India Gazette2 days ago
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], July 5 (ANI): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Civil Aviation Conference-2025 organised in Dehradun on Friday.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu and Civil Aviation Ministers of North India also attended the conference.
Chief Minister said that this conference is a testimony to the historic progress made in the civil aviation sector of the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said that by connecting small cities and remote areas with air connectivity through the Udan scheme, not only has air travel become accessible to the common citizens, but the local economy has also been strengthened.
The Chief Minister said that currently 18 heliports are being developed in Uttarakhand, out of which services have started at 12.
He said that heli services have become not only a means of transport in hilly states like Uttarakhand, but have also become a lifeline. 'Be it disaster management, health services or pilgrimage, helicopter services have provided unprecedented convenience in these areas'.
Chief Minister Dhami urged the Union Civil Aviation Ministry to formulate a separate 'Mountain Aviation Policy' for mountain states, which should include provisions such as special financial assistance, subsidy for operations, suitable ATC network for mountain areas, accurate weather forecast, slotting and pre-disaster preparation.
The Chief Minister also requested all operators to provide special pilot training for mountain flights, strict adherence to safety standards and ensure the safety of passengers.
Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu announced that the government is working on a plan towards the expansion of airports and helipads in hilly areas of the country.
Naidu stated that under the Regional Connectivity Scheme, several airports from Jammu and Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh are being built.
'We already have a plan for the expansion of heliports in hilly states. Under our Regional Connectivity Scheme, several airports from J&K to Arunachal Pradesh are being built', Ram Mohan Naidu told reporters in Dehradun.
The Union Minister stated that there are 18 heliports in Uttarakhand, and as far as safety is concerned, the weather conditions and geographical terrains pose difficulties in the operations of helicopters. (ANI)

He said he would defend his religion if attacked, as he is a Hindu and supports Hindutva. He said he has no problem with any religion, including Islam and Christianity, but is concerned about Hindus who create divisions based on caste. Addressing the people at Sanatan Mahakumbh, Dhirendra Shastri said, "My only dream is Bhagwa-e-Hind. If my religion is attacked, I will retaliate, as I am Hindu and I talk only about Hindutva. I have no problem with any religion, be it Muslims or Christians, but we have issues with those Hindus who divide us on caste,' ANI quoted. He also clarified that he is not in Bihar for the elections. 'I will do a pad yatra in Bihar post legislative elections for those who think that I am here for any party or election. Maharashtra minister compares assaults on non-Marathi speakers in state to Pahalgam terror attack

Maharashtra minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Ashish Shelar on Sunday drew a parallel between the recent attacks on non-Marathi speakers in the state and the terror attack in Jammu Kashmir's Pahalgam which left 26 persons dead. He said that in both incidents, Hindus were targeted. 'In Pahalgam, people were killed because of their religion,' PTI quoted Shelar as saying at a press conference in Mumbai. 'Here in Maharashtra, Hindus are being assaulted only because of the language they speak. What's the difference?' During the attack on April 22, the terrorists at Baisaran had targeted tourists after asking their names to ascertain their religion. All but three of those killed were Hindu. Shelar's remarks came a week after seven unidentified persons, believed to be members of the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, assaulted a shopkeeper in Thane district for not speaking in Marathi. On Saturday, suspected workers of the party also vandalised the Mumbai office of entrepreneur Sushil Kedia, a day after he posted on social media that he had lived in the city for 30 years without learning Marathi 'properly'. #WATCH | Mumbai: On Marathi language row, Maharashtra Minister Ashish Shelar says, "All these incidents cause pain, suffering, and mental distress. In Pahalgam, they shot them after asking about their religion. And here they beat up the innocent Hindus just because of the… — ANI (@ANI) July 6, 2025 The incidents took place amid an escalating row in Maharashtra, triggered by the state government's move to make Hindi a 'generally' taught third language for Class 1 to Class 5 in Marathi and English medium schools. On June 29, the government withdrew the resolution following widespread backlash. Shelar added that the BJP-led government in the state would protect both Marathi pride and the rights of non-Marathi residents. The minister, without naming anyone, also said that some leaders were enjoying how 'Hindus' are being assaulted, PTI reported. 'Marathi is not a political issue for us,' the news agency quoted him as saying. The BJP leader also criticised the recent show of unity between former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and his cousin Raj Thackeray, calling it an 'opportunistic alliance'. On Saturday, the two leaders held a ' victory rally ' to celebrate the rollback of the government order on the three-language policy.
