Popular playback singer Chinmayi Sripada has made a powerful and emotional appearance on the music reality show Star Singer, marking her debut on Malayalam television. Her performance, reflections, and moving tribute on the show have captured the hearts of fans across the state, with her rendition of "Muththa Mazhai" now going viral on social media.
Chinmayi's guest appearance in the latest episode of Star Singer was nothing short of electrifying. From the moment she stepped on stage, she mesmerized both contestants and judges with her soulful voice and heartfelt comments. The episode also included a touching tribute that took her, and the audience, through an emotional journey, highlighting her career highs and personal struggles.
The show featured a special video biography chronicling Chinmayi's journey, from her debut at age 15 to becoming one of the most sought-after voices in South Indian cinema, and the unexpected turn of events that saw her being banned from the Tamil film industry.
Overcome with emotion, Chinmayi opened up about the difficult period following her exclusion from Kollywood. "When the ban happened, I thought that my whole career was gone. I was just juggling between court and home,' she said. 'Even during that time, I used to get opportunities from Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada. But think of the situation when you can't sing in your mother tongue. I felt like I was thrown out of my own home.
"
She added, "I used to scold God, asking why this was happening to me. But I believe, God has now blessed me with this moment too. Because whatever is happening around me, no human can do something like this. It's a God's gift."
The singer also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the women of Kerala for their support during the #MeToo movement. Recalling the time when lyricist
Vairamuthu
was selected for the ONV award, she said, 'The women in Kerala protested that such an honour shouldn't be given to someone like him.
The way they stood up for another woman, I didn't get that kind of support from anywhere else.'
Veteran singer and judge KS Chithra praised Chinmayi, stating that her strength and journey have inspired every contestant on the show. As a token of appreciation, the Star Singer team presented Chinmayi with a traditional Kerala saree, to which she responded with joy, promising to wear it for the upcoming Onam festival.

Will Smith To Join Allu Arjun, Deepika Padukone In Atlee's Sci-Fi Film? What We Know

Allu Arjun teams up with director Atlee for a sci-fi action film, AA22xA6, with a budget of Rs 800 crore. Will Smith may play the villain. South Indian superstar Allu Arjun is all set to take things to the next level with a massive sci-fi action film, currently titled AA22xA6 (working title). This big-ticket project marks his first collaboration with Atlee, the hitmaker behind blockbusters like Jawan, known for blending emotion with mass entertainment. With a jaw-dropping budget of Rs 800 crore, the movie is being produced by Sun Pictures, and the buzz is off the charts. One of the most exciting developments? According to reports, a famous Hollywood actor is in talks to play the villain in this movie. And it's not just any actor—it's Will Smith, the global superstar known for movies like Men in Black, I Am Legend, and The Pursuit of Happyness. If confirmed, this would mark Will Smith's first major role in an Indian film—and that too, as the main antagonist. A move that could signal a major shift in how Indian films are perceived globally. To match the scale of the cast and story, the makers are going all-in with top-tier VFX work by Hollywood studios that have previously worked on massive franchises like Avengers, Spider-Man, and Wonder Woman. The team is crafting the visuals and action with an international audience in mind. There's more. In a major update, Allu Arjun's team recently clarified that the actor will be playing double roles in the film, which has only added to the excitement. Fans can expect a high-voltage showdown between Arjun's dual characters and the Hollywood villain. The movie is also rumoured to feature a two-hero storyline, though details on the second lead are still under wraps. Joining the cast are leading Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone and Mrunal Thakur, bringing even more star power to an already high-profile project. Atlee, who made blockbusters like Jawan, is known for mixing strong emotions with mass action. His team-up with Allu Arjun promises a high-energy entertainer packed with emotions, scale, and spectacle. Previously, Allu Arjun shared details about AA22xA6 in an interview with News9. The actor said, 'Yes, it's my twenty-second film, it's with Atlee garu who directed Jawaan, and we have come together for it. I like the idea that he told me, and I like his aspirations, and I felt it was like mine on many levels, and we hope to bring a very new visual spectacle film to Indian cinema."

This actress known for her glamorous role, was murdered at 24, her body was discovered after..., her name was...

Before the age of 25, she had everything — beauty, fame, talent, and over 30 films to her name. Rani Padmini, a celebrated Tamil and Malayalam actress, was more than just a starlet. A trained Bharatanatyam dancer with a powerful screen presence, she was once touted as the next big name in Southern cinema. Born in 1962 in Kerala, Rani fulfilled the dream her mother, Indira Kumari, once had — to be a film actress. In the early '80s, she stormed the silver screen, sharing frames with top actors and delivering back-to-back hits. Living the dream… Until it became a nightmare By her early 20s, Rani Padmini was living a life many could only imagine. She drove a Nissan, lived in a posh rented bungalow in Chennai's Anna Nagar, and was on the verge of purchasing it. She was also among the highest-paid young actresses of the time. She and her mother were brutally murdered — not by strangers, but by their own three house staff members, all of whom had criminal records. The killers stabbed Rani 12 times and her mother 14 times. Their bodies lay undiscovered in the bathroom for four days. When stardom meets vulnerability The news sent shockwaves across the country. How could someone so young, so powerful in the public eye, fall prey to such horror in her own home? Her death became a tragic reminder that fame can't always protect you. In a pre-CCTV era, her murder case exposed the dangers of blind trust and the price women in power often pay. Though her career was brief, Rani Padmini remains etched in the minds of cinephiles — not just for her performances, but for the devastating way her story ended. A haunting legacy of what could've been — and what was cut short far too soon.
