Qatar cueist Ali Al Obaidly claims Asian snooker bronze
Team Qatar produced a mixed performance in the round robin stage of the 2025 Asian Team Snooker Championship in Colombo. They opened with a commanding 3-1 win over hosts Sri Lanka, with standout efforts from Ali Al Obaidly, Bashar Abdul Majeed and Mohanna Al Obaidli. However, they fell short against a strong Pakistan side featuring world champion Muhammad Asif. Ali Al Obaidly gave Qatar an early lead with a 60-point break but Pakistan rallied to win 3-1. Al Obaidly, who also claimed bronze in the 6-Red singles, will lead Qatar in their final group clash against Cambodia on Friday. The tournament concludes on Saturday.
