Zhenhao Zou faced a barrage of police questioning, with detectives taking him through videos he recorded of him drugging and raping women, he answered no comment to all questions
Chinese student Zhenhao Zou interviewed by MET Police
Prolific rapist Zhenhao Zou gave a cold and simple two-word reply to every question detectives put to him as he faced multiple allegations.
Under the gaze of police officers and with the help of a translator, the PhD student who was studying at the University College London before his arrest answered "no comment" to the tough questions put before him.
At one point during the lengthy questioning, he was shown a video of a woman screaming and trying to escape from his clutches. When asked for his response to what he had seen, he asked for a break from the interview, and the officer obliged and paused the tapes.
In another interview an officer asks: "We already have eight different videos of you raping at least eight different victims, this includes the two from your phone.
"Some of the things seized include two hard drives of over two terrabytes each. How many videos do you have?"
The officer asks: "How many victims are there?"
The officer asks: "How long has this been going on for?"
Trying a different tack, the officer tries: "Did this start when you moved to the UK?"
But Zou repeats: "No comment."
The officer goes on to ask: "When was the first time it happened? Would you say you were unable to stop? Would you say you're addicted to drugging, raping and videoing these women?"
All were met with no comment replies.
Zou went on to pleaded not guilty and went on trial for four weeks, with the jury forced to watch multiple videos of him raping women.
They found him guilty and today he was sentenced to life and he must serve a minimum of 24 years in prison.
The trial heard that although he appears to be 'a smart and charming young man' he is in fact 'a persistent sexual predator, a voyeur and a rapist'.
He comes from a wealthy family, and had enough money to afford a Rolex, a wardrobe full of designer clothes, and cosmetic procedures including a hair transplant and facial surgery, while paying thousands a month in rent.

Senior Crown prosecutor Saira Pike said Zou is a danger to women, and praised the two victims who gave evidence for their courage in coming forward.
Police believe more than 50 other women may have fallen prey to the engineering student, which would make him one of the worst sex offenders the UK has seen.

Vegas woman's brazen scheme caught on camera after she went to hotel with man whose $18k Rolex 'caught her eye'

A Vegas woman was filmed fleeing a hotel room after allegedly robbing a man she met at a nightclub whose $18,000 Rolex 'caught her eye,' police say Video footage captured the moment Rachel Marie Warner, 24, made her getaway barefoot down the hallway of the East Hotel in Brickell, Miami, on May 8 - just three hours after entering the room with a man she'd met for drinks at a rooftop bar earlier that night. Warner, who was visiting the Florida city from her home in Nevada, is accused of drugging and robbing multiple men she met at upscale Miami bars with her most recent heist being an $18,000 Rolex from her latest victim. Footage that emerged this week shows Warner dashing into an elevator while barefoot with her heels in hand. Another camera captured Warner crossing the street outside just moments later, stilettoes now firmly on her feet. Warner was arrested by Miami police on May 8 after the man reported he had been drugged and robbed. The two allegedly met at Sugar, a trendy rooftop bar in the city's financial district. He told officers Warner had joined him for drinks and later accompanied him back to his hotel. Footage from inside the elevator shows the pair heading to his room. But according to the arrest report, the victim's memory stops shortly after Warner prepared him a drink inside. 'After consuming the drink, the victim stated he does not recall what transpired afterward,' police said. By the time he woke up, Warner, and his luxury Rolex, were both gone. But detectives say the incident wasn't Warner's first rodeo. Back in March, another man told police he met Warner and brought her to his apartment on Northeast First Avenue. While he was briefly in the bathroom, Warner allegedly made off with his Rolex from a safe. And on New Year's Eve, a third man reported partying with Warner at LIV Nightclub in Miami Beach. After the celebration, he said she disappeared from his Midtown apartment-along with more than $60,000 worth of jewelry, watches and cash. And when authorities finally tracked her down, they found incriminating messages on her phone suggesting she wasn't working alone. 'I gave him all the drops and he still hasn't fell asleep,' one text reportedly read, an apparent reference to spiking a victim's drink. She is pictured going into the elevator while barefoot with her heels in hand Inside Warner's purse, cops also discovered two bottles of eye drops containing a white liquid, which they said was 'inconsistent with clear eye drops' and suspected to be laced with drugs. She now faces various charges, from burglary with assault or battery, to grand theft, and possession of a controlled substance, believed to be ketamine.

Thief avoids jail after cars and watches worth £250k were stolen from home

The watches, which are worth around £150,000, have never been found. A thief has narrowly avoided prison after cars and watches worth £250,000 were stolen from a house in East Kilbride. ‌ Hamilton Sheriff Court heard the raid happened during a 20-minute period when the householders were out walking their dog. ‌ Leon Barnes, 23, was ordered to do 300 hours of unpaid community work within 12 months. ‌ He admitted being involved in the break-in and theft at Glengoyne Court on November 6, 2022. Barnes was caught after his DNA was found inside the property. Neil Thomson, prosecuting, said the householders left around 6.15pm to walk their dog, locking the doors as they did so. ‌ He told the court: 'When they returned 20 minutes later they noticed the front door was ajar. There were muddy footprints in the hallway and on the stairs. 'Two Audi cars, each worth approximately £50,000, were missing along with the car keys and a quantity of valuable watches, some of which were Rolex. ‌ 'The cars were recovered in Edinburgh but the watches, which are worth around £150,000, have never been found.' Mr Thomson said entry to the house was gained by smashing a rear window. That area was swabbed by scenes of crime officers and Barnes's DNA was found. ‌ Barnes, of Drumbrae Drive, Edinburgh, admitted previous convictions. Defence lawyer Mark Hutchison said he was 'in the grip of bad company' at the time of this crime. Mr Hutchison added: 'He has since managed to turn his life around. He got himself off drugs and obtained full-time employment as a scaffolder.' Sheriff Mungo Bovey said he was willing to impose the maximum period of unpaid work as a direct alternative to a custodial sentence.
