Leaked Marvel Doomsday images show The Avengers finally coming together with The Fantastic Four
The images have left the fans in a frenzy, with all of them coming up with their own crazy theories of what the image might mean. In the frame, the fans can see The Thing from Fantastic Four and US Agent from Thunderbolts* and The Falcon in the same frame and in full costume. The duo seem to be standing inside of a control room, and the windows surrounding them suggest that it might be the cockpit of a spaceship. Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who plays the Thing, is wearing his suit, which is later rendered into the actual superhero, and Wyatt Russel, who plays the Agent, is also wearing his suit. The actor can be seen examining the control panel of what could be the Fantastic Four ship that was seen in the post-credits scene of the Thunderbolts*.

As the panel looks very retro in design, many fans are also speculating whether it is a shot of the TVA office and somehow a group of superheroes have found their way to the place that controls it all. Earlier leaks, which were never confirmed, by the way, showed what looked like the fictional island nation of Madripoor. A fan posted several short videos while trespassing through the supposed set of the film, and even though some fans were cynical about the validity of the videos, most were excited to get a glimpse of what lies ahead.
Thunderbolts* received a positive reaction from audiences and critics, but Marvel is yet to imitate its success from the glory days. With their web series failing to leave a mark, all eyes will be on their next release, The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The studio will be hoping for a more than positive reaction as James Gunn's Superman is also hitting the theatres this week, and a failure at this point could lead to Marvel being dethroned.
Avengers: Doomsday will release in 2026, while The Fantastic Four: First Steps will come out on July 25. Directed by Matt Shakman, First Steps boasts a promising cast including Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss, and Joseph Quinn.

'It was really unfair to him': James Gunn on replacing Henry Cavill in Superman film franchise
Washington DC [US], July 20 (ANI): Following the success of 'Superman', director James Gunn opened up on how he convinced Henry Cavill to sit out from the 'Superman' film franchise ahead of casting David Cornswet in the latest DC Studios' superhero project. During a recent appearance on the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast, as quoted by Variety, the "Superman" director explained that as his deal to take over DC Studios was finalised, it was announced that Cavill would reprise his role as the Man of Steel. However, according to Gunn, it was already decided that he would helm a new 'Superman' film with a new actor, which created an "unfair" situation for Cavill. "The day our [DC] deal closed, all of a sudden, they were announcing that Henry was back. And I'm like, 'What is going on?' We know what the plan is. The plan was to come in and do 'Superman.' So it was really unfair to him and a total bummer," said Gunn as quoted by Variety. Gunn added that the miscommunication was due to a sector of the studio trying to "force" their own vision of DC, which was "never part of the equation." To solve the misunderstanding, the director decided to disclose the truth to Henry Cavill by talking to him. "So, that was really unfortunate. Peter and I [thought] the right thing to do was to sit down with [Cavill] and talk to him. And we sat down and we talked to him. He was an absolute gentleman, a great guy about it. He said, 'The only thing I ask is that I'm able to reveal it myself as opposed to it coming from you guys,'" said James Gunn as quoted by Variety. Gunn also hinted at the possibility of casting Henry Cavill in future DCU movies. While Cavill starred as the Man of Steel across three DC films from 2013 to 2017, David Corenswet took over the role for Gunn's DCU debut feature 'Superman,' which released July 11. Other cast members for that film include Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner) and Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl). The film has garnered positive reviews from critics and viewers alike. (ANI)

'He was an absolute gentleman', James Gunn recalls telling Henry Cavill about the ‘Superman' recast, his reaction and more
James Gunn , the man responsible for bringing Superman's character to life, recently revealed how everything went down when the casting for the latest film was being discussed. He revealed how he had to tell Henry Cavill , who had taken on the role before David Corenswet , that it was being recast. James Gunn recalls how he had to tell Henry about the recast Gunn recently got candid about what all went down while casting for the new 'Superman' film, which has been well-received by the public ever since its release. During a new episode of the podcast 'Happy Sad Confused', Josh Horowitz recalled how the news of Henry being back for the role came on the very day that they closed the deal in his studios. At the time, there had been a lot of confusion amongst fans of the film, as after his cameo in 'Black Adam', the actor had released an official video saying, 'I wanted to make it official — I am back as Superman'. The blunder happened then, two months later, Cavill shared that he would no longer be taking on the role of the beloved superhero. James talks about Henry's reaction to the news The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' writer shared during the podcast that after finding out about Henry's return, they were shocked. He delved into how they thought it was fair to inform the actor about the news face-to-face as well. 'That was really unfortunate, I'm like, this poor guy. And so Peter [Safran] and I knew the right thing to do was to sit down with [Cavill] and talk to him. And we sat down, we talked to him, he was an absolute gentleman, a great guy about it. He said, 'The only thing I ask is that I'm able to reveal it myself as opposed to it coming from you guys'', Gunn shared. He even called the whole ordeal unfair to Cavill, and stated 'wanted to take on what they wanted to do at DC and were trying to force their way, and it just was never a part of the equation'. Will Henry Cavill return to the world of superheroes? While fans of Cavill were disappointed to see him no longer be the beloved 'Superman', there is still a possibility that the actor might make his return to the multiverse! During the podcast, the host asked about how everything would be if Henry were cast in another role. Gunn replied with enthusiasm, saying, 'No, as another character? Absolutely not. I talked to him about it on that day. I would love to put Henry in something'.

Fantastic Four first reactions say Marvel dials down the noise, turns up the heart in cosmic reboot: ‘Emotional punch'
Marvel hosted a special screening of Fantastic Four: First Steps five days ahead of its global release, and if early reactions are any clue, this might be the comeback the company has been been dying for. The film already had eyeballs thanks to its crossover with Avengers: Doomsday, but even as a standalone, it's holding its ground. From visuals to casting, critics are raving about the reboot's bold direction, picture perfect casting, stunning visuals, and a surprisingly strong emotional core. Here's what critics are saying online. Marvel's first family has elicited a strong response from critics, something that might just reignite that old spark fans had for the MCU. If it hits big with audiences and pulls off a box office win, this could mark Marvel's second comeback moment this year, right after Thunderbolts* revived the modern MCU era. The first press screening drew comparisons to Interstellar and Guardians of the Galaxy in terms of feels and ambition to have a new installment. Fans decode his cryptic Robert Downey Jr comment The movie stars stretchy Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal), invisible woman Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby), human torch Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn), and rock monster Ben Grimm, aka the Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach). Critics are calling it a 'visual feast,' with Brandon Davis praising the film's 'immaculate' effects, especially in scenes featuring Silver Surfer and Galactus. Davis added, 'Fantastic Four: First Steps gets a lot right — it looks and feels like a top-tier Marvel film again.' Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby are garnering praise for their electrifying chemistry that's actually worth the hype. So far, not many are finding much to complain about. People's Sharareh Drury called Kirby 'a shooting star,' praising her command over the role and how she stands out even in a team full of scene-stealers. Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach also received strong reactions, with their excellent comic timing and emotional beats striking a chord with the audience. Julia Garner's version of Silver Surfer has apparently brought the character to life, in a way that's 'haunting, powerful, and unforgettable.' Also read: Who is 'world eater' Galactus and the female silver surfer Shalla Bal who feature in the trailer of The Fantastic Four First Steps About the action set-pieces, critics say while it's not extravagant, it's polished and fits into the film's stunning cosmic sequences. But the aspect making Fantastic Four such a film to discuss doesn't even lie with the action, it's about the emotions that exceeded expectations. Multiple early viewers pointed out that the film doesn't just build a universe, it gives the characters room to breathe, connect, and grow. George Mckay: 'Fantastic Four Quite possibly the best Marvel Studios film ever released. Absolutely loaded with talent and standout performances from Vanessa Kirby and Joseph Quinn. If you thought the MCU died with Endgame, think again. Thoughtfully crafted and easily a genre-defining classic.' Brian Long Films: 'I came in tempered but #FantasticFour is truly a return to form for the MCU, the opening minutes blew my socks off in IMAX. Gardner's & Quinn's work stood out to me the most. Galactus gives this film real stakes and his presence is felt even off screen, incredible miniature work!' Next Best Picture editor-in-chief Matt Neglia: 'Combined with Matt Shakman's snappy, confident storytelling, this is an intriguing & satisfying first step for Marvel's new team (easily the best depiction of this quartet on-screen to date) as the MCU continues to regain control of the ship & steer it closer to 'Doomsday.'' In a behind-the-scenes reveal, Shakman confirmed that John Malkovich was originally cast as Red Ghost, but his scenes were cut. 'It broke my heart,' he admitted, but said the decision was necessary to maintain focus on the core story. As Marvel prepares for Phase 6, Fantastic Four: First Step's box office will reveal whether the Superhero movie still stands a chance. So far, its a bold reset that may have finally put Marvel back on track. Fantastic Four: First Steps releases on July 25.
