Eric Dane says 'Euphoria' made him feel like an artist for the first time in his career
In a candid new interview, actor Eric Dane opened up about his evolving identity as an actor, revealing that working on HBO's Euphoria was the first time he truly felt like an artist.
Dane, who plays the complex character Cal Jacobs, credited showrunner Sam Levinson and the series' extended production style with unlocking new creative depth.
'I never considered myself an artist until I started making Euphoria,' Dane said. 'That's when I gave myself the allowance to feel like I was an artist.'
Dane noted the stark contrast between Euphoria's meticulous 20- to 30-day shoot schedules and the fast-paced 8-day episodes typical of network dramas like Grey's Anatomy, where he rose to fame as 'McSteamy.' That deeper, more spacious process, he said, allowed for more discovery, vulnerability, and character growth.
Though filming for Euphoria Season 3 has faced delays, Dane remains committed to the role and praised the professionalism of his younger castmates, including Jacob Elordi and Zendaya. 'I have a pretty good radar for people who'll turn into assholes,' he said jokingly, 'and this cast stayed grounded.'
Dane briefly acknowledged his recent ALS diagnosis, stating he preferred to keep the focus on his work. He also stars in Amazon's Countdown, debuting June 25, and says he'll stay with Euphoria 'until the wheels fall off.'
Both introspective and energized, Dane continues to navigate high-stakes TV while deepening his sense of artistic purpose.

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez honeymoon at ‘White Lotus' hotel in Sicily
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez are reportedly celebrating their honeymoon in Sicily following their lavish £40 million wedding in Venice. The newlyweds are said to be staying at the historic Four Seasons San Domenico Palace, famously featured in HBO's The White Lotus Season 2. On Sunday, the couple was seen departing the Aman Venice hotel by boat, reportedly lunching in Torcello before flying by helicopter to Bezos' $500 million superyacht, Koru. The yacht is expected to dock in Taormina, where the luxurious hotel—offering suites over €7,000 per night—is located. The three-day wedding, held on San Giorgio Maggiore island, was described as the 'wedding of the century,' with nearly 200 VIP guests in attendance. Celebrities like Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Leonardo DiCaprio, Oprah Winfrey, Tom Brady, Orlando Bloom, and Bill Gates were among the attendees. Highlights from the celebration included performances by Usher and DJ Cassidy, a no-phone policy, and a private ceremony. According to Daily Mail sources, the couple had already been legally married in the U.S. before the event and signed a prenuptial agreement to safeguard Bezos' $244 billion fortune. Lauren Sanchez stunned in a rose pink Atelier Versace gown, while Bezos adopted a more casual style post-wedding. The San Domenico Palace, their honeymoon destination, boasts a rich legacy, once hosting icons like Sophia Loren and Oscar Wilde.

Reacher season 4 recasts Jay Baruchel with Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette
Production on the fourth season of Prime Video's hit action series Reacher is underway, with Alan Ritchson set to return as the iconic Jack Reacher. However, the show has undergone a casting shake-up following the departure of Jay Baruchel due to an undisclosed personal matter. As first reported by Deadline, Baruchel, 43, was originally cast to play Jacob Merrick, a small-town police officer. But just weeks after the casting announcement, he exited the production, prompting a swift recast. Actor Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette has now taken over the role. Rodriguez-Marquette is best known for his performance as Chris Lucado in HBO's Barry. Baruchel, known for roles in How to Train Your Dragon, This Is the End, and BlackBerry, has not publicly commented on his departure or the circumstances behind it. He has been married to Rebecca-Jo Dunham since 2019. Season 4 of Reacher is slated for release in 2026 and is based on Lee Child's 2009 novel Gone Tomorrow, the 13th book in the bestselling Jack Reacher series. The show debuted in 2022 and quickly gained a strong following, with Ritchson's portrayal of the title character receiving praise for aligning more closely with the physicality of the literary version than previous screen adaptations. Tom Cruise previously played Jack Reacher in two feature films, beginning in 2012 under the direction of Christopher McQuarrie. Actor Jai Courtney, who appeared in the first film, recently reflected on missing out on the lead role for the TV series. Speaking to Forbes, he praised Ritchson's performance and expressed admiration for the actor's growing career, particularly his upcoming role in Netflix's War Machine alongside Courtney himself. Despite the casting change, anticipation remains high for the upcoming season.

Drake's deep Instagram caption gets overshadowed by ab etching rumors
Drake's latest Instagram post, intended to deliver a deep philosophical message, quickly became a trending topic — but not for the reasons he may have hoped. On June 28, the rapper shared a series of images on Instagram, including a shirtless mirror selfie taken at a bar and a video of himself jogging in Bexar County, Texas. While his caption aimed to reflect on ambition and perseverance — 'I'm wide awake for the nights that separate the type who get to it til they get it right from the type who just …type' — fans bypassed the sentiment to question the authenticity of his abs. The post marks Drake's first public display of his physique since Kendrick Lamar's diss track 'Euphoria,' where Lamar referenced Drake's abdominal appearance, comparing them to a V12 engine — suggesting they might be artificially enhanced. Social media quickly lit up with speculation, memes, and accusations of 'ab etching.' One user on X (formerly Twitter) commented, 'Those might be the fakest abs I've ever seen.' Drake is setting out his freshly redone etch-a-sketch abs for the summer I see. Why won't he just leave us alone already?! No amount of public embarrassment will deter him. Bring back shame! — Fucking Victoria (@EthansMama4) June 29, 2025 drake went and got ab etching done. where they strategically remove fat on your stomach to accentuate your abs. this shit looks so unnatural, he woudlnt have the chest fat / love handles if he got down to the bf% needed for this definition naturally. — Degen, CPA (@Degen_CPA) June 29, 2025 Drake showing off his successful abed surgery — @ (@dotNoso) June 29, 2025 Those might be the fakest abs I've ever seen — Spectre (@spectre0799) June 29, 2025 Despite the wave of skepticism, some fans defended the rapper's dedication, linking the post to hints that he may be back in 'album mode.' Regardless, the conversation has been dominated by his physique, not his words. The moment underscores how public image can often eclipse intent — especially for someone as polarizing as Drake.
