Did your favorite beach in South Florida make this list? Take a look

A national luxury travel magazine once again says South Beach has one of the best beaches in the state. Condé Nast Traveler, in its 2025 '21 Best Beaches in Florida' list, praised South Beach as the place for 'beautiful people, flashy cars, skimpy bathing suits, Art Deco architecture' along a 'two-mile white sand stretch that makes up Florida's most famous beach.' 'It's all here,' the magazine gushed. The magazine gushed similarly about South Beach on Florida's best beaches' the 2023 list. The Miami Beach stretch also made it onto Condé Nast's 2021 Best Beaches national list: 'The siren song of Miami's South Beach is undeniable.' No 'siren song' reference in the 2025 listing — that sound may be the honking of cars trying to navigate into one of the parking spots along Ocean Drive. But the gay beach on 12th Street with its 'sea of Speedo-clad, sculpted bods' gets a shout-out. The 'quieter patches below Fifth Street' for locals looking to swim and sun away from tourists was also singled out. The magazine recommends staying staying at either 'the soothing, nature-inspired' 1 Hotel South Beach or the 'art-forward, all-suite' W South Beach near each other on Collins Avenue. Four other beaches in South Florida made Condé Nast Traveler's Top 21 in the state in 2025, which also featured picturesque spots Main Beach on Amelia Island, Key Largo's John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and Marco Island Beach. Here's a look: Other local beach favorites These four South Florida beaches join South Beach among Florida's fab beaches, according to Condé Nast Traveler: ▪ Haulover Naturist Beach, North Miami-Dade between Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles Beach 'Attention: Beyond this point you may encounter nude bathers,' the sign reads at South Florida's only officially recognized public nude beach. 'As welcoming as it is well-loved,' Condé Nast notes for its mix of body types that frolic here. Two Fort Lauderdale beaches made the magazine's best of '25 list in Florida. ▪ Sebastian Street Beach Beach. You'll find this gay-friendly beach on Sebastian Street and A1A across the street from the Casablanca Cafe in Fort Lauderdale. Condé Nast calls Sebastian 'a sun-soaked celebration of queer joy, where every color of the rainbow is not just welcomed but wonderfully visible.' The vibe is casual with locals, visitors and couples making up the clientele. Come as you are but wear a bathing suit. 'Towel-to-towel diversity.' ▪ Fort Lauderdale Beach, the tried-and-true A1A landmark where Florida Panthers hockey fans celebrated back-to-back Stanley Cup wins and even took the Stanley Cup trophy for a dip last year. This year, revelers gave a replica cup a dunk when officials said 'no' to ruining the original with salt water. MORE: Singer Connie Francis is having a moment at 87. What she says about her 'Baby' Fort Lauderdale Beach is also where spring break originated thanks to the hit 1960 movie filmed here and starring Connie Francis and its famous featured song, 'Where the Boys Are.' You kids know Francis from her current TikTok-trending hit, 'Pretty Little Baby.' City officials have since refocused the vibe away from spring break but the 'uncluttered stretches of sand, sparkling blue waters' still thrive along A1A, the magazine writes. And finally, Key Biscayne in Miami-Dade snags a spot on Florida's 21 Best Beach's list for 2025. ▪ Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is just a mile-long beach on the southern tip of Key Biscayne but it has that historic lighthouse, leaf-lined walking trails for walking and biking and nearby restaurants. This one may no longer merit world-best status, the travel magazine says, but it's 'indeed nice.'

Seeking Hookups and Relationships on Work Trips

On a recent stay at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, I entered the hotel after a long day of intense meetings, looked at the hopping lobby bar, and thought to myself: if only I were single. I'll tell you why. My room looked directly into the illustrious CAA offices, conjuring up vivid fantasies about meeting some Hollywood hotshot with a dirty mind and house in the Hills. Also, the hotel's common areas were flush with interesting travelers—a mix of surgeons (a conference!), random LA producers, and attractive, international business people. Lastly, I was lonely; I had flown to Los Angeles to sell a TV show, the meetings were successful, and I wanted someone to celebrate with. My partner and our two young kids were at home in Brooklyn, and sadly I had no one to pop a bottle of Champagne with. Alas. I've had this if only sensation at a few other hotels around the world. 1 Hotel South Beach, with its entrancing indoor-outdoor aesthetic and late-night party crowd at AVIV, is super-seductive in that work-hard-play-hard way. The Hoxton in Paris has the most electric social scene I've ever experienced in Europe—the liveliness hits you the second you step into the property. Which reminds me, the Air France lounge at New York-JFK (and no doubt CDG) has a nice, flirtatious vibe too. When I asked legitimately single friends, who travel constantly for work, about the current state of affairs (no pun intended) for busy travelers looking for love (or friendship, or sex, or whatever!), they confirmed my suspicion: It's an excellent time to be single and traveling. 'I consider my travel schedule to be a feature not a glitch' Tia, a celebrity hairstylist who is always on the road Zachary, 40, who travels 'about half the year' for his job as a lawyer working in finance, fondly remembers being stuck at the American Airlines Admirals Club lounge in San Francisco, late at night, because his flight was delayed. While sitting at the bar, he met a woman in a similar situation. 'We were vibing over drinks, and she was also delayed,' he recalls. 'We decided to stop drinking and look for a place to sit…then we walked past the boring chairs and decided to try the sleep lounge where the lights weren't so harsh. We were the only ones there and started kissing for a couple minutes before they announced the lounge was closing at 11:30. We said our goodbyes, and I didn't get her number, but it was really romantic in a crazy way.'

1 Hotel South Beach Ushers In New Era Of Dining With Aviv

In Miami's ever-evolving culinary scene, a new name is set to take center stage: Aviv is the latest creation from the five-time James Beard Award-winning hospitality group CookNSolo. Helmed by Chef Michael Solomonov and restaurateur Steve Cook, Aviv is bringing a fresh and vibrant take on modern Israeli cuisine to 1 Hotel South Beach. Aviv - which means 'spring' in Hebrew - draws inspiration from the rich culinary heritage of Israel, blending ancient cooking traditions with the dynamic energy of both Miami and Tel Aviv. This long-anticipated restaurant, which opened on March 14, is a testament to Solomonov's expertise in elevating Middle Eastern flavors, only here they're reimagined through a Miami lens. 'We couldn't be more excited for the wonderful people of Miami to experience our newest concept,' says Chef Solomonov. 'Aviv will be a soulful dining experience, combining ancient cooking methods with modern techniques.' Chef Michael Solomonov at Aviv Signature dishes begin with the beloved Saluf, a Yemenite flatbread baked-to-order and served alongside Solomonov's iconic hummus tehina in many variations, including one with beef and pine nuts as well as brown butter, urfa and crispy garlic. Served alongside are an array of vibrant small salads or Salatim, including Moroccan carrots, cabbage with sumac onions, twice-cooked eggplant and spicy fennel. It's the kind of fare reminiscent of the bustling eateries on the outskirts of Jaffa with an ever-changing array of fresh, seasonal vegetables served in heaps of small dishes. Mezze selections include a dazzling haloumi baklava, tuna boreeka, warm stuffed dates and fried cauliflower, while the Al Ha'esh offerings - which mean 'on the fire' - churns out beef shishlik, grouper atop spicy Chraime and Bulgarian kebabs. Every dish speaks to the thoughtful balance between heritage and creativity, making Aviv a destination for both culinary adventurers and devoted food lovers. TK Aviv's home at the 1 South Beach is fitting in terms of aesthetics. The space has been meticulously reimagined by the design firm Post Company, which has woven together a tapestry of textures and materials to create a setting that feels intimate and transportive. The restaurant features an expansive open kitchen, allowing diners a glimpse into the artistry of Chef Solomonov's team. A dedicated bar and lounge invite guests to linger over cocktails, while the outdoor terrace offers al fresco dining set in the heart of Miami Beach. The lobby at 1 Hotel South Beach. Known for its eco-conscious ethos and refined yet laid-back hospitality, 1 Hotel South Beach has long been a favorite destination for discerning travelers seeking a blend of natural beauty and world-class amenities. 'We are excited to welcome AVIV to 1 Hotel South Beach and bring a new, premier dining destination to the city,' says Milton Sgarbi, regional vice president of operations at the hotel.
