Supercross 2025 results: 250 highlights, finishing order, reaction at Seattle, Cole Davies gets first win
Cole Davies, 17, earned the holeshot at Lumen Field, in Seattle, Washington, briefly lost the lead, and then dominated the race to become the 10th winner in 11 rounds of 250 divisional competition. It was his first professional dirt bike win.
Davies was initially scheduled to compete in the Supercross Next program, but it didn't take long for the Star Yamaha team to realize he belonged in the professional ranks. He scored his first podium in his third start when the series returned to Anaheim for its second race of 2025, and Davies followed that up with another third-place overall finish in Glendale, Arizona, in a Triple Crown format race. Davies continued to show speed, but mistakes cost him in the next two opportunities. A dominant performance in Seattle erased any bad memories.

Garrett Marchbanks has also lived through an up-and-down season. He's shown strength at times, but entered Seattle with only one top-five this year and an average finish of 7.4 in his first five attempts. He rode a flawless race Saturday night and never fell out of podium contention during the 20-lap Main. His second-place finish was his first podium since last year in San Diego while riding for ClubMX.
Haiden Deegan crashed early in the race and fell to eighth after Lap 2. Poor starts do not deter the brash teenage rider, however, and he began collecting the competition like trading cards in the spokes of a bicycle wheel. He cracked the top five on Lap 7 and moved into fourth on Lap 12. His sight was set on a podium when he caught Julien Beaumer on Lap 18 and muscled him out of the groove to score his second consecutive podium.
For Beaumer, Seattle was a missed opportunity. He led the first lap of the race before falling to second for 13 of the next 14 laps as Deegan was mired in traffic. Beaumer was on pace to cut into Deegan's points lead before the incident with the championship leader. As for the contact near the end of the race? Beaumer says Deegan 'has one coming.'
Jo Shimoda spent the Seattle race hovering around the top five before finishing fifth. This was the first race without a hand guard since Shimoda broke two fingers after hitting a pit board in qualification for Round 2 in San Diego. Shimoda showed some feistiness as Deegan was passing him, riding his rival wide, but ultimately relinquished the spot. Shimoda was the last rider to finish on the lead lap.
Jordon Smith returned to action after puncturing his lung in an Arlington crash. He crashed in his heat, advanced to the Main via the Last Chance Qualifier, and finished 12th.

Shohei Ohtani pitching highlights: Dodgers star throws fastest pitch of career
It was another Shohei Ohtani bump day, and for the first time in 2025, he went more than one inning. And he brought the heat in Kansas City. Ohtani pitched two innings of scoreless baseball against the Kansas City Royals on Saturday, June 28, and he notched another career achievement when he threw the hardest pitch of his career at 102 mph. Saturday was a first for the Los Angeles Dodgers star in 2025 in that he pitched away from home. In his first two starts, he tossed an inning of work before he rushed near the dugout to get his batting gear on so he could bat leadoff. This time around, he got to take an at-bat before he threw a single pitch, allowing him to have a not-so-chaotic first inning. It didn't start well at the plate, as Ohtani struck out on three pitches, the third straight time he started the day with a strikeout when pitching. Trouble was brewing in the first inning of pitching for Ohtani, but he was able to work out of it. After he got leadoff hitter Jonathan India to fly out, he gave up a bloop single to Bobby Witt Jr. before he walked Maikel Garcia on five pitches. Batters have reached in all of Ohtani's first innings of work, but the threat ended quickly when he got Vinny Pasquantino to ground into a double play. The second inning was much more smooth for the two-way star. He retired the side, including a strikeout on rookie Jac Caglianone, on 13 pitches, and the velocity was still up in the high 90s. He finished the day on the mound with 27 pitches − 20 of which were strikes −against seven batters, giving up one hit and one strikeout. After he was dependent on the sweeper in his most recent outing against the Washington Nationals, Ohtani relied on the fastball in Kansas City. He threw it 11 times and he threw triple-digits three times on the day. The sweeper was also used often, but it was the first time Ohtani reincorporated the slider into his pitch arsenal. He certainly got Kansas City conscious of it as the Royal swung on all four sliders he threw, including the swinging strikeout by Caglianone. Mariners' Cal Raleigh to participate in MLB Home Run Derby amid historic 2025 pace
Cal Raleigh's storybook first half to the 2025 MLB season just received another uplifting twist. The Seattle Mariners catcher, who leads all major league players with 32 home runs, will be taking part in the Home Run Derby on July 14 as part of the MLB All-Star Game festivities at Truist Park outside Atlanta. Raleigh announced the development on June 27 on social media, writing in a post on Instagram 'See you in Atlanta!' If Raleigh were to win, he would also become the first catcher and the first switch hitter to win the Home Run Derby outright (as noted by switch-hitter Ruben Sierra tied with Eric Davis in 1989). Will other Bengals join Ja'Marr Chase on top 25 under-25 lists soon?
The Cincinnati Bengals continue to feature prominently on top 25 NFL players 25 and under lists. A 2025 edition of the list comes from CBS Sports' Cody Benjamin, who outright has Ja'Marr Chase topping the entire NFL in this category: 'Chase's former LSU teammate Justin Jefferson topped this list a year ago. It's only right the Bengals star claims the crown for himself. Freshly rewarded with a long-term deal in Cincinnati, No. 1 is the only wideout to rival Jefferson in sheer big-play spectacle, leading all receivers in catches (127), yards (1,708) and touchdowns (17) to close his fourth season. Joe Burrow slinging the rock certainly helps, but Chase is capable of taking any pass to the house at any time. He and Burrow make the Bengals -- if not contenders, then spectacular showmen.'
