The Tommorrowland Festival has been hit by another disasterous event, as a woman dies just days after the festival stage was engulfed by a massive fire.
The 35-year-old Canadian woman was one of some 100,000 festival attendees at the opening night of the annual electronic music festival in Belgium.
The annual event happens in the aptly named town of Boom, and its believed the woman had reported feeling unwell on the festival site, and was taken to hospital where she tragically died. Pic: Getty
The cause of her death has not yet been determined, and an investigation has been launched into the circumstances.
A spokesperson for the festival, said that the woman had 'received first aid' before later being taken to 'the University Hospital of Antwerp'. Pic:Concert Leaks/X
Festival organisers have sent their condolences to the family and friends of the woman who died.
Her death comes just days after a massive fire ripped through one of the stages on the festival site, just days before the festival was due to start, with harrowing footage showing huge smoke clouds engulfing nearby houses as fireworks went off. Pic: Shawn Hendrix/X
The inferno had almost completely destroyed the main stage, called 'Orbyz' Wednesday evening, with dramatic footage showing the moment the site exploded into a fireball, before a gigantic plume of smoke filled the air and fireworks exploded in all directions into the sky and over the roofs of nearby houses.
While the fire 'severely damaged' the main, ice-themed stage, no individuals were injured in the incident.
