National French Fries Day is more than a food holiday, it's a delicious reminder of how a simple potato can be turned into crispy, golden joy in a thousand different ways
Few foods have achieved cult status like French fries. They're comforting, nostalgic, crispy, and endlessly adaptable making them a beloved indulgence across the world. And on National French Fries Day, the humble fry gets the celebration it truly deserves. Whether you're a purist who loves a good salted fry or an adventurous eater chasing new flavours, there's something on the table for everyone.
This year, India's most exciting food brands are taking fries to new heights from Korean spice blends to cheesy drizzles and truffle oil-laced indulgence. Here's how some of your favourite restaurants are making sure your fry-day is worth every crunchy bite.
For decades, McDonald's has been the gold standard of fries and for good reason. As McDonald's India (W&S) puts it, their World Famous crispy, golden Fries provide the perfect canvas for flavour innovation. While their classic salted version remains a forever favourite, the brand has boldly reimagined the fries experience with unique twists.
Piri Piri Fries come with a tangy, spicy flavour mix and are served in the popular Shake Shake bag, letting you coat your fries your way.
Mexican Cheesy Fries layer in cheesy richness with just a touch of spice — ideal for those who love a creamy, indulgent experience.
For heat seekers, the Korean Spice Mix adds a bold, spicy spark that elevates their iconic fries into a whole new flavour territory.
McDonald's proves that even the classics can evolve with just the right mix of innovation and nostalgia.
While the brands push flavour boundaries, Chef Mukesh Samant, Rude Lounge brings us back to the roots of what makes fries truly great.'Fries are simple, nostalgic, and hard to resist. For me, it's all about that crunch. I go with a double fry method to get them crispy on the outside and soft inside," he says.
His seasoning go-tos? A dash of garlic powder or smoked paprika. And as for dips, sriracha mayo or truffle aioli is where the magic happens.
It's a reminder that while fries can go gourmet, their soulful simplicity is still their most delicious quality.
Boom Burger: Big, Bold & BOOM-Worthy
Why go plain when you can go BOOM? That's the motto at Boom Burger, and this French Fries Day, they're bringing an explosive celebration of flavours to your plate.
Signature Boom Fries are anything but basic — tossed in a powerhouse mix of Togarashi, Parmesan, Lemon Zest, and Garlic Salt, and served with their creamy Boom sauce. The result? A tangy, cheesy, spicy, and zesty flavour party in every bite.
If you're feeling fancy, the Truffle Fries offer a rich, indulgent experience. Hand-cut fries are coated in aromatic truffle oil, sprinkled with sea salt, and finished with a Parmesan snow — luxury in every crisp.
With prices starting at ₹199, Boom Burger invites you to skip the safe and go straight for the sensational.
Burgrill: Where Every Fry Has a Story
Burgrill isn't just offering fries — they're curating an entire menu of flavour-forward experiences. Each fry variant is designed with distinct personality, heat levels, and sauce pairings, making them perfect for every palate.
African Peri Peri Fries are a fiery blend of chilli mayo and cheese sauce, slathered over crispy crinkle-cut fries. The heat hits just right, while the creamy cheese brings balance.
Portuguese Fries keep it simple but bold — with a signature in-house peri peri rub that clings to every groove for a smoky, spicy snack.
Smoky BBQ Fries deliver a tangy-sweet barbecue experience, complete with melty cheese drizzle — comfort food at its finest.
And just in time for Fry-day celebrations, Burgrill is teasing a new Korean Fire Range:
Korean Fire Fries are tossed in fiery Korean sauce, with a cooling ranch drizzle and a sprinkle of black & white sesame seeds. Bold, umami-packed, and addictive.
Chicken Korean Fire Fries take things up a notch — adding crispy chicken slices on top of the fries, drenched in heat and mellowed with ranch. It's not just a snack — it's a full-on meal.
With prices from ₹109 and available on Swiggy & Zomato, Burgrill's lineup is a love letter to all things crunchy, cheesy, and spicy.
Fry-thoughts
National French Fries Day is more than a food holiday, it's a delicious reminder of how a simple potato can be turned into crispy, golden joy in a thousand different ways. Whether you're shaking up your fries at McDonald's, going bold with Boom Burger, exploring the saucy depths at Burgrill, or just frying them up at home like Chef Mukesh, one thing is clear:

Fireworks, warplanes, axes: How France celebrates Bastille Day

Swooping warplanes , axe-carrying warriors, a drone light show over the Eiffel Tower and fireworks in nearly every French town - it must be Bastille Day . France is celebrating its biggest holiday Monday with 7,000 people marching, on horseback or riding armoured vehicles along the cobblestones of the Champs-Elysees, the most iconic avenue in Paris. And there are plans for partying and pageantry around the country. Why Bastille Day is a big deal? Parisians stormed the Bastille fortress and prison on July 14, 1789, a spark for the French Revolution that overthrew the monarchy. In the ensuing two centuries, France saw Napoleon's empire rise and fall, more uprisings and two world wars before settling into today's Fifth Republic, established in 1958. Bastille Day has become a central moment for modern France, celebrating democratic freedoms and national pride, a melange of revolutionary spirit and military prowess. The Paris parade beneath the Arc de Triomphe so impressed visiting US President Donald Trump in 2017 that it inspired him to stage his own parade this year. Live Events What to watch for? The spectacle begins on the ground, with French President Emmanuel Macron reviewing the troops and relighting the eternal flame beneath the Arc de Triomphe. Each parade uniform has a touch of symbolism. The contingent from the French Foreign Legion is eye-catching, its bearded troops wearing leather aprons and carrying axes , a reference to their original role as route clearers for advancing armies. The Paris event includes flyovers by fighter jets, trailing red, white and blue smoke. Then the evening sees a drone light show and fireworks at the Eiffel Tower that has gotten more elaborate every year. What's special about this year? Every year, France hosts a special guest for Bastille Day, and this year it's Indonesia, with President Prabowo Subianto representing the world's biggest Muslim country, which also a major Asian economic and military player. Indonesian troops, including 200 drummers, are marching in Monday's parade, and Indonesia is expected to confirm new purchases of Rafale fighter jets and other French military equipment during the visit. Prabowo, who was accused of rights abuses under Indonesia's prior dictatorship, will be treated to a special holiday dinner at the Elysee Palace. Finnish troops serving in the UN force in Lebanon and Belgian and Luxembourg troops serving in a NATO force in Romania will also parade through Paris, reflecting the increasingly international nature of the event. Among the dignitaries invited to watch will be Fousseynou Samba Cisse, who rescued two babies from a burning apartment earlier this month and received a last-minute invitation in a phone call from Macron himself. What's the geopolitical backdrop? Beyond the military spectacle in Paris are growing concerns about an uncertain world. On the eve Bastille Day, Macron announced 6.5 billion euros (USD 7.6 billion) in extra French military spending in the next two years because of new threats ranging from Russia to terrorism and online attacks. The French leader called for intensified efforts to protect Europe and support for Ukraine. "Since 1945, our freedom has never been so threatened, and never so seriously," Macron said. "We are experiencing a return to the fact of a nuclear threat, and a proliferation of major conflicts." What else happens on Bastille Day? It's a period when France bestows special awards - including the most prestigious, the Legion of Honour - on notable people. This year's recipients include Gisele Pelicot, who became a global hero to victims of sexual violence during a four-month trial in which her husband and dozens of men were convicted of sexually assaulting her while she was drugged unconscious. Bastille Day is also a time for family gatherings, firefighters' balls and rural festivals around France.

Are ALLDAY PROJECT's Bailey and Tarzzan dating? Viral post highlights their ‘amazing chemistry' but fans remain divided

Rookie co-ed idol group ALLDAY PROJECT has been gaining traction for their talent and unique concept. But this time, it's not their performances making headlines. Members Bailey and Tarzzan have unintentionally found themselves at the center of dating speculation. It's all thanks to a now-viral post on an online forum that's sent netizens into a frenzy. The post, which has surpassed 100,000 views on Pann, dives into the duo's recent off-stage interactions. It fuels fan theories that their relationship might be more than just professional. Post details Bailey and Tarzzan's moments The original Pann user began their post with a disclaimer: 'Of course they're not dating, and they shouldn't. I'm just being delusional for fun. If they ever were going to date, it should be after disbanding…' But what followed was a detailed list of suspiciously sweet moments between the two idols. The post detailed how Tarzzan accompanied Bailey to a late-night solo music video shoot in freezing weather. They're also often seen seated next to each other during schedules, even in waiting rooms. These repeated moments have led the poster to believe their bond goes beyond typical groupmate interactions. 'Their chemistry is amazing… I just really want them to be real. He probably looks out for her more because her Korean isn't fluent yet,' the fan wrote, attempting to balance their excitement with a bit of realism. Bailey and Tarzzan's chemistry sparks split reactions among fans Following the post, discussions quickly spread across various Korean forums and social platforms. Some fans admitted they couldn't help but "ship" the two idols, praising their natural chemistry and sweet interactions. Others were more cautious. They warn that dating within a group, especially a co-ed rookie group, could lead to internal conflict or public backlash. Many expressed support for their bond while emphasizing the importance of maintaining professionalism during the early phase of their careers. Still, the 'will-they-won't-they' energy between Bailey and Tarzzan has clearly caught fans' attention. ALLDAY PROJECT's agency has yet to respond As of now, ALLDAY PROJECT's management, THE BLACK LABEL, has not issued any statement regarding the rumors. The speculation is largely based on fan observations, with no concrete evidence having emerged so far. As a result, it remains to be seen whether the agency will address the topic at all.

Is BTS' V and BLACKPINK's Jennie's Paris date rumor spreader striking again?, fans criticize 'sasaeng behavior'

V and Jennie have been embroiled in dating rumors for quite some years now. The duo often made headlines for alleged lovestagram and couple item evidence. In 2022, they created a stir on social media after a Paris-based photographer claimed to have witnessed them holding hands and enjoying a quiet date. Even after facing immense backlash back then, the individual might be back at it. BTS' V and Jennie's alleged Paris date photo leaker hints at exposing them again The alleged date pictures leaker of the artists is a Paris-based photographer named Amar Taoualit. Back in 2022, he shared some low-quality images of two individuals holding hands and walking on the streets of the French capital, claiming them to be V and Jennie. It generated immense buzz online, resulting in massive backlash for the K-pop idols. Their fandom ARMY and BLINK broke into a fan war, and their agencies tried to control the situation with neutral stances on their dating speculations. Recently, Amar Taoualit shared glimpses of the BTS member from his 2025 Paris visit. V was in the city a few days ago to attend the Celine show of Paris Fashion Week. It seemed like normal paparazzi content, until a comment caught fans' eyes. A fan wrote "please catch him with Jennie again", to which he replied, "We try to work on it next time don't worry." It didn't sit right with fans, who accused him of trying to invade their privacy once again. Fans criticize photographer for probing to expose V and Jennie again The 2022 Paris photo leaker's latest remark on being open to expose the K-pop stars once again if gotten a chance, received backlash from fans. They claimed it to be "sasaeng [obsessive fan] behaviour" and believed he should be punished for the same. According to them, it was an open announcement of future attempts to invade public figures' privacy. They wanted him to get sued for such a disrespectful remark. Some fans even shared a Google doc titled "V stalking report" and asked all fans to fill it. They also intend to mail BTS' agency HYBE LABELS, asking them to take swift action against the photographer and protect their artist from stalkers.
