Lille president directly addresses Hamza Igamane transfer as Rangers told exactly where they stand

The Ibrox owners are standing firm on the £15million valuation of the striker
Lille president Olivier Letang has admitted the club are interested in Rangers striker Hamza Igamane this summer.
But is appears the Ligue 1 side are in no rush to make their move with Letang revealing that they have not put an offer on the table for the Moroccan international.

Igamane impressed in his debut Scottish Premiership campaign - netting 16 goals for the Light Blues after a £1.7million move from AS FA last summer.

And Rangers new owners 49ers Enterprises are determined to land a bumper profit in the 22-year-old with the Glasgow giants holding out for a £15million payday.
Igamane has already agreed personal terms with the French club with talks ongoing over the striker as they look to add competition for Olivier Giroud - who recently arrived from LAFC - following Jonathan David's switch to Juventus.
Striker Vivaldo Semedo was on the agenda but opted for a switch to Watford from Udinese - and Letang admits that Igamane remains on their shortlist.
Asked by La Voix Des Sports about the frontman, the Lille supremo said: "He is indeed a player we are following, but we have not yet made any offers to his club."
Igamane was not involved in Rangers' first pre-season fixture against Club Brugge on Sunday - fuelling speculation over his future.

But boss Russell Martin expects the highly-rated star to return to training in the coming days.
Following the draw with the Beligan's he said: "Hamza's (absence) has just been a bit of a red tape. He was due back this week with the other international players.
'He was at the airport and they just didn't have the right visa. I don't think it's anyone's fault.

"Things have changed since he last got his visa. So, we had to wait for him to get a new one, which he should have tomorrow and he will be with us this week. I haven't heard of any bid, not that I know of.'

Rangers see Champions League rivals Plzen force fixture to be axed

Raging boss Miroslav Koubek took his case to the authorities after booking a date in the third qualifying round Viktoria Plzen have been granted a fixture postponement ahead of facing Rangers in the Champions League after taking their case to the Czech football authorities. ‌ Plzen earned the right to face the Light Blues after coming from behind in the third qualifying round to edge past Swiss outfit Servette 3-2 over two legs ‌ They will now travel to Glasgow next Tuesday to take on a Light Blues side - but going into the crucial showdown Viktoria Plzen boss Miroslav Koubek has bemoaned their lack of preparation time before facing Russell Martin's side. ‌ Rangers begin their Premiership campaign with a trip to Fir Park to face Motherwell on Saturday - just 90 minutes after Plzen's fixture with Mlada Boleslav. But after taking the row to the governing body, the club have seen the game axed. Club spokesman Václav Hanzlík said: "Due to Tuesday's match in Glasgow and the associated travel, we have asked the LFA and Mladá Boleslav to postpone Saturday's match. "We greatly appreciate that both sides agreed and we can now fully concentrate on the very important match of the third qualifying round of the Champions League, which is important due to the coefficient for all of Czech football." The loser of the clash will be guaranteed group stage football until Christmas at least, with the team that is knocked out dropping into the revamped group phase of the Europa League. ‌ Irked Koubek laid out an impassioned case for why the game should be called off following their European progress. He said: "The players are euphoric, but our schedule is a killer. "I don't know if I should even unpack my bags, there's no time for anything, not even to study Rangers. ‌ "Some associations make it easier for clubs and postpone their league round at such a moment. With us, it is automatic only in the case of the play-offs. "We will certainly be asking the question and I would welcome some help from the Czech football authorities. "It's extremely complicated for us now. We don't meet the requirement set by FIFA that players have 72 hours of rest between matches. We now finish at midnight on Wednesday night and are supposed to play at 5pm on Saturday. ‌ "We fly home on Thursday, we will leave for Mlada Boleslav on Friday, we will be home on Sunday and we will fly again on Monday. "The players wanted to celebrate, but I told them they weren't even allowed a single beer. I ordered them to go straight to bed." The Czech coach complained to the FA about the lack of preparation time that his team will have before their upcoming qualifier against Rangers. He said: "The players are euphoric, but our schedule is a killer. "I don't know if I should even unpack my bags, there's no time for anything, not even to study Rangers. "Some associations make it easier for clubs and postpone their league round at such a moment. With us, it is automatic only in the case of the play-offs. "It's extremely complicated for us now. We don't meet the requirement set by FIFA that players have 72 hours of rest between matches." Viktoria Plzen have been thrown a lifeline by the Czech FA, granting them a postponement of their third Chance Liga fixture against Mlada Boleslav. The club released a statement today and said: 'Due to Tuesday's match in Glasgow and the associated travel, we have asked the LFA and Mladá Boleslav to postpone Saturday's match. 'We very much appreciate the fact that both sides complied and we can now fully concentrate on the very important match of the third preliminary round of the Champions League, which is important for the whole of Czech football due to the coefficient.' Viktoria Plzen face Rangers on August 5 with the return leg coming a week later on August 12. Rangers transfer special as Russell Martin eyes THREE wingers, Coady latest and Dowell future Both teams head into the fixture high on confidence, with Rangers going through against Panathinaikos in Athens and Viktoria Plzen staging an impressive comeback away to Servette to go through to the next round. The Czech side went into the second leg 1-0 down on aggregate, and an early goal from Servette could've been enough to put them away. But Koubek's men went on to score two goals in the first half and striker Rafiu Durosinmi stepped up to the spot to score the winner in the 85th minute. Viktoria Plzen' fresh legs and six-day long preparation will no doubt be a very difficult test for Russell Martin and his Rangers team as they aim to make it to the Champions League play-off round. 3 Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page
