Your Daily DogScope for August 02, 2025

Yahoo4 days ago
Life is ruff when you're four-legged and furry with a completely clueless human. Fortunately, our daily Dogscope can brighten those boneless days with a little encouragement and a helping paw.
Aries
Just how can you get your fill of treats? Repeat your lessons until the commands get under your skin. When 'Sit' and 'Stay' are so familiar they're downright subliminal, then you'll start earning the big chews.
Taurus
You'll be begging with such intensity, you might miss something important. Try being as passionate about guarding the castle as you are about getting a treat, and you'll earn your keep today.
Gemini
Helping humans live well helps you live well. But while being of service makes you feel good, it's time to do something else for a change. Slipping your collar and running free once per year is in your contract.
Cancer
Emotional intensity and upheaval happens each and every day. At least you're not indecisive. But does a simple visit from the mailman really have to be such a big deal? Try to let it pass for a change.
Leo
Windows, doors, gates -- watch for plotters; they are everywhere. And even if they aren't, it's a good way to pass the day, not to mention practice using your intuition. Looking for a better romance? Find the empowerment you need with our Karma Love Report. 💞
Virgo
Understanding why you can't eat from the table or sleep on the bed -- those are unrealistic goals. But figuring out how to get a laugh or a scratch behind the ear shouldn't be so hard. Start working on it.
Libra
You and your owner are each going about your business on your walks. Theirs might be on the cell phone and yours might be -- well, the real thing. That's just fine, as long as you connect at some point.
Scorpio
Ah, your smell is magnetic. So why are people repelled by you? You are radiating something other than power or prestige. Live on your domesticated side rather than your wild side if you want to figure this out.
Sagittarius
There's the big picture, and then there's the internal picture. Your inner screen is much more interesting than the real world today. You may not want to be left alone, but if you are, enjoy your imagination.
Capricorn
Don't be afraid to be left in charge of the castle. If you look at all the details in a detached way, you'll see you have all the power you need to keep guard. And if not, you have friends who can help.
Aquarius
It's a pendulum. When your owner's feelings about their career slow down, your walks speed up, not to mention get longer. Enjoy this phase while it lasts.
Pisces
You live to be a doormat, as long as you're throwing yourself down on purpose. But the moment someone steps on your tail, the world should get ready for some emotional upheaval. Be careful. What does the moon say about your emotional nature? Master your emotions with a Natal Moon Report!

‘Glitz, Glam, and a Damn Good Time' Review: A Wealth of Amusement

America's Gilded Age was a period characterized by massive income inequality between a superwealthy plutocracy (think Astors, Morgans and Vanderbilts) and an increasingly restive workforce. There are obvious parallels to today, including the propensity of the superrich to throw epic parties breathlessly reported in the media. In 'Glitz, Glam, and a Damn Good Time,' however, Jennifer Wright argues that those late-19th-century parties were about more than conspicuous consumption. They allowed a smart, glamorous extrovert to shed some of the stuffy constraints of her era, acquire a social power that would increase her family's prosperity and be a model for others. Marion Graves Anthon, or Mamie, as she was known, was a barely literate and rather plain young woman whose family had fallen on hard times. Her only assets were her natural wit and aplomb, but in a twist worthy of Edith Wharton, these were enough for her to snare a suitor who, according to his own family history, had been born 'with a silver spoon in his mouth big enough to be called a soup ladle.' As a young man, Stuyvesant Fish had rejected his patrician father's choice of law as a suitable career and went to work for the Illinois Central Railroad. Mamie enraptured this rather dull, Columbia-educated man, and in 1876 they married. They were a devoted couple. 'He thought she was a hoot,' Ms. Wright tells us, 'and she loved that he was a constantly amused audience for her jokes and adventures.' The Fish fortune multiplied. But while 'Stuyvesant seemed to sense that railroads were going to be huge,' Ms. Wright suggests that 'Mamie seemed to understand that extroverted, exciting women who loved the spotlight were the future.'

See it: NFL legend Tom Brady delivers heartfelt message to Cam Ward

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward was one of several high-profile rookies who were recently on the receiving end of a gift from Fanatics via NFL legends, coupled with an emotional and heartfelt message to each player. Future Hall of Famer Tom Brady personally greeted Ward into the league by telling him, 'You're going to grow in ways you couldn't even imagine, and I'm going to be watching, and I'm going to be pulling for you.' The message from Brady hit home, with Ward responding, 'That's crazy, for the greatest player of all time to send me a video like that.' As the video closed, Ward ended with a message that all Titans fans hope becomes reality by saying, 'I'm ready for the challenge.' After receiving the video, Ward was gifted a signed and personalized jersey from Brady. Ward wasn't the only player associated with the Titans to be involved with this promotion from Fanatics. Former Titans' great Eddie George welcomed New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo with a personal message and signed jersey. He told Skattebo, "Begin this journey with the end in mind and you'll be just fine, my man."
