NASCAR at Sonoma 2025: Start time, TV, streaming, lineup for Toyota/Save Mart 350
The New Zealander swept pole position and the race win in both the Xfinity and Cup Series races, making for a dominant weekend at NASCAR's only street course race of the season.
It was a chaotic race that saw a red flag and multiple cautions as drivers made contact with the close walls of the street course. That race also saw more surprises in the bracket for NASCAR's inaugural in-season challenge.
NASCAR In-Season Challenge: Bracket, seedings, how it works
No. 32 seed Ty Dillon continued his run of upsets with a win over No. 17 seed Brad Keselowski. There are just two top-10 seeds left in the bracket: No. 8 Alex Bowman and No. 6 Ty Gibbs.
The in-season challenge field is down to eight drivers as the Cup Series sees another non-oval on deck for this weekend: Sonoma Raceway. It's one of the longest tenured road courses on the calendar and a challenge for the grid of oval-racing regulars.
Will van Gisbergen continue his winning streak on non-ovals or will a new winner emerge from the pack? Here's everything you need to know to get ready for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway on Sunday, July 13:

Lions coach Andy Farrell isn't buying into the hype of a series sweep against Australia
Associated Press BRISBANE, Australia (AP) — The growing hype about a British and Irish Lions series sweep over Australia isn't something Andy Farrell is buying into. The Lions head coach only had to walk the streets of Brisbane and have a chance encounter with Australia and Queensland Origin rugby league legend Gorden Tallis in the days leading up to Saturday's first test to be reminded of what to expect. Tallis 'said everyone used to talk about Queensland being underdogs. He said 'We never, ever saw it that way.' Australia will be exactly the same,' said Farrell, who was captain of the British rugby league team before switching to rugby union. The Lions tour every four years to the southern hemisphere but the Wallabies only face them every 12, usually a once-in-a-career opportunity. 'If you're in a position where it comes down to this every 12 years and you get to pull the shirt on for the Wallabies and the privilege that goes with that — they'll be fighting tooth and nail," Farrell said. "I'm sure they'll want to prove a point." He wanted to embrace being heavy favorites for the series, but said there's 'no overconfidence, at all.' "It's having an inner confidence within our group that we are going to execute the plan when it matters.' Farrell was a defense coach at Ireland before taking over from Joe Schmidt as head coach there in 2020. Schmidt, a New Zealander, is now head coach of an Australia squad that is rebuilding after its worst-ever Rugby World Cup performance in 2023. They're well acquainted. 'You don't go into a series trying not to win it 3-nil — it's a natural target for them,' Schmidt said of those predictions of a Lions sweep. 'But I know Andy Farrell well enough to know he won't be talking about 3-nil. They'll be focused on this test alone, not Melbourne or Sydney I don't think.' While the Lions are unbeaten in five tour games so far in Australia, the Wallabies are coming off a scratchy 21-18 comeback win over Fiji as their only match preparation. They've also got a new halves combination and will be missing some size and power in the forward pack. 'Obviously the skill execution wasn't great against Fiji. We have to be a lot more cohesive and accurate,' Schmidt said. 'We've had one test match. We've got 15 this year.' 'We thought we'd ease our way into the year!' he added, joking about the monumental task ahead for his Wallabies. 'That's the magnitude of it, really.' Key confrontations The halves combinations will be critical to the outcome. The Lions have the advantage in the experienced and assured Scotland flyhalf Finn Russell directing play and working with Jamison Gibson-Park, one of eight Irishmen in the XV. Schmidt has entrusted the playmaking duties to 22-year-old Tom Lynagh, the son of Wallabies great Michael Lynagh. The quietly confident Lynagh is starting a test for the first time and working with Jake Gordon. The Lions will be expecting scrum dominance, and for a hard edge will be relying on a front row featuring Ireland prop Tadhg Furlong and hooker Dan Sheehan and England prop Ellis Genge. For the Wallabies, 144-test veteran James Slipper is starting in his second series against the Lions and looking for revenge. He'll be packing down with Allan Ala'alatoa, who has 81 caps, and young hooker Matt Faessler. For the first time since more than a century, there are no Welshmen in the Lions test squad. Recent series Brisbane is a city where the Lions have had success. In 1989, when Michael Lynagh was Australia's playmaker, the Wallabies won the opening match in Sydney 30-12 before the Lions rallied to take a brutal second test 19-12 in Brisbane, dubbed the 'Battle of Ballymore.' The Lions won the decider, back in Sydney, which was famous for an errant pass by Australian winger David Campese that gifted a simple try and lead to the visitors. The 2001 series opener in Brisbane felt more like a home game for the Lions, with the Gabba stadium filled with fans wearing red. That helped propel the Lions to a win over the 1999 World Cup champions. But the Australians rallied to win in Melbourne and Sydney to clinch a historic series win. Twelve years ago, on the last tour to Australia, the Lions again won in Brisbane — 23-21 — when Wallabies' goalkicker Kurtley Beale slipped and missed a last-minute penalty attempt. The Wallabies won the second test in Melbourne, when Leigh Halfpenny missed a late shot at goal that would have clinched the series for the Lions. The Lions dominated in Sydney to clinch the series. Tour so far The Lions are perfect in Australia since a 28-24 loss to Argentina in a warmup in Dublin. They had wins over Super Rugby franchises Western Force,Queensland Reds, Waratahs and Brumbies — before last Saturday's 48-0 demolition of an AUNZ invitational XV. ___ AP rugby:

2026 Subaru Uncharted First Look: Yes, That's the Name
It's a little unusual when you first notice it, but the entirety of the EVs Toyota and Subaru sell are the same vehicles. The Toyota bZ4X compact electric SUV—which for 2026 undergoes a name change to "bZ" along with welcome updates—is a Subaru Solterra with different badges and brand-specific final tuning; ditto the more dirt-road-friendly Subaru Trailseeker and the Toyota bZ Woodland. Now, Toyota's new C-HR EV is being joined by a Subaru-badged counterpart, the Uncharted. The 2026 Subaru Uncharted is a compact electric SUV developed with Toyota, sharing the C-HR's platform. It features fastback styling, offers up to 338 hp, and includes Subaru-specific touches such as X-Mode for off-roading. Standard features include heated seats and Subaru's EyeSight safety tech. This summary was generated by AI using content from this MotorTrend article Read Next As far as strategies go, this sharing of platforms is looking smarter by the day—as EV-related tax incentives fall away, automakers are looking for anything to drive scale up and costs down. The six Toyotas and Subarus listed here all use virtually identical motors, batteries, and vehicle architectures. The Trailseeker and bZ Woodland are larger than the bZ and Solterra, which are themselves slightly bigger than the C-HR and this new 2026 Subaru Uncharted. The latter pair aim for a sportier vibe with a more rakish roofline and an available dual-motor powertrain packing 338 hp. Looks More Subaru Than Toyota Though the Solterra and bZ remain twins, at least visually, and every 2026-model-year Toyota and Subaru EV gets essentially the same dashboard and 14-inch touchscreen and new hoodless digital gauge cluster, the new Uncharted and its C-HR sibling are fairly well differentiated, at least externally. Subaru has given the Uncharted daytime running lamps with six LED elements that look quite different from the C-HR's C-shaped pieces. (On both, the primary headlights are smaller, square-ish units mounted lower in the bumper.) The Subie's entire nose is unique, in fact, with a more plastic-clad bumper that channels the brand's more adventurous vibes, and the (illuminated!) Subaru badge is located on the front fascia's flat, vertical face instead of up on the hood as on the C-HR. The sides of the Uncharted are basically identical to the Toyota's, with chunky black plastic cladding protecting the lower body area; "hidden" rear door handles in the roof pillars; and a coupe-like fastback roof painted a contrasting black color on certain trim levels. Moving to the rear, the Uncharted once again charts new styling ground, with more contoured full-width taillights and its own, more off-road-y bumper and reflector designs. Subaru also outfits the Uncharted with unique 18- and 20-inch wheels; the 20s on the example pictured outside are a much cooler design than any wheel option we've seen for the C-HR. Changes to the Uncharted's cabin are minimal yet effective in giving it at least a passing distinction from the C-HR. The squircle-shaped steering wheel does most of the heavy lifting here, as does the Subaru's unique upholstery and dashboard trim (pictured here with light gray seats and orange trim). Otherwise, the 14-inch touchscreen with its integrated physical climate control and volume knobs, air vent layout, dual front wireless phone chargers, and center console with rotary shift selector are identical to the Toyota's. Mostly Toyobaru Underneath Underneath the Uncharted's chunky body is a by now familiar component set. Just like the 2026 C-HR, the Subaru Uncharted gets a 74.7-kWh battery pack and available dual motors churning out 338 hp on mid- and top-tier Uncharted Sport and GT models. There is an entry-level Uncharted Premium FWD model that, as its name implies, is front-wheel drive with a single electric motor up front delivering 221 hp (another power figure you'll find looking across the mechanically related Toyota and Subaru EVs). The dual-motor Uncharted models are claimed to reach 60 mph in under five seconds. All versions' batteries are replenished via a NACS charging port on the front passenger-side fender, which enables Tesla Supercharger access. Max charging speeds are, as on every Toyota and Subaru EV, a modest 150 kW, which Subaru says is good enough to juice up from 10 percent battery charge to 80 percent in about 30 minutes. The onboard AC charger for Level 2 fill-ups is a quick 11-kW unit, so charging the Subaru at home should be an overnight affair with the right wall charger. Range estimates are quite good, as they are on the updated-for-2026 Toyota bZ and Subaru Solterra that use versions of this same battery and motor setup. As you might expect, the single-motor Uncharted Premium model delivers the most range, at over 300 miles per Subaru's estimates. The dual-motor examples are good for up to 290 miles of claimed range—also good considering the power on tap. Subaru notes some tuning differences between the Uncharted and its Toyota counterpart, namely a suspension set up for fun dynamics on-road and off, along with specific powertrain tuning unique to the Subie. The Uncharted also has an X-Mode (on dual-motor Sport and GT models), which optimizes the powertrain for different off-road scenarios to maximize traction and performance. Drivers can mess with X-Mode—tech also offered on other all-wheel-drive Subarus—using a console-mounted switch (on C-HRs, that space is covered by blank plastic plate). Solid Standard Subaru Specific Stuff Besides X-Mode, the Subaru Uncharted gets Subie-standard features such as heated front seats, heated door mirrors, and a windshield wiper de-icer. Those are standard on every Uncharted, including the base Premium model, as is a power tailgate, ambient interior lighting, and Subaru's EyeSight active safety tech (automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and DriverFocus "distraction mitigation system"). The Subaru Uncharted Sport model adds to that roster a heated steering wheel, StarTex water-resistant seat covers, and a 360-degree parking camera. Opt for the top-dog Uncharted GT, and Subaru throws in a panoramic glass roof with a power shade, 20-inch wheels, a digital rearview mirror, ventilation for the front seats, heated outboard rear seats, and a Harman Kardon audio system. We'll get more details on the Subaru Uncharted, including its specific dimensions, pricing, and EPA-estimated range, closer to its on-sale date in early 2026. Yes, the "new" Uncharted's lineage is definitely well, um, charted (C-HR!), but it breaks decisively in a distinctly Subaru direction. Spreading the Subaru-Toyota EV component set one model further, the Uncharted gets enough differentiation that we're looking forward to sampling the electric SUV for ourselves and seeing just how different it is to drive—and whether it gets some Subaru-appropriate dirt performance, too.

Subaru Uncharted Revealed: The First Front-Wheel Drive Subaru in Years
Like hybrids, Subaru is getting more serious about EVs. On Thursday, it revealed its third new model within after the Solterra and Trailseeker , the Uncharted. Like its larger electric siblings, the Uncharted is based on a Toyota, the new CH-R in this case, but features unique Subaru styling and chassis tuning. For the first time in a very long time for a Subaru in America, the Uncharted is available in front-wheel drive form. Subaru says it will build the Premium FWD variant in limited numbers, with 221 horsepower from its single electric motor. The pricier Uncharted Sport and GT models will get dual-motor all-wheel drive, with 338 hp in total. For those, Subaru claims a 5.0-second 0-60 mph run, which makes it quicker than the current WRX. Photo by: Subaru All versions of the Uncharted use a 74.4-kWh battery pack, with Subaru estimating a range of over 300 miles for the Premium FWD, and 290 miles for the Sport and GT variants. It will come with a Tesla-style NACS charging port standard, and it's capable of 150 kW of charging for a 10-80% charge time of around 30 minutes. Not mind-blowing figures, but not bad either. Subaru says it developed a unique chassis tune for the Uncharted designed for off-pavement performance. All-wheel drive models will also get the company's X-Mode drive modes, which optimize the car for lower-grip surfaces. Inside, it's very much as it is with the new Toyota CH-R, with a small 7-inch digital gauge cluster paired with a large 14-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are also dual wireless phone chargers up front. All models are well equipped with standard heated seats, heated outdoor mirrors, a windshield de-icer, a power tailgate, and a full suite of active safety systems. The Sport model adds niceties like a heated steering wheel and surround-view cameras, while the GT adds cooled seats and heat for the outer rear seats, 20-inch wheels, and an upgraded Harmon-Kardon sound system. Photo by: Subaru This is Subaru's smallest EV, nearly 7.0 inches shorter in length than the Solterra, which puts it right around 177.6 inches total. That makes it only slightly longer than a Subaru Crosstrek. Yet the Uncharted's 25.0 cubic feet of rear cargo space betters the Crosstrek's 20.0 cubic feet. Subaru says it'll announce pricing nearer to the Uncharted's early 2026 on-sale date. We'd expect a base MSRP somewhere in the mid-$30,000 range, but with tariffs and whatnot, we're not going to bet on anything.
