Several stocks – NVIDIA NVDA, Palantir PLTR, and Amazon AMZN – continue to garner significant attention among investors, with all three ranking among the top ten most-visited stocks on Their popularity is easy to understand given their big gains that have been fueled by impressive stories over recent years. Given their popularity, let's take a closer look to see what's happening with each. NVIDIA Impresses Again We've all become highly familiar with NVIDIA's red-hot multi-year-long story, with its historical growth fueled by unrelenting demand for its Data Center products amid the AI frenzy. The tech titan continued to fire on all cylinders throughout its latest release concerning its Data Center, with sales of $39.1 billion up 73% from the $22.5 billion print in the same period last year. Below is a chart illustrating NVIDIA's Data Center sales on a quarterly basis. The stock is still one of the strongest AI plays out there, with shares also not that expensive on a historical basis. Shares currently trade at a 32.8X forward 12-month earnings multiple, a fraction of the 106.3X five-year high and well beneath the 48.4X five-year median. The current PEG ratio works out to a fair 1.1X, again well beneath five-year highs and the five-year median. Palantir Keeps Growing Palantir's latest set of quarterly results continued to impress, with sales climbing 40% year-over-year alongside an upgrade to its current-year sales outlook. Massive growth has been driven by red-hot demand that's seemingly only continuing to grow. Importantly, customer count grew nearly 40% year-over-year and 8% sequentially. Palantir also booked a record U.S. commercial total contract value throughout the period ($810 million), which grew a staggering 180% year-over-year. AMZN Sees AWS Momentum Amazon's latest set of results showed solid momentum within AWS, with sales of $29.3 billion in the segment up 17% year-over-year. Analysts have taken a bullish stance on AMZN's current fiscal year, with the current $6.22 Zacks Consensus EPS estimate up roughly 7% over the past year. Direct flight to Costa Rica incoming
Costa Rica will be a flight away from Winnipeg every week this winter. Beginning Dec. 19, WestJet will run a direct flight to the Central American country from the Manitoba capital. Service will continue every Friday until April 25, 2026. A one-way trip to Liberia, Costa Rica, for Dec. 19 started at $545, a Tuesday search elicited. The non-stop route was slated to last nearly 6 1/2 hours in the air. WestJet has never directly connected Winnipeg to Central America before. The route is part of the Alberta-based airliner's winter 2025-26 schedule. WestJet is also touting a nine per cent increase in its direct flights between Winnipeg and Cancun, Mexico — to 12 times weekly — and an 11 per cent increase between Winnipeg and Puerto Vallarta. The latter Mexican destination will be reachable from Winnipeg 10 times per week, WestJet announced. Direct flights to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta will begin Oct. 26. The pair join 21 other destinations with non-stop WestJet flights from Winnipeg this winter. WestJet has upped its sun destination flights from the Prairies city by 14 per cent, when comparing year over year, a company news release reads. The addition of a flight to Costa Rica, and expanded service to Mexico, shows WestJet's confidence in Winnipeg's market, said Winnipeg Airports Authority president Nick Hays. More than half of Canadians now see U.S. as a top threat: poll
WASHINGTON — As U.S. President Donald Trump pursues his global trade war and talk of annexation, a new poll suggests the percentage of Canadians who view the United States as a top threat has tripled since 2019. While this year's survey by the Pew Research Center suggests that 55 per cent of Canadians still say the U.S. remains this country's most important ally, it also says that 59 per cent now see the U.S. as a threat — up from 20 per cent in the 2019 poll. 'Canada sort of stands out as one place where views of the U.S. have changed significantly and substantially,' said Janell Fetterolf, a senior researcher at the centre. Pew polled people in 25 countries and the United States was cited as the most important ally in 12. It was the most commonly named threat in eight countries — including America's closest neighbours, Canada and Mexico. Canada was an early target of Trump's tariffs and taunts. He repeatedly called former prime minister Justin Trudeau 'governor' and said he wanted to make Canada a U.S. state. Trump hit Canada and Mexico with duties he linked to fentanyl trafficking in March, only to walk back the tariffs for goods that comply with the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement on trade a few days later. Both countries are also being targeted by Trump's tariffs on steel, aluminum and automobiles. The Pew Research Center said many people polled in Europe named Russia as a top threat, while China was more commonly named among those in the Asia-Pacific region. Poll respondents were more likely to name the United States as an economic threat, while Russia was more likely to be considered a threat to national security and China was commonly cited as a mix of both. But at least half of the people polled in Mexico, France and Canada who said the United States was a threat also said the U.S. posed 'a great deal of a threat' to national security. In Canada, roughly three-quarters of respondents said the U.S. poses an economic threat and 53 per cent said it poses a national security threat. Pew, a Washington-based non-partisan think tank, surveyed 28,333 adults across 24 countries — not including the United States _ from Jan. 8 to April 26 by phone, online and in person. The centre also surveyed 3,605 Americans from March 24 to March 30 by phone, online and in person. Israelis were particularly likely to name the U.S. as their country's most important ally. Israelis also stood out for their particularly positive ratings of the U.S. and its president. Most Israelis polled named Iran as the top threat. Japanese and South Koreans polled also overwhelmingly stated that the U.S. was their most important ally. Despite Canadians' increasingly negative views of the U.S., Americans remain positive about Canada. Fetterolf said Canada is one of the allies most commonly named by Americans, just behind the United Kingdom. She said a poll earlier this year suggested 74 per cent of Americans have a favourable opinion of Canada.
