Blue Ridge Season 2: Release date speculation, cast and plot details – Everything we know so far
Ever since Blue Ridge: The Series hit our screens, fans have been hooked on its mix of small-town charm, gritty crime drama, and those jaw-dropping North Carolina mountain views. After a stellar first season and a 2020 film that started it all, the show's renewal for Season 2 has folks buzzing with excitement. So, what's in store for Sheriff Justin Wise and the folks of Blue Ridge? Here's the lowdown on the release date, cast, plot rumors, and everything else we've got on Blue Ridge Season 2. When's Blue Ridge Season 2 Coming Out?
Mark your calendars: Blue Ridge: The Series Season 2 is slated to hit the airwaves on December 18, 2025, as per reports. You'll catch it on the Western Bound channel (what used to be the Cowboy Way Channel), and it'll also stream on platforms like Peacock and Amazon Freevee. Imagicomm Entertainment dropped the news, and it's got fans counting down the days for more heart-pounding drama.
Season 1 gave us six episodes, each packed with suspense and heart, so we're betting Season 2 will follow suit with a similar episode count. No official word on the exact schedule yet, but sites like seriesreminder.com can ping you when new episodes drop. Keep an eye on INSP's website or the show's IMDb page for any last-minute updates as the premiere gets closer. Blue Ridge Season 2 Cast
The heart of Blue Ridge is its cast, and Season 2 is bringing back the heavy hitters. Johnathon Schaech is back as Sheriff Justin Wise, the tough-as-nails ex-Green Beret who's trying to keep the peace in Blue Ridge while juggling family life. His chemistry with Sarah Lancaster, who plays Elli Wise, Justin's ex-wife, is a fan favorite, and their push-and-pull dynamic is sure to spark some emotional moments. Taegen Burns returns as Maddie Wise, their teenage daughter, who keeps Justin on his toes with her wit and rebellious streak.
The supporting cast is just as solid: A Martinez as Connor McGrath , a town bigwig with plenty of secrets.
Tom Proctor as Jeremiah Wade , stirring up trouble as always.
Avianna Mynhier as Deputy Maxx Covington , a fierce and loyal member of Justin's crew.
Greg Perrow as Deputy RP, who brings grit and a bit of humor to the sheriff's office.
Season 1 had some killer guest stars like Bruce Boxleitner and Ethan Embry, and word is Season 2 will keep that tradition alive with some fresh faces. Imagicomm's been tight-lipped about who's joining, but they're teasing some big names. Any guesses on who might show up in Blue Ridge this time? What's the Plot for Blue Ridge Season 2?
If there's one thing Blue Ridge does best, it's weaving gritty crime stories with the warmth of a tight-knit mountain town. Season 2 will dig deeper into Sheriff Justin Wise's world as he tackles new cases and old grudges in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Expect each episode to throw a new mystery his way—think murders, shady deals, or maybe even a drug ring stirring up trouble.
Here's what we're expecting based on Season 1's vibe and fan chatter:
Family Drama: The tension between Justin, Elli, and Maddie is bound to heat up. Some fans on IMDb are hoping for a deeper dive into Justin and Elli's past—maybe even a spark of reconciliation. Will they find common ground, or is more heartbreak on the horizon?
New Bad Guys: Every season needs a good villain, and Season 2 will likely introduce some new troublemakers. Whether it's outsiders causing chaos or locals with old scores to settle, Justin's got his work cut out for him.

Prime Video drops new action-comedy movie with Idris Elba and John Cena — and it's an explosive carnage fest
Prime Video's latest original movie is an explosive action flick that I'm sure many viewers will enjoy, based on its ridiculous premise alone. 'Heads of State' is the movie in question, and it quickly earned a spot on my list of most anticipated Prime Video releases this summer. After seeing the first trailer a few weeks back, I was definitely intrigued and thought it looked like chaos in the best way. Now that it's officially dropped on Prime Video and I've had the chance to watch it, I can confirm it delivers some solid popcorn entertainment despite its glaring flaws. 'Heads of State' reunites John Cena and Idris Elba for the first time since their wild ride together in 2021's 'The Suicide Squad.' But instead of playing offbeat antiheroes, the duo now take on more high-powered roles as heads of government thrown headfirst into a high-stakes international emergency. This isn't aiming for awards season whatsoever, but if you're into dramatic action, unlikely pairings, and plenty of carnage, it's the kind of fun ride that'll keep you engaged for just under two hours. So, if you're looking for something to watch on Prime Video this week, here's why 'Heads of State' is worth adding to your watchlist. 'Heads of State' follows U.S. President Will Derringer (John Cena), a former action star turned head of state, and U.K. Prime Minister Sam Clarke (Idris Elba), a seasoned ex‑SAS officer. After a catastrophic security breach downing Air Force One, they narrowly escape assassination in the midst of a joint diplomatic mission. With their protective units compromised, Derringer and Clarke are forced into a tense cross‑continental pursuit, relying solely on each other to survive. Joined by MI6 operative Noel Bisset (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), they traverse hostile territory, rapidly piecing together clues to unravel a deadly global conspiracy aimed at dismantling their governments. The biggest compliment I can give 'Heads of State' is that it keeps you entertained, meaning you won't find yourself reaching for your phone or thinking about turning the TV off. It's a genuinely enjoyable watch that sees Elba and Cena dive into explosive action sequences, and I think most people will find the duo a lot of fun. 'Heads of State' begins with a mission gone wrong as MI6 agent Noel Bisset (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) watches her team get gunned down amidst a tomato throwing festival in Spain, and we're led to believe she dies with them. The scene then shifts to U.K Prime Minister Sam Clarke (Elba), who wakes up feeling sorrowful on his couch, goes for a jog, and soon finds out about Noel's disappearance and what happened on the mission. It's clear these two share a romantic history based on his reaction alone. From there, the story kicks into gear as we're introduced to Cena's exaggerated but surprisingly affectionate character, who shares a sweet moment with his young daughter while explaining what NATO is, describing it as 'uniting to take down a bully.' Going in with somewhat low expectations, I didn't expect Cena and Elba to make for one of the most entertaining comedy duos I've seen in a while. Their dynamic is hilarious, but there's also a weirdly genuine warmth to it that works surprisingly well. There's chemistry in most scenes and they inject even the most basic moments with a ton of energy. Cena plays Derringer, a washed-up action star who somehow ends up as the U.S. President — not because he's qualified, but because he's famous. He leans into the absurdity with a wink, clearly enjoying poking fun at himself. Meanwhile, Elba's Clarke is the total opposite: all business, shaped by his military background, and completely grounded. Elba plays him with just the right mix of seriousness and sharp comedic instincts. The tension and back-and-forth between them is what really drives the movie. And then there's Jonas, who holds her own. Her character, Noel, isn't just there to tag along since she's right in the thick of the action and central to the plot. She brings power and presence to every fight scene, and it's refreshing to see a woman in this genre who's not sidelined or reduced to a sidekick. Ilya Naishuller, best known for directing 'Hardcore Henry' and 'Nobody,' brings his trademark visual flair once again, and it works. The action scenes include slick fight choreography with these wild bursts of physical comedy that are almost cartoon-like (if cartoons were drenched in blood and dialed up to brutal levels). As for the story, it sticks pretty closely to the genre's playbook so nothing too surprising there. When the movie tries to get serious, it ends up feeling a bit heavy-handed and awkward, which kind of drags down the pace. Those moments are a bit of a distraction from what the movie really shines at: action and comedic timing. Whether it's ducking bullets or trading quick-witted banter with Jack Quaid's lively patriot, 'Heads of State' isn't perfect, but it packs enough high-energy moments to hold your attention throughout its nearly two-hour run. If you go into this action-comedy expecting the kind of intense action you'd see in 'John Wick' or even the spy thriller aspects from 'James Bond,' I hate to break it to you, but it definitely doesn't have that. From the very start, 'Heads of State' knows exactly what it is, fully leaning into its silliness and absurdity in a way that comes off as charming rather than careless or cheesy. That said, it's far from a bad movie. 'Heads of State' actually feels like a step up from some of Prime Video's recent releases and offers plenty of fun moments that'll keep you entertained despite its obvious flaws. So, if you're looking for something with more meaning, this probably isn't it. But if you just want a light, fun movie that knows how to not take itself seriously, it's definitely worth checking out. You can stream 'Heads of State' on Prime Video now. For more streaming recommendations, see what else is new on Prime Video in July 2025.

‘Love Island USA' Star Iris Kendall's Team Breaks Silence After Huda and Jeremiah Love Triangle
Love Island USA star Iris Kendall's team has put out a statement about her story line on screen as she remains sequestered in the villa. "Running Iris's account while she's in the villa, we've received a lot of questions about our thoughts on what's happened involving iris on the show. There's a reason we've chosen not to engage," read an Instagram post shared before week 3 of the Peacock reality series kicked off on Sunday, June 22. "We want to be clear, any hate or negativity toward anyone else in the villa is not something we condone. If we ever accidentally like a shady comment, please know it's just that, an accident." The people running Iris' account urged viewers to choose kindness. "Everyone on this show is human, and they all deserve compassion. What we do want to say is how incredibly proud we are of Iris," the statement continued. "She's handled everything with so much empathy, grace, and strength. She's a true girls' girl, loyal, kind, and grounded and she deserves real love and lasting friendships." All of the Rules That 'Love Island' Contestants Must Follow: No Social Media, Alcohol Limitations and More The statement concluded: "We're doing our best to foster a platform filled with love and positivity for her to come home to, because that's the kind of community she would want. A space rooted in kindness, empathy, and understanding, not judgment or spite. Let's all try to lead with a little more softness." The caption for the post noted that Iris "would've wanted this" out there. "SO grateful for all the love & support you've been showing her!!!" the message read. "So let's keep it kind, soft, and a unbothered just like our girl." Love Island USA viewers saw Iris, 25, join season 7 during week 2 as a bombshell. She quickly found herself stuck in a love triangle with Jeremiah Brown and Huda Mustafa after America voted to pair up Iris and Jeremiah, 25. Huda, 24, and Jeremiah, meanwhile, received backlash from fans and their fellow Islanders alike for immediately refusing to explore other possible connections after being coupled up the first night. They had a dramatic breakup, which led to Jeremiah briefly considering a romantic future with Iris. The duo reconsidered their chemistry on Sunday's episode before Jeremiah was voted off the show. 'Love Island USA' Couples Status Check: Who's Still Together, Who Broke Up After Leaving the Villa? Iris' isn't the first statement issued by an Islander's team since Love Island USA season 7 debuted earlier this month. Chelley Bissainthe's friends recently slammed the popular fan theory that she was close to Ace Green before they coupled up in the villa. 'We want to be transparent and clear the air as some of the rumors have gotten far from the truth,' a statement shared via Chelley's Instagram read on Thursday, June 19. 'Chelley and Ace briefly crossed paths in New York and later connected on social media.' The statement added: 'They were never in a relationship, never lived together and there are no children or hidden past. What's unfolding now is real, unscripted and could change at any moment. We're fully supporting Chelley, wherever her heart leads and with whomever she chooses to couple [up] with.' New episodes of Love Island USA are released six days a week — except for Wednesdays — on Peacock.

Love Island USA's Jeremiah Breaks Silence on ‘Toxic' Huda Romance, Ace's Clique in the Villa and More
Love Island USA's Jeremiah Brown answered every burning question about his time in the villa, including his messy romance with Huda Mustafa, what viewers didn't see on screen and what role Ace Greene played in his downfall. During the Wednesday, June 25, episode of the "Viall Files" podcast, Jeremiah first broke down how he ended up on the hit Peacock series. "I was definitely familiar because all my sisters have watched the UK version and a little bit of the USA," he recalled. "Because I've walked by them and they've been watching it. I hear the accents, so I'm like, 'What the hell is that?' So I've seen it a little bit." Jeremiah's research didn't fully prepare him for the reality. 'Love Island USA' Week 3 Recap: Nic and Olandria Get Their Happy Ending After Elimination (Updating Daily) "I was definitely familiar with it. I watched three episodes of season 6," he noted. "And I was like, 'I think if I watch any more, I'm going to psych myself out of it.'' On season 7, which premiered earlier this month, Jeremiah made waves on social media for o his whirlwind romance with Huda. As they tried to make it work in the villa, they got backlash off screen for not being open to forming new connections with other people. Jeremiah was subsequently accused of "love bombing" Huda while other viewers were more critical of Huda's seemingly controlling behavior. "I would say one, it was very real and very genuine off the bat. It got a little toxic due to me not nipping in the bud the crazy expectations that she had set for me early on," Jeremiah explained on Tuesday. "Then the communication at the end was just not being perceived well." Jeremiah acknowledged that his very quick connection with Huda was "not healthy" for either of them, adding, "When I was trying to de-escalate, she would kind of crash out. But at the end of the day, I just know that moving forward what I learned from it is not being intimate too soon.' Keep scrolling for Jeremiah's biggest revelations about Love Island USA, Huda and more: 'I had just moved to LA two years ago and [producers] reached out. But I had a girlfriend at the time. So I was like, 'I can't do it.' But then they reached out after we had broken up or she broke up with me,' he revealed. 'I was like, 'This would be something just to get me back out there.' It seemed like a cool opportunity. I've seen couples come out of it and I was like, 'OK, this seems like the actual legitimate thing to do.'' Jeremiah said producers 'reached back around' after they noticed he was single, adding, 'That's why I have so much respect for them because they double checked.' Jeremiah admitted he 'didn't have a girlfriend' until he was 23. 'I would find a girl I liked and just talk to her for, like, six months or talk to her for a year. I hated labels. I just didn't want labels,' he noted. 'I wanted all that freedom that came with it. Then I finally got into my first relationship and then a month in, I cheated. I didn't know how I could do that because I prided myself on being [a good guy].' Jeremiah credited therapy for helping him do the work after his infidelity. 'I didn't have the strength to say no. I could have said no, I didn't [and I cheated]. It was an instant regret. I Got home and told my girlfriend immediately,' he shared. 'We broke up, got back together and then I had to start therapy and started working on myself.' 'Love Island USA' Couples Status Check: Who's Still Together, Who Broke Up After Leaving the Villa? While looking back at his time in the villa, Jeremiah said he had 'this crazy electricity' with Huda. Their first night on the show, Jeremiah 'panicked' and chose to only follow his connection with Huda instead of leaving it open. 'I was like, 'What can I do to not get stolen?' So it wasn't even that I already liked her that much. I just didn't want to get her stolen. I was like, 'I want to really explore this.' Once we had three or four convos, I was like, 'Are we gonna explore this?'' he added. 'Then — this was a mistake on both our parts — we got really intimate really soon. That set us up for failure.' Jeremiah wouldn't confirm on the podcast whether he and Huda had sex, but viewers know that she discussed it on screen before his exit. 'Honestly things were amazing up until pancake day,' Jeremiah said. 'We had a week where it was fire. There were some minor things but we had such a genuine connection. Where things started going south was when I told her who I was in a relationship. Then she kind of took that as who I need to be now.' He continued: 'I didn't nip that in the bud. So I take responsibility. I didn't sit her down and go, 'That's not who I am.'' After watching back the episodes, Jeremiah questioned how much Huda spoke about herself. 'Not to bash on her, but it was a lot of self-centeredness. I noticed that in conversation with her,' he said. 'Which is why I started to move because she didn't really ask me questions about myself.' Love Island's Most Controversial Contestants and Moments Throughout the Years According to Jeremiah, there were long conversations between him and Huda that didn't air, adding, 'I remember we talked a lot about her daughter during the date. Then we talked a lot about her daughter on the pink couch. We talked about her daughter for, like, 30 to 45 minutes. Then after that, s*** went south so we didn't get to talk about it. We had at least two or three conversations talking about her daughter.' 'Once America [voted to pair me with Iris], I was like, 'They're seeing the s*** I'm feeling but I'm not vocalizing.' I don't want my ego to take over,' Jeremiah said. 'We spoke for two or three hours. It was me apologizing for not showing up. Then she was just saying she's hurt the whole time.' He continued: 'I was like, I am going to apologize, validate your feelings and then I want to go from conflict to resolution. Or at least start working toward that.' 'Once we're in our beds, we're supposed to stay in our beds. You stay in your beds for the night and you don't go to other people's beds,' Jeremiah revealed. 'There were a lot of times we almost got in trouble for some rule breaking stuff.' All of the Rules That 'Love Island' Contestants Must Follow: No Social Media, Alcohol Limitations and More Jeremiah's elimination came as a shock to some but he admitted he knew 'the first week' in Fiji that there was a clique forming against him. 'There would be times where the clique would disband for a little bit and then some s*** would go down and it would get right back to it. And I'm like, 'F***, I thought we were over this.' And Nic and I had so many good chats about our friendship outside of this.' Jeremiah was 'caught off guard' that his friends sided with Ace when it came to voting him out. 'It was more one-sided than I thought. It [thought] Nic is my guy but then his actions were showing otherwise,' he added. 'The first two days I was gone, I was pretty pissed because I thought those were my guys. But then the smart thing to do was vote me off because they saw me building a new connection. At the end of the day, it is a show. So they made the strategic move but it still felt like betrayal.' Jeremiah referred to Ace as the 'ringleader driving the conversations' in the villa. He weighed in on theories that Ace was directly responsible for his exit, adding, 'All I got told was, 'It wasn't personal and I love you.' I didn't get a single man-to-man word of why they voted me out.' There was also speculation that Ace wanted Jeremiah gone because he had a crush on Huda. 'He did kiss her during the blindfold challenge so I can see that. He just likes mess, which I get. But honestly, there could be truth to it,' Jeremiah noted. 'He got stolen in the first challenge and I think he didn't like me because he got stolen from Chelley and he likes Chelley. So maybe that's where it started.'
