Browns' David Njoku's $16 million future contract decision depends on Harold Fannin Jr.
David Njoku is slated to be a free agent, and Cleveland will have to decide what to do.
One option will be the franchise tag, which could come in up to $16 million for a tight end, according to Pro Football Network.
Njoku has been reliable for the Browns, when healthy, but it's not a given he sticks around in Cleveland.
A big factor will be Harold Fannin Jr., the rookie tight end from Bowling Green.

If Fannin shows himself to have potential as a rookie, the Browns would have more reason to let Njoku walk.
This still looks to be a multi-year build in Cleveland, so embracing play time for Fannin would align more with the future timeline.
For Njoku, that could mean he gets the chance to seek out a big payday elsewhere next offseason.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Nick Pivetta gave up one hit and one run in seven innings, Jackson Merrill drove in two runs, and the San Diego Padres won their sixth game in a row, 4-1 over the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night. Former Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman La'el Collins is signing with the Dallas Cowboys after a workout with the team, according to Tommy Yarrish. Collins, 32, last played in an NFL regular-season game for the Bengals in December 2022, when he suffered a knee injury. Released by the Bengals in September 2023, Collins signed in 2024 with the Buffalo Bills, which moved him from tackle to guard. He was released in August 2024 by the Bills. Collins started all 15 games in which he played in his only season in Cincinnati. Collins played 74 games over six NFL seasons with the Cowboys to start his career. Ice hockey fans, players excited for World Juniors tournament coming to Minnesota
Minnesota hockey fans get an extra gift this holiday season. The World Juniors is coming to the state of hockey. "Like no other," described defenseman Logan Hensler. "Happens once a year. It's always on TV. People are always watching, talking about it. There's a ton of attention to it. It's a pretty cool experience." Hensler has been there before. The defenseman from Woodbury took gold last January. Now, he's trying to repeat as a large, talented group tangle for a roster spot on Team USA. "Your compete, your discipline. All around play. You get pushed every day by these guys," said Hensler. "It's just important you keep up and keep going. Push through." Hensler's last few months have been his most accomplished in hockey. He won the most recent World Juniors gold and was then selected 23rd overall by the Ottawa Senators in the NHL draft in June. "Dream come true," remembered Hensler. "Got there, it was a great experience. The moment I got picked was kind of a blur. Kind of a blackout moment. Really special. Great organization. Just happy my family was there to witness it." Hensler, the top Minnesotan selected in 2025, will be a sophomore with the Badgers this winter. But it might not be long before he trades red and white for Ottawa's colors. "This next coming year I'm going back to Wisconsin," said Hensler. "A big thing for me is taking it year by year. Just gonna take this year, see how it goes. See how I grow as a player.
