Delivering medicine via drone
Published on: Tuesday, May 13, 2025 Published on: Tue, May 13, 2025 By: Lagatah Toyos Text Size: The Prime Minister visiting the MCMC booth. TAWAU: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) introduced a drone medicine delivery initiative that will be implemented by it with the Ministry of Health Malaysia as the main partner. MCMC in a media statement said that the project was also held in collaboration with strategic partners such as MRANTI and local drone technology providers. 'This initiative is a pilot project to prove the effectiveness of the method of delivering medicines in rural and remote areas from Health Clinics to selected NADIs to speed up access to medicines to communities in hard-to-reach areas. 'This includes island areas, remote areas and locations that do not have good road conditions,' he said. According to him, the implementation of the first phase of delivering medicines using drones is expected to be implemented in the fourth quarter of 2025 in two NADIs including the NADI in Tawau as announced by the Prime Minister during his visit to the NADI booth. Next, the pilot project will be expanded to 150 NADIs in 2026 and completed to a total of 392 NADIs by 2027. In total, there are 1,099 NADIs nationwide. Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim visited the main attractions at the MCMC booth after officiating the Closing Ceremony of the Sabah State Madani Rakyat (PMR) 2025 Program at the Tawau Municipal Council (MPT) Square on Sunday. MCMC through the National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI) participated in the PMR by promoting NADI's Smart Services and high-impact strategic projects to the community, especially in interior areas. The NADI booth at the Tawau PMR also featured various NADI's Smart Services activities through five main thrusts, namely Entrepreneurship, Health, Lifelong Learning, IT Awareness and Government Services. Meanwhile, the statement also stated that through collaboration between various agencies, this project also supports the agenda of expanding existing government initiatives with a focus on access to higher quality and equitable future health services to rural communities through technology. This is in line with the development and availability of 5G technology and artificial intelligence (AI). * Follow us on Instagram and join our Telegram and/or WhatsApp channel(s) for the latest news you don't want to miss. * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news? GoldQuest Commences 2025 Exploration Program with 5,000 Meters of Drill Campaign
Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - April 23, 2025) - GoldQuest Mining Corp. (TSXV: GQC) ("GoldQuest" or the "Company") is pleased announce its 2025 Exploration Program (the "2025 Program") is now underway. This comprehensive initiative includes extensive ground exploration and an initial Phase 1 drill campaign of up to 5,000 metres. Exploration activities have commenced at the Los Ganchos and Cañada La Vaca targets, within the Company's prioritized exploration corridor (see Figure 1). The program includes detailed surface mapping, rock and soil sampling, and trenching to refine high-potential drill targets. "This campaign builds on our proven discovery track record in the Tireo Belt," stated Luis Santana, CEO. "With this drilling program we are eager to unlock the next generation of gold-copper VMS deposits while advancing Romero toward development." Leandro Sastre, VP Exploration, added: "Returning to the Tireo Belt energizes the whole team. This phase of detailed mapping, trenching and sampling will refine our targeting and set the stage for the upcoming 5,000-metre drill program." 2025 Program highlights: Five drill-ready VMS targets: Los Ganchos, Cañada La Vaca, Los Mineros, Cachimbo SE, Cachimbo NW. 50-km district-scale trend anchored by existing Romero and Romero South resources. Fully funded exploration budget from GoldQuest's ~$15 million treasury. Phase 1 designed to deliver near-term, high-impact results ahead of the Romero Bankable Feasibility Study. The 2025 Program will evaluate multiple new VMS targets and conduct follow-up drilling on previously identified significant intersections at Los Ganchos, Canada La Vaca, Los Mineros, Cachimbo SE and Cachimbo NW. The Tireo Formation continues to demonstrate exceptional potential for additional VMS discoveries, comparable to internationally recognized belts.
