The Sun reported on Sunday evening that Paul Gascoigne, known as Gazza, was taken to an intensive care unit after being found semi-conscious by his friend at his house in Dorset on Friday. His friend and personal assistant Steve Foster, who has been reported as the person who found him, told The Sun that hospital was 'best possible place for him to be right now'. He said Mr Gascoigne wanted to thank those who had reached out with well wishes. Stroud Hospital staff share memories for 15-year anniversary

"We did everything from delivering laundry to the wards, food as well, sorting post, sorting out taking deceased to the mortuary," he said. "Pretty much everything that nobody else wanted to do was our job," he added. He said he liked the job so much he became head porter in 1981, remaining in the role full-time for nearly 30 years and only fully giving it up around three years ago. Even now, he volunteers one day a week in a shop run by Stroud Hospitals League of Friends, which supports the site with of Stroud and Vale Community Hospitals, Liz Lovett, said she was "really proud" of the hospital's "incredible service" and staff would be celebrating in a number of ways, including a picture competition with local schools."This is an opportunity to thank everyone who has made Stroud General Hospital what it is today," she added.

Scarborough's Victorian cliff lift celebrates 150th birthday
One of Britain's oldest funicular railways is celebrating a major milestone this weekend with a series of family-friendly events. Built in 1875, Scarborough Spa Cliff Lift is marking its 150th mark the occasion, North Yorkshire Council and Scarborough Spa are hosting live performances, activities and heritage exhibitions at the spa and lift James, Scarborough Spa and cliff lift manager, said many generations of visitors shared fond memories of riding in the carriages up the cliffside. "There are a lot of people who have grown up and come to Scarborough with their grandparents or their parents and now they're bringing their children back to the lift," he said."It's a 40-second journey but it just seems to be quite memorable - it's that nostalgia as well."The Spa Cliff Lift was heralded as "a marvel of Victorian engineering" and used to transport passengers between the hotels on the Esplanade and the cost £8,000 to build and was originally powered by water and gas engines until it was converted to run on electricity in the 1950s. Alan Wilson, the lift's longest-serving supervisor, said he has "no plans to retire just yet"."I've worked on the lift for 23 years, and I still love it," he said."The best part is seeing visitors come back year after year. Everyone has a story to tell about the lift – it's part of what makes Scarborough so special."The weekend celebrations will include a live brass band, and Scarborough-based arts group Animated Objects will display working models of the commissioned in honour of the anniversary can also be viewed in the recently redeveloped South Cliff Gardens. Hibs new 2025/26 away kit goes on sale next week ahead of anniversary match
Hibs brand-new 2025/26 Away Kit goes on sale at 10am on Wednesday 9 July. Fans caught a glimpse of the shirt for the first time when Rocky Bushiri modelled the new kit after signing a new contract with the Club last week. Created alongside Technical Partner Joma, the new away kit returns to a bright and fresh yellow tone – a colour which has proved popular over the years. There are several subtle features woven into the design of the top – including a new 150th Anniversary crest, plus the 150th Anniversary symbol embroidered on the back of the neck and '06 August 1875′ printed inside the collar. There is also an embossed pattern within the material of the shirt. The new kit will be available in short sleeves as well as women's fit, with carrying the front-of-shirt sponsor! The playing shorts are all a rich and darker green matching the colour of the home kit, with yellow socks that carry a green trim around the knee. Ohio church hosts pie and ice cream social June 29 to celebrate 150th anniversary
Jun. 28—OHIO — Immaculate Conception Church has announced several upcoming events to celebrate its 150th anniversary. A pie and ice cream social will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 29, in the church's basement, 101 N. Main St., Ohio. Attendees can reminisce about their faith journeys. Ice cream, pie and coffee will be served. An anniversary Mass is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15. The Mass will commemorate the church's dedication. A celebration dinner is set for after the Mass in the church basement. Dinner attendees are encouraged to register. The church was dedicated by Bishop Thomas P. Foley of Chicago on Nov. 14, 1875. The parish's first pastor was Father P.J. Gormley. The church's current pastor is the Rev. Thomas Shaw.
