JEDDAH —The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) issued its monthly report on the compliance of airports and national carriers with flight times for the month of March 2025, based on the status of a flight departing or arriving within a period of less than 15 minutes of its scheduled time.
The report issued in March 2025 indicated that King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, Abha International Airport, Al-Ula International Airport, King Saud bin Abdulaziz Airport in Al-Baha, Dawadmi Airport, and Tarif Airport topped the report's rankings

Airports were divided into five categories. King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh took first place in the category of international airports with more than 15 million passengers annually, with a compliance rate of 93%. In the second category of international airports with 5 to 15 million passengers annually, King Fahd International Airport in Dammam took first place with a rate of 93%. In the third category of international airports with 2 to 5 million passengers annually, Abha International Airport took first place with a compliance rate of 95%.
AlUla International Airport ranked first in the fourth category for international airports with fewer than two million passengers annually, achieving a compliance rate of 97%. King Saud bin Abdulaziz Airport in Al Baha, Al Dawadmi Airport, and Turaif Airport each achieved first place in the fifth category for domestic airports, achieving a compliance rate of 100%.
Saudi Arabia's Airlines ranked first among national carriers with a 95% commitment rate for arrivals and 94% for departures. Flynas achieved a 91% commitment rate for arrivals and 91% for departures, and Flyadeal achieved a 91% commitment rate for arrivals and 94% for departures.
The report highlighted the most prominent domestic and international air routes. The Riyadh-Abha flight witnessed a 98% compliance rate for domestic air traffic, while the Riyadh-Amman flight ranked first among international flights with a 99% compliance rate.
These efforts are part of the National Aviation Strategy's objectives, which aim to strengthen Saudi Arabia's position as a leading regional aviation hub by improving operational standards, enhancing efficiency, and enhancing the quality of services provided to travelers.

RIYADH: The capital's Sands Sports Park is one of the flagship components of the Sports Boulevard project, combining the natural beauty of the desert with a range of sporting facilities. Located southeast of King Khalid International Airport, the park is designed to enhance residents' quality of life, inspiring them to exercise and enjoy nature, the Saudi Press Agency reported recently. The facility opened earlier this year and is a significant addition to the Kingdom's growing network of sporting and entertainment offerings. The park stretches across a vast expanse of sand dunes and features more than 45 km of multi-use trails, making it the longest open-air project dedicated to outdoor activities in the Kingdom. Sands Sports Park was designed with local heritage in mind, and features sculptures of the Najdi rose at the convergence of several trails. Several specialized trails offer different activities including cycling, mountain biking, running, walking, hiking and horseback riding. Eastern Province Governor unveils master plan for 3 Saudi airports

Governor of the Eastern Province Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz launched today the new identity and master plan for King Fahd International Airport, along with the master plans for Al-Ahsa International Airport and Qaisumah Airport, state-run news agency SPA reported. The Governor also launched Dammam airports' new strategy and electronic gates to streamline passenger procedures, and opened a package of integrated development projects worth over SAR 1.6 billion. These included the implementation of 77 development projects aimed at upgrading infrastructure and improving the passenger experience. The strategic plan aims to serve more than 19.3 million passengers annually at King Fahd International Airport by 2030, a growth of more than 100% compared to 2022. It also targets boosting air cargo capacity to over 600,000 tons annually, a growth of more than 1,000%. Key highlights of the future projects include the first-of-its-kind expansion in the history of King Fahd International Airport to boost its operational capacity to 77 aircraft movements per hour and increase passenger capacity to 32 million annually. This is in addition to a comprehensive upgrade of general aviation facilities and the expansion of airport infrastructure to meet the highest global operational standards. This reflects Dammam airports' commitment to transforming into a regional logistics hub serving the goals of Vision 2030, as passenger numbers have already shown a 35% increase by the end of 2024 compared to 2022.
