WNBA reporter banned over 'creepy' Caitlin Clark exchange returns to watch Indiana Fever after suspension
Doyel was in the crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for the Fever's first preseason game of the year against the Washington Mystics.
Doyel made headlines last April when he introduced himself to the former Iowa college hero by performing her famous heart-shaped hand gesture.
When a confused Clark asked if he liked her popular hand signal, Doyel replied: 'Start doing it with me and we'll get along just fine.'
Doyel was subsequently suspended for two weeks by his employer, the Indianapolis Star, and appeared not to attend a single Fever game in person during Clark's rookie year.
The ban appears to be up, as Doyel posted a photo overlooking the court on Saturday, with his typical #columncoming hashtag when he is at an event to write about the proceedings.

Oddly enough, Clark did not play against the Mystics with a leg injury, which is believed to be preventative, as the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year was a game-time decision.
On Doyel's post to X before the start of Mystics-Fever, he turned off the comments, with those replying to his presence near Clark for the first time in over a year needing to quote his post to convey any message.
'Ugh I liked it better when he was banned,' one fan replied.
'And still John Haliburton remains unable to watch his son, who would willingly make heart symbols back. #FreeJohnHaliburton and #BanGreggDoyel,' another person stated.

Caitlin Clark is expected to be out for a few more weeks as the WNBA superstar continues to struggle with injury. That is according to the latest reports on the Indiana Fever icon, who has sat out four consecutive games. She has now missed a total of 13 games this season. Clark did not miss a single game at Iowa or during her rookie year in the WNBA but this is the latest in a number of issues for the 23-year-old. 'Last time when she came back from injury, she didn't get any practice time (or) any time to ramp up her conditioning,' Rowe explained. 'This time, they're going to make sure she has time and practices to get rhythm and time with her teammates. 'As you look at their schedule, the third week in August provides a few more practice days where that seems like it's realistic. While she does remain day-to-day, that's seems like a better timetable for a possible Caitlin Clark return.' Indiana faces five games over the next 11 days before their busy schedule eases up slightly, with only one game between August 16 and August 22. Clark is still traveling with the Fever and she was on the sidelines for Sunday's 93-78 win against the Sky. Angel Reese also missed the game after suffering a back injury.

Caitlin Clark may have turned down a multi-million-dollar offer from Ice Cube's BIG3 league but Angel Reese won't be getting her sloppy seconds. The Indiana Fever sensation was reportedly offered a staggering $15million to join the 3-on-3 basketball league, founded by the rapper and co-owner Jeff Kwatinetz. However, the 23-year-old failed to join their roster with the offer of a sensational payday reportedly never even reaching Clark. After failing to land Clark, the BIG3 honchos could have turned to her biggest rival and fellow WNBA star, Reese. But Ice Cube swiftly shut down that suggestion with a brutal snub of the Chicago Sky forward. However, Ice Cube appeared pleased with the progress of his league this week, boasting about the 2025 season so far. 'We got some great players,' he said. 'Lance Stephenson, Dwight Howard. Wesley Johnson's been great, Montrezl Harrell's been great. The league has been must-see TV for sure.'
