The latest 2 Series Gran Coupé features refreshed styling, a larger footprint, and an upgraded interior. Exterior updates include BMW's illuminated Iconic Glow Kidney grille, adaptive LED headlamps, redesigned bumpers, and 18-inch alloy wheels with M Sport detailing. The coupe has grown 20 mm in length and 25 mm in height over its predecessor, while maintaining a sporty stance. Design Inside, the cabin gets a new curved widescreen display, BMW's Operating System 9 with touch and voice controls, Veganza synthetic leather upholstery, and illuminated trim. New BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Launched In India At Rs 46.90 Lakh

BMW Group India has launched the 2 Series Gran Coupe in the Indian market. This is the second generation of the car and will be available with only a petrol powertrain. It comes in two variants: the 218 M Sport and the 218 M Sport Pro, priced at Rs 46.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 48.90 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is based on the UKL2 platform of the brand, which was also used for its predecessor. This means that the vehicle's wheelbase remains at 2,670 mm, and its width at 1,800 mm. It is to be noted that the overall length has been increased by 20 mm, totaling 4,546 mm, while the height has increased by 25 mm to 1,445 mm. This leads to a cargo capacity of 430 liters. Beyond its dimensions, the design has received some changes. The car now features a more aggressive appearance, accentuated by adaptive LED headlights and a backlit grille. With the M Sport package, the vehicle displays a sporty bumper design along with darker accents. This is further complemented by the standard 18-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, the BMW 218 Gran Coupe M Sport features brand's characteristic minimalist style is on full display. A notable element is the curved glass panel that connects the 10.7-inch infotainment screen to the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, which is angled towards the driver for better visibility. These screens operate on BMW's latest OS9 software. The upholstery for seats and doors comes in a consistent dark mocha brown color, although there are multiple upholstery choices available. A panoramic sunroof is included as standard, along with features such as a wireless charger, compatibility for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, a heads-up display with augmented automatic parking features, an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), and a digital key that allows remote control of essential functions like locking/unlocking, pre-cooling the cabin, and accessing the trunk. Initially, the second-generation 2 Series Gran Coupe will only be available in petrol versions. Under the hood resides a 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that generates 156 hp and 230 Nm of torque, with power transmitted to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. With this power, the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds, while its top speed is capped at 230 km/h.

The M235 xDrive and 218 M Sport ride on adaptive M suspension which enhances agility and comfort by means of variable and frequency-selective shock absorbers. With the adaptive M suspension, the vehicle rides 8mm lower and also includes sports steering. Similar to the new 1 Series, the new 2 Series Gran Coupé delivers improved handling and dynamics across the range thanks to BMW increasing the rigidity of the body and chassis connection. It has also optimised kinematics and added new shock absorber technology. The 2 Series Gran Coupé is leather-free and its vegan interior has newly designed seats for improved long-distance driving comfort. Optionally available are Sport seats upholstered in a new Econeer fabric made from recycled polyester, or artificial leather/Alcantara. Seat heating and electric adjustment with a memory function is optional on all versions. The interior has a redesigned gear selector and a BMW Curved Display with a 10.25' instrument cluster and 10.7' touchscreen. The iDrive infotainment system uses BMW OS 9, a software suite offering a high degree of personalisation and access to downloadable apps and extended digital services via the BMW ConnectedDrive store. As per the trend in modern BMWs, the number of physical controls inside the cabin has been reduced in favour of a digitised setup. In addition to the six airbags and stability control offered range-wide, the M235 also comes with blind spot warning and lane keeping assist.
