NLE Choppa denies 'gay baiting' accusations over viral 'playgirl' photoshoot
The 22-year-old rapper, currently in Paris for Fashion Week, took to social media to address the criticism. He responded directly to a tweet claiming he was "gay baiting," clarifying that he was simply expressing "freedom" and comfort in his own skin.
In a video from his hotel bathroom, Choppa explained, "I just feel like narratives get painted because I don't care so much," adding, "But do not say that I'm a gay baiter because I'm comfortable enough to show off the perfection that God has orchestrated over my physical, my mental, my spiritual, and even my emotions."
Choppa continued, "I am not a gay baiter because I posted a selfie in the mirror showing off how beautiful I am. I am not a gay baiter if I post a picture showing off how much God has blessed from below the waist with something that got women going crazy. I am not a gay baiter because, in [my] Playgirl shoot, I show a piece of my ass. I can't show a piece of my own ass without being called a name? It's my ass!"

The rapper, known for his hit "Slut Me Out 2," also expressed his love for himself, explaining that his confidence as a Black man is often misunderstood. He wrote on X, "I understand me being in love with myself as a BLACKMAN is so RARE to the point that some people try putting the homosexual jacket on my name."
In previous statements, Choppa made it clear that while he supports the LGBTQ community, his romantic interests are exclusively with women. He also addressed the backlash from his desire to perform at a Pride event, saying, "I'm secure, I know who I am. Show love, it won't hurt and also you do know women are a part of the LGBTQ community right[,] you gone hate them too?"

Adam Lambert defends Cynthia Erivo as Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar Hollywood Bowl production
Adam Lambert is voicing strong support for Cynthia Erivo's casting as Jesus in the Hollywood Bowl's three-night production of Jesus Christ Superstar, saying the musical was always meant to provoke and challenge audiences. In a recent interview with Billboard, Lambert—who plays Judas in the production—said he is 'excited' to present a version of Christ led by a 'female, Black' performer. 'Cynthia's brilliant,' he said. 'Her voice, presence, and simultaneous power and vulnerability absolutely blow my mind, and working with her has been a dream.' Casting a queer, Black woman in the role of Christ has drawn some pushback, but Lambert sees it as an opportunity to rethink traditional portrayals. 'I'm excited by the challenge of presenting the audience with a production led by a female, Black Jesus and encourage the audience to expand their minds a bit,' he told Billboard. 'Originally utilizing rock and roll, Jesus Christ Superstar is supposed to provoke and challenge—that's the point. And shouldn't the teachings of Jesus transcend gender?' Erivo also addressed the criticism in a separate Billboard interview in June, responding with humor: 'Why not? You can't please everyone. It is legitimately a three-day performance at the Hollywood Bowl where I get to sing my face off. So hopefully they will come and realize, 'Oh, it's a musical, the gayest place on Earth.'' The production also features Milo Manheim, Raúl Esparza, and Phillipa Soo. John Stamos joined the cast at the last minute, replacing Josh Gad, who had to withdraw due to a COVID-related complication. Directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Sergio Trujillo, the show is conducted and music-directed by Tony and Grammy winner Stephen Oremus. The event, running August 1–3, reflects a growing movement in modern theater to reimagine classic works through more inclusive casting and storytelling.

ALLDAY PROJECT Tarzzan faces backlash for allegedly using racist slur in viral rap video
Tarzzan, member of co-ed K-pop group ALLDAY PROJECT, is under fire once again, this time over a viral video in which he allegedly says the N-word while rapping. The 22-year-old idol was filmed during a guest appearance in a car, rapping along to 'LIKE WEEZY' by Playboi Carti. Fans claim he replaced the word 'boy' in the original lyrics with the racial slur. The video, initially uploaded to TikTok and later removed from YouTube, quickly spread across social media. Critics pointed to this moment as further evidence of ongoing cultural appropriation by the idol, citing his use of braids, grills, and overall styling influenced by Black culture since his debut. One user posted, 'Everything about that Tarzzan guy should have gotten him cancelled even before his debut,' adding that he has never addressed previous criticisms. Another user said, 'He has not issued a single apology or acknowledgement of his actions.' Defenders of Tarzzan argue the video may have been misinterpreted. The issue gained further traction when a fake apology, styled as an official statement surfaced online. The fan-made post referenced both the viral video and past allegations, falsely claiming Tarzzan had been removed from the group. While not real, the message captured what many fans believed the company should address. However, neither Tarzzan, ALLDAY PROJECT, nor their label THEBLACKLABEL has issued a public comment or apology regarding the incident.
