ChatGPT Plus And Gemini AI Pro Cost The Same In India: Which One Should You Buy?
ChatGPT and Gemini premium plans cost over Rs 1,900 per month in India but how do they compare and which one is better?
ChatGPT Plus and Gemini AI Pro are two paid versions of the popular AI chatbots from OpenAI and Google, respectively. The companies have invested billions into their AI products and now looking to recoup some of that money from its consumers.
And the best way to do that is to offer a package of the AI chatbots that not only unlocks the latest AI models but also bundles them with a slew of services which makes it attractive for the money people are being asked to pay.
ChatGPT Plus costs Rs 1,900 per month in India, while the Gemini AI Pro version comes for Rs 1,950 per month, which makes them similar in terms of the price range. But do they offer the same set of features or does OpenAI have more in the bank than a giant like Google? We've decided to do this comparison and help you out with the details.
ChatGPT Plus vs Gemini AI Pro Price In India
ChatGPT Plus is priced at Rs 1,900 which has to be paid every month. Google is charging Rs 1,950 per month for the Gemini AI Pro plan in India. Earlier it used to be called the Gemini Advanced plan.
Besides these you also get support for voice conversations, image generation (using DALL-E), File uploads and analysis, Deep Research tools (where available) and Custom GPT creation.
People have been appealed by these features because their other options were limited. But Google Gemini AI Pro takes the Plus model head on and delivers a more compelling set of benefits. Here's what you get from Google:
And recently, Google announced that the Veo 3 AI model let you generate 10 videos with native audio support if you take the Gemini AI Pro plan.
Granted, both these AI chatbot plans have certain limits but that is expected when you pay under Rs 2,000 per month to access the latest and powerful AI models from these companies. And that's why they have another premium tier plan called the ChatGPT Pro and the Gemini Ultra that gives you all the Plus/Pro features but opens up the AI models to a whole new playground for the users.

Crowdfunding a dream: Bengaluru students build racecar for national event
Bengaluru: Twenty-three engineering students of BR Ambedkar Institute of Technology in the city are racing against time — and budget constraints — to complete their dream project: Building a Formula Student racecar for a national competition next month. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Saranyu Racing Team, part of the college's sports car club, has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise the final Rs 3 lakh needed to complete the car. Its poster reads: "Help us build more than a car, help shape the next generation of engineers." The car is being built for the SAE Supra national-level competition, set to take place in Aug at Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. With an overall budget of Rs 20 lakh, the students have already raised Rs 17 lakh through sponsorships, alumni support, and contributions from the college management. "We knocked on every possible door. Some alumni not only contributed money but also guided us through technical hurdles. But with the bodywork and component procurement still pending, we turned to crowdfunding," said Yashas M, a 2023 graduate and founding member of the club. This is the college's second time at the competition. Last year, Saranyu finished 35th in the internal combustion category and eighth in the business plan event, among 70 teams. It topped the sales presentation and cost evaluation segments, and came second in design reports at FFS India Season 5. The sports car club, founded in 2022, includes students from all engineering streams and semesters, making it a truly multidisciplinary effort. Ten of the 23 members are women. In Bengaluru, student car clubs are serious business, and the city usually has around 10 colleges regularly participating in competitions. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now In some tier-1 colleges, getting into their clubs is more difficult than cracking their entrance exams. "We're proud that with limited resources, we can compete with teams from IITs," said Hemang Vishwanath Gowda, a second-year electronics and instrumentation student. Priyanka K, a second-year electronics and communication student, will drive the car during the dynamic event at the competition. "The adrenaline rush of hitting the tracks makes all the sleepless nights worth it," she said. College secretary M Mahadeva said: "Our institution believes in empowering students to realise their dreams. This Formula Student car project reflects our commitment to student-led innovation."

Will look into import protection for Kashmir apple growers: Piyush Goyal
Union Commerce and Industries minister Piyush Goyal said Sunday that the central government will look into demands of Kashmiri apple growers for greater protection against imports. Goyal was addressing a trade conclave organised by the Federation of Trade and Industry of India (FTII) in Srinagar. The conclave was also attended by J&K Cabinet Minister Satish Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP Ghulam Ali Khatana and chairman of National Trade Welfare Board Sunil Singh. Goyal said he will 'talk to the agriculture ministry' on the demands of the apple growers. He said that the stakeholders of the apple industry have requested for protection of the apple fruit from the imports. 'The industry has requested for more protection on this fruit, which at present attracts a minimum import price (MIP) Rs 50 per Kg and 50 per cent import duty,' Goyal said. He said that after factoring in all the costs, the consumers pay Rs 125 to Rs 150 per kilogram. He said there is a need to balance the interests of the growers and consumers. While the apple produce from Kashmir and Himachal is supplied to different parts of the country, India still imports around six lakh tonnes of apple to meet shortages. On a suggestion from the union territory's handicrafts industry to reduce the GST from 12 percent to 5 percent, Goyal said he would take up the issue. 'I will see how to bring it in the 5 per cent bracket,' he said. 'But we will try to find a solution'. On the Pahalgam terror attack, Goyal said that the people of Kashmir had given 'a befitting reply to the terrorists'.
