Syrian Government enters Suwayda for evacuations after deadly clashes
Shafaq News – Suwayda Syrian government buses entered Suwayda Province in southern Syria to evacuate individuals following a newly brokered ceasefire, reached after intense clashes that left over 900 people dead from all sides. State broadcaster Al-Ikhbariya reported that the buses were sent to evacuate wounded individuals and detainees from within the city. Brigadier General Ahmad al-Dalati, head of the Internal Security Forces, stated that government mediation with local Druze factions led to an agreement for the release of detained Bedouin families and their safe return. Interior Minister Mohammad Anas al-Khatib announced that security forces had restored calm in the northern and western parts of Suwayda and had implemented the latest ceasefire agreement, describing the deployment as a first step toward reducing the spread of weapons and restoring public order, leading toward a potential prisoner exchange and the gradual return of stability across the province. 'The ceasefire is now the central reference point, enabling state institutions to resume their administrative and service functions,' al-Khatib said. Armed clashes broke out on July 13 between Druze factions and Bedouin tribes in Suwayda, prompting the deployment of Syrian government forces. Those forces were later attacked by groups Damascus labeled as 'unlawful,' resulting in the deaths of dozens of soldiers. While the government has positioned itself as a mediator, other reports alleged that Syrian government forces themselves committed abuses against Druze residents in the province, including killings, beatings, and humiliation based on religious background. The Syrian authorities have firmly denied these accusations, blaming what they described as 'outlaw groups' for the violence and unrest.

Humanitarian corridor in Suwayda: 73 civilians evacuated
Shafaq News – Suwayda On Sunday, the Syrian Civil Defense evacuated 73 civilians from Suwayda province, most of them women and children, as part of ongoing efforts to relocate vulnerable residents from areas hit by recent clashes. Relief teams, working in coordination with humanitarian organizations, have been distributing essential supplies at temporary shelter centers established for displaced families. At the same time, the Internal Security Commander in Suwayda confirmed that detained Bedouin families are expected to be released within hours. Preparations are underway to ensure their safe return home. He underscored that all parties remain committed to the recently brokered ceasefire. The truce came after several days of deadly confrontations between local armed factions and Bedouin tribal fighters in and around the city. Earlier, Syrian Interior Ministry spokesperson Nour al-Din al-Baba announced that all tribal fighters had been cleared from Suwayda and that combat inside urban areas had ended. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), more than 1,000 people have been killed since the fighting erupted. The toll includes 336 Druze fighters and 298 Druze civilians. On the opposing side, 342 personnel from the Ministry of Defense and the General Security Directorate were killed, along with 21 members of Bedouin tribes.

Iraqi Resistance denies role in Kurdistan oil strikes
Shafaq News - Baghdad On Sunday, the Coordinating Committee of the Iraqi Resistance denied involvement in recent attacks targeting several oil facilities across the Kurdistan Region. In a statement, the committee characterized the strikes on the Region's oil fields as a "settling of scores between oil companies and the Regional Government," rejecting claims of a cross-border conflict. The statement underscored that Islamic resistance factions have consistently avoided actions that could harm civilians or security forces in both northern and southern Iraq, emphasizing their primary focus on national interests. It also urged the Regional Government (KRG) to refrain from exporting internal disputes to federal authorities and to seek resolution through local channels. Attacks on Kurdistan's oil infrastructure have intensified in recent days. On the night of July 14, a drone strike targeted the Khurmala oil field southwest of Erbil. Subsequent attacks raised the number of drone incidents to at least nine within a week. The KRG described the attacks as "terrorist acts" aimed at damaging critical economic assets, accusing groups linked to the Popular Mobilization Forces of orchestrating the strikes. Baghdad later dismissed these allegations, citing a lack of evidence.
