Hulk Hogan's concerning appearance during final TV appearance just weeks before death

Hulk Hogan's body transformation sparked worry among fans during his final TV appearance in May. Hulk Hogan made his final ever TV appearance on Fox & Friends just weeks before his death at 71-years-old to discuss his new venture, Real American Freestyle wrestling. However, instead of focusing on the project which aired in May, viewers fixated on his appearance with many describing him as looking 'unwell.' ‌ Viewers rushed to social media to discuss the wrestling legend's look. Famed for his signature bronze glow, fans insisted that Hogan's skin appeared to have aged very suddenly. In his final TV appearance, the WWE icon wore a t-shirt reading 'America first, beer second', topped with his famous red bandana and sunglasses perched on his head.. ‌ His facial hair raised some eyebrows too as his beard was dyed jet black while his goatee and hair remained stark white. Harsh comments from social media users mocked his appearance at the time, the Mirror reports. ‌ One wrote:'Tell Hulk Hogan his face is dirty, clean that soot off." Another asked: "Does anyone believe this is Hulk Hogan?' A third compared his appearance to a toy as they joked: 'Hulk Hogan giving off Wooly Willy vibes this am on Fox & Friends.' ‌ Others shared concern for the WWE legend as one viewer penned: "Hulk looks so different. I really hope he's doing okay." In addition to this, Hogan's response to questions also sparked alarm. While the WWE icon attempted to explain his new wrestling league, his thoughts seemed scattered, and the segment veered into rambling. ‌ Hogan's death was confirmed by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE ) on July 24 in a statement on X which read: 'WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. 'One of pop culture's most recognisable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s.'WWE extends its condolences to Hogan's family, friends, and fans.' TMZ reports that medics were dispatched to the 71-year-old's home in Clearwater, Florida. ‌ The sad news comes just a few weeks after his wife, Sky, had to deny rumours he was in a coma. Hogan is believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest at his Florida home. It's been reported that medics were dispatched to Hulk's home in Clearwater, Florida, early on Thursday morning. ‌ It's understood operators stated it was a "cardiac arrest". TMZ has also reported that a large number of police cars and emergency vehicles were parked outside the wrestling legend's home, and he was 'carried on a stretcher into an ambulance'. ‌ The audio from the 911 call has also now been shared after medics rushed to Hulk Hogan's home. In the audio, obtained by TMZ, first responders can be heard explaining that a patient had gone into cardiac arrest. In the weeks prior to Hulk's death, a representative for the WWE icon denied speculation he was gravely ill. ‌ In May, it was announced that he'd undergone a small "fusion procedure" on his neck. However by June, a YouTuber claimed that things were "not looking good" for him. ‌ Denying the speculation, a representative said that Hulk's surgery had been "successful" and there were "no reasons to panic." They added: "He just needs from time to time a medical check up." In his final Instagram video, Hulk made a promotional clip for Real American Beer where he sipped on the alcoholic beverage and encouraged his fans to try the patriotic beer. ‌ He said: "Real American beer, made in America, by real Americans. Get some, brother. That's America brother", as he took a sip. Tributes from the wrestling world have flooded in after the news of Hogan's death, who's been hailed as "one of pop culture's most recognisable figures". Ric Flair, who is a champion in wrestling like Hulk, paid tribute online: "I Am Absolutely Shocked To Hear About The Passing Of My Close Friend @HulkHogan! ‌ "Hulk Has Been By My Side Since We Started In The Wrestling Business. An Incredible Athlete, Talent, Friend, And Father! Our Friendship Has Meant The World To Me. He Was Always There For Me Even When I Didn't Ask For Him To Be. "He Was One Of The First To Visit Me When I Was In The Hospital With A 2% Chance Of Living, And He Prayed By My Bedside. Hulk Also Lent Me Money When Reid Was Sick. Hulkster, No One Will Ever Compare To You! Rest In Peace My Friend!" ‌ Taking to Instagram, Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone shared a snap of himself and Hulk, who he appeared alongside in Rocky III in 1982. The actor said: "I had the pleasure of meeting this brilliant personality and showman when he was 26 years old. He was absolutely wonderful and his amazing skill made Rocky three incredibly special. My heart breaks. I think that he's gone…" Broadcaster Piers Morgan, who previously interviewed Hulk, has also labelled the WWE star as the "most iconic" wrestler. In a statement shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, he said: "RIP Hulk Hogan - the most iconic wrestler in history, a wonderful character, and in person, a far gentler, charming, intelligent man far removed from his snarling beast ring (and Rocky movie!) persona. Sad news."

Florida GOP Hawks Merch for Brutal ‘Alligator Alcatraz' Migrant Detention Camp

The Florida Republican Party is selling merchandise promoting its new migrant detention camp in the Florida Everglades. Dubbed 'Alligator Alcatraz' by its proponents, Republicans are salivating at the prospect of subjecting undocumented migrants to brutal conditions in giant plastic tents situated in the oppressive heat and humidity of backwater Florida. 'The feds have greenlit Alligator Alcatraz — Florida's gator-guarded, python-patrolled prison for illegal aliens who thought they could game the system,' reads a fundraising email from the Florida GOP. 'Surrounded by miles of swamp and bloodthirsty wildlife, this ain't no vacation spot. It's a one-way ticket to regret for criminals who'll wish they'd self-deported' 'Every shirt, hat, or koozie you grab funds our push to keep Florida tough on crime, and tougher on borders,' the email reads. Shirts for sale feature what looks to be an AIgenerated image of a prison in a swamp, with a python and an alligator in the foreground. Koozies and hats are also for sale. Alcatraz is, of course, the notorious former maximum security prison in the middle of San Francisco Bay. The prison was long believed to be inescapable given the surrounding frigid waters and deadly currents. Earlier this year, Trump said he was directing the government to rebuild and reopen Alcatraz as a high-security prison for the nation's 'most ruthless and violent offenders.' The plan has seemingly stalled, probably because the facility underwent a transformation into a museum that has been open to the public for more than half a century. In Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis is looking to replace oceans and sharks of the actual Alcatraz with gator-infested swampland. On Friday, DeSantis gave Fox News an exclusive tour of the facility, which the state is scrambling to ready for its first wave of migrants by next week. The facility is built on top of a remote 'airport' with a few scant buildings. As DeSantis put it, the federal government could 'fly these people back to their own country, they can do it [here,] one stop shop.' 'This is as secure as it gets,' the governor told Fox & Friends host Steve Doocy. 'If a criminal alien were to escape from here somehow — and I don't think they will — you have nowhere to go. What are you going to do? Trudge through the swamp and dodge alligators on the way back — 50 or 60 miles — just to get to civilization? Not going to happen.' The governor bragged that everything is being done 'by the book' and that inmates would even be given access to showers and medical care. 'It presents an efficient, low-cost opportunity to build a temporary detention facility because you don't need to invest that much in the perimeter,' Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said earlier this week in a promotional video for the camp. 'If people get out, there's not much waiting for them other than alligators and pythons.' Creating torturous conditions for undocumented immigrants rounded up en mass seems to be a central component of the administration's immigration crackdown. The stunt in Florida evokes the specter of former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio's tent-city jail, which for decades boasted some of the cruelest and most inhumane conditions in the American prison system. Trump has also praised the Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT) in El Salvador, a maximum security prison that doubles as a propaganda staging ground for the autocratic Salvadoran government. Earlier this year, the Trump administration disappeared hundreds of undocumented men — many of whom had no known criminal record — to CECOT, and made a public show of frog-marching them to the facility known for human rights abuses. Given that DeSantis is already inviting in camera crews to tour the unfinished Alligator Alcatraz facility, there's a good chance the remote, uncomfortable setting of this new prison will be featured prominently in the administration's zero-tolerance immigration narrative. As DeSantis hinted to Doocy during the tour: 'If the president is watching, I'm sure that runway could probably land Air Force One.' Gavin Newsom's office says Linda McMahon's ‘fake' threats over trans kids in sports ‘divorced from reality'

U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, the former professional wrestling magnate, on Wednesday morning, said California could lose federal funding if it refuses to comply with new Title IX enforcement demands targeting transgender student-athletes, escalating the Trump administration's broad effort to penalize states that allow students to compete based on gender identity. Keep up with the latest in + news and politics. In an appearance on Fox & Friends, McMahon said California must 'send a letter of apology to all of the female participants in sports,' 'return the titles that were taken away,' and 'make it right' — or risk the loss of K–12 education funding. 'Talk is cheap,' McMahon said of Gov. Gavin Newsom. 'We've investigated... and found that it was an infraction. Now we are demanding that they take action, or we'll take action.' Related: Gov. Gavin Newsom faces backlash over comments he made about transgender student athletes Her comments came just hours before the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights formally announced its conclusion that the California Department of Education and the California Interscholastic Federation are in violation of Title IX, the federal civil rights law barring sex-based discrimination in education. The department claims that California's policy of allowing transgender girls to compete in girls' sports constitutes unlawful sex discrimination. In a press release Wednesday, the department said California must rescind its guidance permitting participation based on gender identity, issue written apologies to cisgender female athletes, restore records and titles 'misappropriated by [transgender] athletes,' and adopt binary 'biology-based definitions' of sex. If the CDE and CIF do not accept the proposed resolution agreement within 10 days, the department said that the matter will be referred to the U.S. Department of Justice. Related: Andy Beshear lambastes Gavin Newsom for hosting Steve Bannon on podcast 'The state must swiftly come into compliance with Title IX or face the consequences that follow,' McMahon warned in the release. She added that Newsom himself 'admitted months ago it was 'deeply unfair' to allow men to compete in women's sports,' referencing the governor's controversial March podcast interview with far-right activist Charlie Kirk. That interview drew sharp condemnation from LGBTQ+ advocates, including the Human Rights Campaign, who accused Newsom of legitimizing anti-trans narratives. 'It is an issue of fairness,' Newsom said during the debut episode of This Is Gavin Newsom, agreeing with Kirk's framing of trans girls in school sports. Although his office later attempted to clarify his position, civil rights groups argued that the damage was done. Related: Gavin Newsom cut LGBTQ+ health funding. The CA legislature is set to restore $40 million Newsom's office rejected McMahon's threat. 'It wouldn't be a day ending in 'Y' without the Trump Administration threatening to defund California,' Newsom's director of communications, Izzy Gardon, told The Advocate. 'Now, Secretary McMahon is confusing government with her WrestleMania days — dramatic, fake, and completely divorced from reality. This won't stick.' According to an administration official, the CIF is an independent nonprofit organization, not part of the Newsom administration, and they noted that California is one of 22 states with laws requiring schools to allow students to participate in athletics consistent with their gender identity. The state's law — AB 1266 — was enacted in 2013 under then-Gov. Jerry Brown. The number of transgender student-athletes in California's public school system, the official said, is estimated to be in the single digits among 5.8 million students. Related: California bans forced outing of LGBTQ+ students as Gov. Gavin Newsom signs landmark law Last year, the president of the NCAA told Congress that of the 510,000 student-athletes, fewer than 11 are trans. McMahon, a former WWE executive and major Trump campaign fundraiser, has led the administration's renewed push to enforce Title IX in line with the president's executive order banning transgender participation in women's sports despite Trump's moves to eliminate the Education Department. In a separate Fox News interview Wednesday, McMahon said the administration may consider criminal prosecution for school or state officials who defy federal directives. 'If the president would like us to look into it, we certainly would,' she said. The OCR's enforcement announcement also coincides with what the department is now calling 'Title IX Month,' which it claims honors the 53rd anniversary of the landmark law. The Trump administration no longer acknowledges June as Pride Month.
