Who is this superstar? Tabu played the role of both his wife and mother..., not Amitabh Bachchan, can you guess his name?
Here's how Honey Rose impressed with just one film?
Hailing from Malayalam cinema, Honey Rose made her Telugu debut with the 2023 blockbuster Veera Simha Reddy. Despite it being her only Telugu film so far, she left a lasting impact by portraying not one, but two pivotal roles — Balakrishna's wife and mother. Her performance was so seamless and nuanced that audiences accepted the duality without hesitation.
Did Tabu do the same before? Here's what we know
Absolutely. Superstar Tabu, known for her powerhouse roles in both Bollywood and South Indian films, played a similar double role back in 2002. In the film Chennakesava Reddy, she essayed the role of the senior Balakrishna's wife and junior Balayya's mother. The film became a hit, and Tabu's versatility only added to its iconic status.
Her performance remains one of the most memorable in Balakrishna's career, and fans continue to recall it fondly two decades later.
Balakrishna's upcoming projects
Balayya is currently filming Akhanda 2 under the direction of Boyapati Srinu. The sequel to the hit Akhanda promises to be bigger and grander, with massive sets, a huge budget, and electrifying action sequences. A recently released teaser featuring Balayya's fiery Shiv Tandav sequence has already set the internet abuzz.
After delivering four consecutive hits, Balayya is now aiming for an all-India blockbuster. With Akhanda 2 being marketed as a pan-Indian release, expectations are sky-high.
These two actresses may not have shared the screen, but their unique roles in Balakrishna's cinematic journey show just how vital strong female leads have been to his storytelling.

Metro In Dino Box Office Day 9: Anurag Basu Film Remains Steady, Makes Rs 4.65 Crore
Anurag Basu's ensemble drama Metro… In Dino saw a strong surge at the box office on its ninth day, collecting Rs 4.65 crore on its second Saturday. This is nearly double its Day 8 earnings of Rs 2.35 crore, reflecting growing interest among moviegoers. The film's upward trend is largely being driven by positive word-of-mouth, especially in urban centres, where audience turnout has significantly improved. The Hindi (2D) version recorded steady growth in occupancy through the day. Morning shows reported 18.63% occupancy, which jumped to 47.86% in the afternoon and peaked at 56.28% during evening screenings. The increase signals renewed interest, particularly from viewers in metropolitan areas. Metro… In Dino, directed by Anurag Basu, continues to hold its ground at the box office. The musical romantic drama features a star-studded cast, including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Anupam Kher, and Neena Gupta. While the film's earnings may not match the scale of recent Bollywood blockbusters, its performance is noteworthy—especially considering there was little pre-release hype and it released alongside major Hollywood competition like Jurassic World: Rebirth starring Scarlett Johansson. Metro… In Dino opened with Rs 3.5 crore and wrapped up its first weekend with Rs 16.17 crore, marking a promising beginning. Set in metro cities, the film tells multiple interconnected stories of couples navigating modern-day love and relationships. It delves into how emotions, choices, and life's unpredictability shape love in today's fast-paced world. The film serves as a spiritual successor to Basu's 2007 hit Life… In A Metro. Among the returning faces, only Konkona Sen Sharma reprises her involvement from the original film. Pankaj Tripathi's character draws similarities to the late Irrfan Khan's Monty—quirky, layered, and reflective of the emotional challenges in contemporary romance. Audiences and critics alike have praised the film for its touching narrative, solid performances by the ensemble cast, and a soulful soundtrack by Pritam, which includes songs like Zamaana Lage, Aur Mohabbat Kitni Karoon, Qayde Se, and Dil Ka Kya.
