Foreign claims dismissed, Sabah's sovereignty remains intact
He expressed gratitude to the federal government and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the government's commitment to protecting the rights and sovereignty of the state.
He said that the state government greatly values the various forms of assistance and initiatives provided by the federal government, particularly in areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, and security.
'The strong ties and close cooperation with the federal government will continue to be upheld to ensure that Sabah is not left behind in national development,' he said.
Hajiji said this in his address at the 2025 Sabah State Honours and Awards investiture ceremony held at Istana Seri Kinabalu today, where 60 individuals were conferred state honours, awards and medals by the Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sabah, Tun Musa Aman.
Hajiji also gave his assurance that the implementation of inclusive and comprehensive development policies under the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) roadmap will be further enhanced as part of ongoing efforts to ensure the progress and well-being of Sabahans.
He said that since its introduction, the road map has had a significant impact, particularly in areas such as economic recovery, investment, agriculture, human capital development, and the overall well-being of the people.
He added that the state government is focusing on the development of the agricultural sector, which plays a crucial role in ensuring food security in Sabah, noting that the key initiatives include the establishment of the Sabah Padi and Rice Board (LPBS) and the launch of the Paddy Crop Takaful Scheme (STTP), aimed at raising the state's rice self-sufficiency level from the current 24 per cent to 60 per cent by 2030.
Hajiji also said the state government has approved the establishment of the Sabah TVET Council to coordinate and monitor technical and vocational education and training in line with current industry needs.
'We want to ensure that Sabah's youth are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to the development of the state and the nation,' he added.

'The government will continue to find ways to assist you,' he told local business leaders at the CEO Masterclass Sabah 2025: Scale Beyond Limits held at the Sabah International Convention Centre, here, Thursday. 'The most important thing is having the right mindset and creating an ecosystem that is business friendly and comfortable for people to do business and grow their business. 'The business of the government is not to compete with the private sector but rather to facilitate the innovation of privately owned companies to make more money,' he said. The event was co-organised by the Sabah Young Business and Industry Leaders (Sybil) and the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) in support of the Sabah Trade and Tourism Office Singapore with Daily Express as the media partner. While acknowledging infrastructure issues in Sabah, Masidi said the government's support goes beyond just solving infrastructure problems but also creating the right environment for businesses to thrive. 'We are continuing to try to improve, and I know it is a huge challenge, but I am sure one day we can say that we can tackle the problem and solve the problem together,' he said. He also pointed out the important need for unity among all stakeholders for moving forward. 'We should be united. I know that we have friends from all generations, but until we unite, help each other and look at the needs while complementing each other's biggest assets, it will be difficult for us to go forward,' Masidi said. Additionally, he pointed out the importance of collaboration over competition, saying that success comes from working together rather than from individual efforts. 'If you talk about scaling the boundaries, it is about networking and creating something that we can do together. Instead of just me or you. It should be us,' he said. He also spoke about the importance of adaptability in today's fast-changing business environment. 'Adaptability means being able to weather a storm because you are adaptable to changing circumstances. Things can change overnight. So, we need to be ready. 'We need to have good collaborations and networking because we need adaptability. We must work together and be more adaptable to changing circumstances. 'I sincerely believe that Sabahans have full potential, a lot of potential to grow. With the right mindset and collaborative approach, the State can overcome its challenges and unlock its full economic potential,' he said. Meanwhile, MICCI Vice President Datuk Lee Swi Heng said the event captures the collective vision to empower each other towards unlocking potential and pursuing sustainable growth far beyond conventional boundaries. 'We hope that the CEO Masterclass 2025 has not only offered valuable perspectives but has also ignited within each participant the courage to dream bigger, act bolder and confidently tackle the exciting challenges of scaling your businesses,' he said. A unique feature of this year's masterclass was the inclusion of 'Human Books', comprising successful entrepreneurs who shared their personal journeys and practical business insights with participants. '21st century is for India and ASEAN countries': MoS Margherita reiterates PM Modi's vision during Foreign Ministers' Meet
Kuala Lumpur [Malaysia], July 13 (ANI): Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita delivered an inspiring speech during the ASEAN-India Foreign Minister's Meeting in Malaysia, affirming the strength of ties between India and the ASEAN countries. In a significant announcement, he mentioned that with support from ASEAN partners, 100 per cent implementation of the ASEAN-India Plan of Action 2021-2025 was achieved. In his opening remarks delivered at the Foreign Ministers' Meeting on July 10, he thanked Theresa Lazaro, for her leadership in facilitating deeper ASEAN-India cooperation as the Country Coordinator. He congratulated Malaysia for the Chairmanship of ASEAN and extended full support for successful Chairmanship. He also thanked Malaysia for the warm welcome and hospitality to the Indian delegation. In his remarks, he said, 'We convey our deepest appreciation to Lao PDR for their successful Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2024. I cordially welcome Timor Leste to this meeting and welcome the decision of ASEAN to have Timor-Leste as the 11th Member of ASEAN in October 2025. India will continue to support Timor Leste.' He complimented ASEAN on the 10th anniversary of the ASEAN Community. 'Adoption of the Kuala Lumpur Declaration on ASEAN Community Vision 2045, at the recently held ASEAN Summit, is indeed significant', MoS Margherita added. Speaking about the depth of ties, he underscored, 'India and ASEAN share civilisational bonds. For India, ASEAN is the cornerstone of its Act East Policy and the Indo-Pacific vision. India firmly supports ASEAN Unity and ASEAN Centrality. The synergy between ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) and India's Indo-Pacific Oceans Initiative (IPOI) augurs well for our region.' 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi has attended 11 ASEAN-India Summits so far. At the last ASEAN-India Summit last year in Vientiane, Hon'ble Prime Minister said: 'The 21st century is the Asian Century, a century for India and ASEAN countries.' Together, we can make that a reality. Last year, Hon'ble Prime Minister announced a 10-point plan for strengthening the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership which we are implementing', MoS Margherita said. 'Our partnership is thriving on strong people-to-people linkages. The priority India attaches to ASEAN led mechanisms is reflected in increasing practical cooperation across political-security, economic and socio-cultural domains. With support from our ASEAN partners, we achieved 100 per cent implementation of the ASEAN-India Plan of Action 2021-2025', he highlighted. In his concluding remarks, he had extended deep appreciation to all ASEAN Foreign Ministers for special efforts towards strengthening ASEAN-India relations through substantive and tangible cooperation.
