked about the dynamics at home, he offered an amusing yet insightful take: 'It's funny. My household is very funny, and we are all actors. We all like to hang out together, and then suddenly everyone just goes back to their own personal spaces." He continued, 'That comes naturally because for actors it is important to spend time with yourself and get to know yourself. Self-discovery is something that we rarely do. It's essential, but I would never want to be a loner." Abhishek, who made his debut in 2000 opposite Kareena Kapoor in Refugee, has been experimenting with diverse roles and genres. With Kaalidhar Laapata, a gripping thriller, he aims to continue his streak of performance-driven roles. The trailer has already struck a chord with audiences, building anticipation for its digital release. First Published:

Delhi LG Vinai Kumar Saxena attends 'Umrao Jaan' screening, says it's a

New Delhi [India], July 2 (ANI): Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena, hailed the Rekha starrer 'Umrao Jaan' after watching its remastered version in theatres on Tuesday. Delhi's LG Vinai Kumar Saxena attended the special screening of 'Umrao Jaan' along with its director Muzaffar Ali in Delhi. He was welcomed by the director at the screening of the remastered version of the film. Before watching the movie, Delhi's LG addressed the viewers and said that he has watched Umrao Jaan countless times due to its direction, story, songs and lyrics. Vinai Kumar Saxena praised Umrao Jaan after the screening, calling it a 'unique' film which is difficult for filmmakers to make in today's time. 'Umrao Jaan, which was made 44 years ago by Muzaffar Ali, has become such a unique film that it is very difficult to make it in today's time. This is the film in which every character has played a role. Music, lyrics, direction, everything is unique in this film,' said Vinai Kumar Saxena. LG also labelled 'Umrao Jaan' as a career breakthrough film of Rekha. He said, 'If I say this, it won't be wrong to say that Rekha became Rekha from this film. If it weren't for this film, Rekha wouldn't have been Rekha. I am sure that this film will become a milestone in the future, which will be remembered forever in the Mumbai film industry.' Rekha won the National Award for her impeccable performance in the film as a courtesan-poetess in 19th-century Lucknow. Her graceful dance performance on 'Dil Cheez Kya Hai' is still admired and remembered by filmophiles. On the sidelines of the event, director Muzaffar Ali called 'Umrao Jaan' 'timeless' and 'ageless'. While talking to ANI, he said, 'I think the movie is timeless, it's ageless, it was meant for a time 150 years ago. So, it was meant to be a period film, and it has been true to the period. It is still vibrant and alive as that period would have been. So, that way, the film is, for me, full of nostalgia, full of memories, details and hard work.' Director Ali also shared that he is willing to take the Umrao Jaan to the festivals and OTT platforms. 'I think we'll take it to a festival route and then it will come to the OTT,' said Muzaffar Ali. 'Umrao Jaan' is a classic Indian period drama that has been adapted into two film versions. The 1981 version, starring Rekha, is a cult classic and won four National Awards. The 2006 version, starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, was not well received by the audience. Both films are based on Mirza Hadi Ruswa's novel Umrao Jaan Ada. It was re-released in theatres on June 27.
