Horrifying video: Father brutally beats his child in Egypt
ALBAWABA - A horrifying video circulating on social media sparked anger across Egypt after capturing a father brutally beating his child on a balcony located in 10th of Ramadan City, in Sharqia. Many Egyptian netizens took to platforms such as X (formerly known as Twitter) to condemn the act and once again voice their concerns about the rise of domestic violence cases in Egypt over the years. The child was heard crying for help and begging his father to stop. However, the father kept on brutally assaulting him, despite many attempts at begging. A neighbor was heard urging the individual who captured the video to share the incident on social media so that the father would suffer the consequences of his actions. Caution: Disturbing footage below Later, the video was monitored by the relevant authorities, prompting an investigation into the issue at hand. Additionally, authorities successfully identified the family, the location of the incident, and began taking the necessary measures against them. The police arrested both the father and the mother after neighbors disclosed that they had been repeatedly assaulting their children without anyone intervening. Local reports revealed that the father assaulted his children as a method of "disciplining" them for their wrong actions. The father was teaching his son "a lesson" because he stole his brother's phone to buy cigarettes, which triggered the brutal beatings captured in the video. While many condemn the act, the victim's brother took to his father's defense and said in a Facebook post, "Dad is affectionate, but my brother made a mistake and had to be punished." He added, "My little brother did something wrong and my father sat him down and explained it to him once or twice, but he insisted on doing it again, which prompted my father to discipline him like any father raising his son. I condemn all the comments made by citizens on social media. No one knows anything. They just watched the video on Facebook, but no one understood, and they are all saying whatever they want."
