Golden Spike Commences 2025 Exploration Program at Gregory River

Yahoo08-07-2025
Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - July 8, 2025) - Golden Spike Resources Corp. (CSE: GLDS) (OTCQB: GSPRF) (FSE: L5Y) ("Golden Spike" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the launch of its 2025 summer exploration program on its 100%-owned Gregory River Copper-Gold Property ("the Property"), located in western Newfoundland. Initial work has commenced and is focusing on trail repairs to ensure safe and efficient access to key zones, followed by an approximately 500-meter Winkie drill program and regional soil sampling and prospecting. The drilling will concentrate in the northern part of the Property and test several trail-accessible volcanogenic massive sulphide ("VMS") and vein-style copper-gold targets, including the northeast part of Lode 9, Lower Mitchell, Court A and Vein Zone West (Figure 1).
"This is a very exciting time for Golden Spike as we begin our 2025 exploration season," said Keith Anderson, President and CEO. "With trail work underway and the winkie drill mobilizing shortly, we are eager to advance our understanding of several high-potential VMS and vein-style copper-gold targets. The Gregory River Property continues to show excellent promise, and this summer's work will play a key role in unlocking its full value."
The trail repairs and drilling will be completed by Majors Contracting Ltd. using a UTV-mounted winkie drill rig producing AQ diameter core (27 mm). Several shallow drill holes, each averaging about 50 meters in drilled depth will be completed at each target area and are designed as a prospecting tool to explore near-surface prospects and anomalies. Any significant results will be followed up with a larger diamond drill rig, capable of deeper holes and larger diameter core during future exploration phases. The winkie drilling is expecting to be completed over a several week program during July with analytical results completed near the end of the summer.
Drill Targets
Lode 9 - Northeast
Located in the northeast corner of the Lode 9 target area is a high priority, north-trending IP/resistivity ("IP") anomaly that was revealed during the 2024 exploration program (refer to press release dated October 17, 2024 "Golden Spike Announces IP Survey Results from Gregory River"). Even though the IP anomaly was scheduled to be drilled during the 2024 drilling program, the hole was postponed due to weather constraints. The area of the anomaly is covered with overburden and is close to the interpreted basalt-gabbro contact, a prime location for VMS mineralization in this district. In addition, the IP anomaly is adjacent to both >100 ppm copper and >100 ppm zinc historical soil anomalies collected by Noranda in 1991 (Sparkes, K, December 1991, First year assessment report on Geological, Geochemical, Geophysical and Diamond Drilling Exploration for Licence 4026 on Claim Blocks 7053, 7057 and 7059 for 1991 Submission for Fee Simple Grant Volume 2 Folio 31 in the Camp Brook, Mitchell Brook and Gregory River Areas, Newfoundland. Assessment File 12G/08/0098). The Company has not been able to validate the results of Noranda's historical soil sampling in this area, however it should be noted that Noranda was a very large, reputable company that would have had sampling and quality control processes in place that were considered industry standard for the time and the QP feels that it is reasonable to report these results as historical as they provide a useful guide for future exploration.

Lower Mitchell
The Lower Mitchell prospect is an east-to north-east trending, structurally controlled zone, hosted within intensely silicified basalt, and mineralized with pyrite, chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite and traces of sphalerite. The mineralization is exposed in several outcrops over a length of approximately 180 metres and has never been drilled. The Company collected numerous channel chip, grab and float samples in 2022, all returning anomalous copper and gold values, along with minor amounts of zinc, arsenic and occasional cobalt. Included in the sampling was Channel Line 2, which returned 2.73% copper, 0.14 g/t gold and 0.34% zinc over 5 metres, including 12.9% copper, 0.23 g/t gold, 11.5 g/t silver and 0.27% zinc over 1 metre (refer to press release dated December 21, 2022, "Golden Spike Announces Reconnaissance Sampling Results").
Court A
The Court A prospect is in the Vein Zone target area and occurs as a 1- to 2-metre-wide quartz-carbonate-sulphide vein exposed in the bed of a narrow creek. The vein is exposed over a length of approximately 50 metres, before it disappears below overburden. Mineralization is predominantly pyrite, chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite and minor bornite and sphalerite. Copper grades are generally very high, ranging between approximately 1% to 25% copper and averaging approximately 2% to 6% copper, along with associated gold (ranging between 0.1 g/t and 3 g/t) and anomalous values of zinc and arsenic. Most of these samples are grab samples and the reader is cautioned that grab samples, by their nature are selective samples that may not represent the underlying values. The Company believes that the upcoming Winkie drill program will provide a better understanding of the potential subsurface grades and widths of mineralization at this prospect.
Interpretations by Golden Spike suggest that the 17 historical drill holes from the 1950's that traced the structure over approximately 320 metres might not have tested the full potential width of the vein system, as drill records show only the highest-grade portion of the vein was sampled, leaving most of surrounding altered and mineralized host rock unsampled. Potential exists for wider, mineralized haloes to surround the main veins and for the discovery of new veins hidden below surface soil and till cover. The historical drill holes were completed by Cape Copper Mines Ltd. between 1951 and 1954 and are documented in the following reports: "Gillespi, C.R., 1951, Diamond Drilling Core Logs Holes 1 to 9, Gregory River Area, Unpublished Report, Geological Survey of Newfoundland, Assessment File 012G/0011"; "McKillop, J.H., 1953, Diamond Drill Logs Hole 14 to Hole 17, Gregory River Copper, West Coast Newfoundland, Unpublished Report, Geological Survey of Newfoundland, Assessment File 012G/015"; "Bichan, W J, Rogers, J C and McKillop, J, 1954. Report on geological and diamond drilling exploration on Reid Lots and claims 3712-3715 in the Gregory River area, western Newfoundland. Assessment File 12G/08/0126, 1954".
None of the historical core from Court A has been kept and the Qualified Person ("QP") is not able to validate any of the historical drill results. However, recent surface sampling by the Company corresponds with the general grades reported from these drill holes and the QP feels that it is reasonable to report these drill holes as historical as they provide a useful guide for future exploration. It should be noted that gold and other elements were not analysed for these historical drill holes, but these will be analysed in the upcoming program.
Vein Zone West
The Vein Zone West area is defined by a series of east-northeast trending >150 ppm copper soil anomalies, with individual sample grades as high as 1,080 ppm copper. The soil anomalies can be traced over a length of 1,500 m and widths generally average between 50 and 100 metres (refer to press release dated October 29, 2024, "Golden Spike Announces Start of Drilling, and Rock and Soil Sampling Results from Gregory River"). This area is completely covered by a thin veneer of soil and till and has never been drill-tested.
In addition to the winkie drilling, Golden Spike will also initiate a detailed soil sampling and prospecting program across key prospective areas of the property to refine drill targeting and evaluate potential extensions to known mineralized zones. In total, approximately 700 samples will be collected by the Company over the areas north and south of the Steep Brook Target, as well as the area to the east of the main Vein Zone showings.
The upcoming drill and soil sampling programs are designed to build upon previous surface and geophysical work, targeting structurally controlled mineralization and geochemical anomalies identified in earlier campaigns. Golden Spike remains committed to responsible exploration practices and continues to work collaboratively with local communities and stakeholders throughout the region.

Carney to brief premiers on U.S. trade discussions as Trump deadline bears down

OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney will be offering his update on trade talks with the White House when he sits down with the premiers Tuesday, while discussing their concerns as an Aug. 1 deadline for more tariffs rapidly approaches. Carney is joining the provincial and territorial premiers during their summer gathering in Muskoka, Ont. Carney is expected to offer an opening statement, but most of the meeting on Tuesday is set to happen behind closed doors. On Monday, Quebec Premier François Legault said he will tell Carney he wants protection in negotiations for supply management for the dairy, egg and poultry sectors, as well as the exemption for Quebec's cultural industries from free-trade requirements. British Columbia Premier David Eby has said he hoped Carney would kick off trade discussions by trying resolve the softwood lumber issue, which has been a trade irritant between Canada and the U.S. for decades. Carney recently said he thought it unlikely that there wouldn't be at least some tariffs in any deal struck before Aug. 1, though most of Canada's trade with the U.S. is protected by the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA( that exempts most of the goods and services crossing the border. So far, Trump has imposed tariffs of 50 per cent on steel and aluminum; 25 per cent tariffs on goods, automobiles and automobile parts not covered by the CUSMA trade deal; and 10 per cent tariffs on energy. He is now threatening to impose a 35 per cent blanket tariff on Aug. 1 Canada has so far retaliated with counter tariffs on billions of dollars worth of American exports, but Carney is holding off on further measures pending the result of ongoing negotiations by the end of the month. Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe said he has 'never been a big proponent of increasing countertariffs' and would rather try to find a way to get the White House to renew CUSMA, which is due to begin its mandated review in 2026. Moe also signalled he is prepared to live with some level of tariffs for the time being. 'We won't get to zero on each and every topic. The goal is to get as close as zero on as many items that we possibly can. I know that's the prime minister's goal as well,' he said. Whatever the outcome of the deal is — tariffs or no tariffs — Legault said he will ask Carney to make sure there is a specific time frame to add more certainty for businesses. Speaking in Hamilton, Ont. last week, Carney said his team was 'in the midst of long now and tough negotiations with the United States, and… working for the best deal for Canada.' 'Part of the reason why we don't have a deal is that deal is not yet on the table,' he said. Star Copper Expands Existing Footprint of Star Project and Confirms Broad Mineralized System

VANCOUVER, BC / / July 22, 2025 / Star Copper Corp. (CSE:STCU)(OTCQX:STCUF)(FWB:SOP) ("Star Copper" or the "Company"), a critical minerals exploration and development company announced today that concurrent to its summer drill program it has successfully completed an important field program at the Copper Creek target area located within the Company's wholly owned Star Project in northwestern British Columbia's golden triangle. In addition to the Star Main discovery, historical exploration now confirmed by the Company, has identified at least four additional "fingers" surrounding the Star Main discovery that may each hold significant and complementary discoveries of their own. If successful, the current campaign could prove the entire Star Project as an expansive, mineralized system and deposit. Located approximately two kilometers (2km) to the southeast of the current drilling campaign, Copper Creek's geological setting, structural complexity, and documented copper grades suggest it may represent a southeastern extension of a broad mineralized system that extends from the Main Zone. Copper Creek holds potential to evolve into a satellite or connecting zone within a larger, continuous copper-bearing trend across the property. The fully funded campaign currently underway is focused on expanding the existing deposit at the Star Project by exploring the historically identified and known mineralization events at Star Main, Copper Creek, Star North, Star East and additional related target locations (See Figure 1). Figure 1- Star Project target areas. Star Copper 2025 Highlights The Copper Creek target was the initial (1937) discovery on the property. Centered on an impressive gossan in the walls of Copper Creek characterized by extensive malachite and azurite staining. Copper and gold soil anomalies cover the target location over a 1000m x 550m area. Geophysical anomalies have been discovered and are still open to the north, south and east. Six historical drill holes, with incomplete drill logs, include significant copper and minor precious metal values. An example intercept from the early drilling at Copper Creek includes 43.58m @ 0.49% Cu from 8.53 to 52.12m in DDH G-2-70. (341104 mE, 6456326mN UTM 9N, 000/-80 - Property File 800226) Recent field work has validated historical exploration records and establishes a reliable geospatial foundation for future exploration. Copper Creek is a historically explored copper prospect first identified in the 1930s, with significant exploration conducted in the 1970s by Skyline Explorations and United Cambridge Mines. Historical drilling intersected compelling copper and gold mineralization, including 35.5 metres grading 0.485% copper in hole G-2 and localized gold values of up to 4.5 g/t over 1.37 metres (G-2-70, 8.54 - 9.91m). Mineralization is characterized by disseminated and fracture-controlled chalcopyrite and pyrite hosted in brecciated volcanic rocks and skarn zones, spatially associated with intense chlorite-epidote alteration. Star Copper recently executed a field program at Copper Creek which was led by two geologists and one field assistant. The objectives of the program were to verify the locations of historical drill collars (holes G-1 through G-6), conduct detailed geological mapping, and collect representative rock samples. The team successfully located all historical collar sites, confirmed by the presence of vintage drill equipment, and collected 13 rock samples from mineralized outcrops and altered zones (See Figure 2). These findings validate historical exploration records and establish a reliable geospatial foundation for future exploration. Figure 2 - Copper Creek rock sample. Star Copper 2025 "We are very encouraged by the results of this recent field work, which confirm historical copper mineralization and provides important geological context for ongoing targeting," said Darryl Jones, CEO of Star Copper. "With Copper Creek located just two kilometres southeast of our current drilling operations at the Main Zone, we see strong potential for this target to evolve into a complementary satellite zone or becoming part of a larger, continuous mineralized system." Copper Creek's favorable geological setting, structural complexity, and proximity to current exploration activities make it a high-priority target for future work. The Company believes that Copper Creek may represent the southeastern extent of a broader mineralized trend that extends northwest toward and the Main Zone, offering significant upside for resource expansion (See Figure 3). Thor Explorations Announces Maiden Drill Results at the Guitry Project in Côte d'Ivoire

Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - July 22, 2025) - Thor Explorations Ltd (TSXV: THX) (AIM: THX) ("Thor" or the "Company") is pleased to announce initial drilling results from its maiden drilling campaign at its 100% owned Guitry Gold Project ("Guitry") in Côte d'Ivoire. During May and June 2025, Thor completed an initial 3,000 metre ("m") reverse circulation ("RC") drilling program at Guitry and has received initial assay results from the program. The objective of the program was to gain a better understanding of both the geometry and geological controls on gold mineralisation based on a new interpretation of the historic drilling results obtained by Endeavour Mining, the historical owner of the asset. The assay results received to date from this drilling program include the following highlights: Drillhole GURC25-208 - 14m at 2.59 grammes per tonne ("g/t") of gold ("Au") from surface Drillhole GURC25-209 - 4m at 6.87 g/tAu from 38m Drillhole GURC25-212 - 5m at 7.48 g/tAu from 5m Drillhole GURC25-214 - 10m at 10.36g/t Au from 57m Drillhole GURC25-216 - 7m at 3.93 g/tAu from 7m Drillhole GURC25-219 - 3m at 14.50 g/tAu from 82m Drillhole GURC25-221 - 13m at 3.46/t Au from 114m Drillhole GURC25-227 - 7m at 7.71 g/tAu from 77m Drillhole GURC25-228 - 5m at 12.65 g/tAu from 69m Drillhole GURC25-229 - 17m at 2.16 g/tAu from surface Further exploration at the Krakouadiokro Prospect will include both infill and step-out drilling. Additionally, drilling will commence on numerous geochemical anomalies at both the Krakouadiokro and Gbaloukro Prospects, many of which remain untested or only partially tested. Segun Lawson, President & CEO, stated: "We are extremely pleased to report our first drilling results from Côte d'Ivoire. Guitry is an advanced exploration project which, when acquired, was characterised by numerous gold-in-soil geochemical anomalies that had only been partially drill tested with shallow drilling by the previous explorers. Our initial drilling program was designed based on our new interpretation, suggesting a different orientation of a number of parallel mineralised lodes. "We are particularly encouraged that the drilling confirmed our new interpretation of the orientation of these mineralised lodes which remain open. We also successfully intersected previously untested deeper bedrock mineralisation which also remains open at depth. "This is a great start to our drilling activities in Côte d'Ivoire. The Guitry Project has scope to grow from here and we continue to target our maiden resource in the country by the end of this year. "We look forward to receiving the remaining assay results and are excited to return later this quarter following the rainy season to continue the next phase of drilling and also to kick off our maiden drilling program on our Marahui Project where we have been advancing exploration through the course of the year. "As a country, Cote D'Ivoire is a West African gold mining and exploration success story that hosts over 30% of West Africa's greenstone belts and is proving to be an emerging region for world class gold discoveries. We are pleased with our low-cost entry into the country and believe these two permits provide an excellent platform from which to grow our activities in the country." Introduction The Guitry Project was acquired by Thor from Endeavour Mining Corporation ("Endeavour") during 2024 for a total consideration of US$100,000 in cash and a 2% Net Smelter Royalty. The Project is located 220 kilometres ("km") due west from Abidjan and covers 295 square kilometres ("km2") of prospective Tehini (Birimian) Greenstone Belt comprising a north-easterly trending sequence of greywacke sediments and volcano-sedimentary schists and andesite with later granitic intrusive located to the north. The Tehini Greenstone Belt extends northwards into Burkina Faso where it hosts large gold deposits such as Hounde (5.2Moz) and Mana (2.3Moz). Early-stage exploration at Guitry completed by Endeavour Mining includes 7,672 soil samples and over 11,000m of drilling (Figure 1). Figure 1: Guitry Gold Project Location Map To view an enhanced version of this graphic, please visit: Two main prospects were defined by soil geochemistry: Krakouadiokro and Gbaloukro. A broad gold in soil anomaly extends over a 8.5km north easterly trending zone with a continuous 5km long anomaly at Krakouadiokro (Figure 2). Follow up drilling at Krakouadiokro produced several significant drill intersections from relatively small area of drilling including. However, insufficient information was obtained regarding the geometry and extents of the primary gold mineralisation. Mineralisation appears to be open along strike to the southwest and northeast and down dip at the two main prospects. Figure 2: Guitry Soil Geochemical Map To view an enhanced version of this graphic, please visit: Drilling Results Historically, most of the drilling intersected gold mineralisation in a near-surface flat-lying supergene horizon. Only limited drilling of the primary mineralisation at Krakouadiokro was carried out. The current program was designed based on a new interpretation of the orientation of what is understood to be several parallel mineralised lodes. Since May 2025, Thor completed an initial RC drilling program of approximately 3,000 metres with the results for the initial holes received. All holes were oriented at an azimuth of 225o at a dip of 55 o. Industry standard QAQC protocols were followed, and drill samples were collected, stored and transported under secured conditions. Drill samples were analysed by SGS Laboratories in Yamoussoukro using the FAA505 fire assay method (50-gram charge). The significant intersections from this program are listed in Table 1. The current drilling area is located on the crest of a laterite-capped hill which overlies a north-east striking sequence of pelitic sedimentary (greywacke) rocks. These rocks are strongly weathered to a depth of about 30m from surface before transitioning into fresh bedrock. Primary gold mineralisation is developed within moderately to steep north-dipping zones in the south-west part of the drilling area. Towards the north-east the mineralised zones appear to be sub-vertical (Figure 4). In the Southern Zone intersections such as 7m at 7.71 g/tAu in GURC25-227 and 5m at 12.65 g/tAu in GURC25-228 indicate that grades appear to increase at depth with most of the grades exceeding 5g/tAu being located in the fresh bedrock (Figure 4). This moderate to steep dipping lode attains an average true thickness of 9m which at these elevated gold grades forms an attractive open pit and underground target. Figure 4: Guitry Cross Sections To view an enhanced version of this graphic, please visit: In the Central Zone where assays are still pending, further drilling will be required to fully define the mineralisation. However, drillhole GURC25-221, which ended in grade, suggests the development of another lode. Assays are pending for several other holes including GURC25-232 and GURC25-233 which targeted this zone further to the east. The Northern Zone is characterised by several narrow mineralised structures including 3m grading 14.50g/tAu which was intersected in drillhole GURC25-219 (Figure 4). Further drilling is planned to obtain a better understanding of the geometry of the mineralisation in this area. Next Steps At the Krakouadiokro Prospect further systematic resource drilling is warranted. This drilling would comprise both infill and step-out drilling. Drilling of the numerous geochemical anomalies at both the Krakouadiokro and Gbaloukro Prospects that have, to date, been either untested or partially tested. Generative geochemical surveys along the north-east and to the south-west strike extents of the Krakouadiokro and Gbaloukro Prospects. These areas, which total approximately 10km of prospective strike, have either been partially sampled on 800m spaced lines or not sampled at all.
